A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! With plenty of Batman statues released over the years, Gotham city's most evil is out to take revenge on the world. Joining the ranks of such greats as The Dark Knight Returns Batman vs. Joker is another classic Batman story come to life in BATMAN THE KILLING JOKE THE JOKER! A 1988 graphic novel by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, The Killing Joke is a story about Joker and how he came to be the Clown Prince of Crime. Other than an interesting origin story for him, the book also features one of the most famous scenes in the history of comics: Joker shooting Barbara Gordon (which would in turn lead to her becoming the hero Oracle). Almost as famous as its contents is Joke's iconic cover image, captured for the first time as an ARTFX Statue! Featuring a portrait inspired by the graphic novel cover art coupled with an original pose by Kotobukiya, this new statue brings the maniacal clown to life as you've never seen him before. Joker stands with one foot resting on a crate of dynamite, smiling his huge toothy grin as he snaps a photo on his old school film camera. The sadistic villain's costume is incredibly detailed, showing off every seam, cuff, button, crease, and more on his purple three piece suit and trench coat. His outfit is even topped off by authentic studded spats, fedora, iconic white gloves, and lapel-pinned flower. The Joker's elongated white painted face leaps right off of the graphic novel cover with its deep laugh lines, left eye squeezed shut, and unruly green hair peeking out from under his hat. There's even a motion sensor built into the base that activates an LED spot lamp and camera shutter sound after a brief delay. Kotobukiya has introduced the latest installments in their stylish Devil May Cry series as Dante and Nero are joining their line of ARTFX J 1/8-scale statues. Dante appears as if he has jumped straight from the game, holding his signature blade Rebellion at the ready, an aloof expression on his face. Each detail of the character's appearance has been carefully recreated, from the leather texture on his coat and trousers to the metal buttons and fasteners on his costume. Rebellion is also faithfully recreated down to the intricate details of the skeleton on the hilt, which has a different design on the top and bottom; just one example of why this piece cannot be fully appreciated from one single angle. The next character to join the lineup is the serious and studious protagonist of the series, Twilight Sparkle! She has been beautifully rendered into the Bishoujo style by Bishoujo series illustrator Shunya Yamashita. Based on her human appearance in Equestria Girls, the Bishoujo rendition of Twilight Sparkle wears a stylish school girl inspired outfit. The Bishoujo's iconic long straight hair is recreated flowing lightly around her. Twilight Sparkle's kindness and delicacy are expertly translated into statue form, down to the tips of the fingers perched lightly on the frame of her glasses. The statue also includes a pony version of Twilight Sparkle, who is floating lightly at the Bishoujo's feet. A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! Kotobukiya's series of Marvel Comics ARTFX+ Statues continues with the latest mutant hero in the Marvel Now lineup that has been taking the world by storm. In 2012 the comic book company relaunched several titles, shifting some characters into different books and updating some for a modern audience. More than anything, it provided a perfect jumping on point for new readers. Now the characters are brought to life as never before based on concept artwork by superstar artist Adi Granov, who was also responsible for the preceding Avengers series. Completing the X-Men lineup and joining previously released Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magneto, Magik, Beast, and Rogue is fan favorite WOLVERINE! A nearly immortal mutant with a powerful healing factor and heightened senses, Wolverine was further enhanced by an adamantium-laced skeleton and ultra-sharp claws. Throughout his years with the X-Men (and other teams) he's worn several different costumes, and this new version is the ARTFX+ debut of his unique Marvel Now outfit consisting of a tough, combat-ready uniform. It's a full bodysuit revealing only the lower part of his face, though of course his claws protrude through it as well. Wolverine is captured in mid-lunge, stepping forward with his right leg as he jabs his left hand for a lethal strike. The stark black and yellow armor sections of his costume make a cool 'X' out of negative space, and it includes his trademark pointed cowl. Logan's face is contorted into a fierce snarl as he attacks his enemies, and he looks super cool with his eyes covered by the pure white lenses of his costume. Sculpted by the same master artist who did the Marvel Now! Avengers series, Junnosuke Abe, the diminutive Wolverine stands under 7 ½ inches tall (in the ARTFX+ 1/10th scale) with magnets in his feet to provide perfect stability on his included display base.
