Perhaps best known for his work on Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yoshiyuki Sadomoto is one of Japan's leading anime artists, the lead character designer for the animation powerhouse Gainax. In addition to his work on Evangelion, Sadomoto has also worked on projects such as Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo, .hack//sign, Aim To The Top 2, and Furi-Kuri, and his work on these projects and more feature in Carmine, a collection of over 100 pieces of Sadomoto's best artwork, presented in full-color, full-page spreads. Carmine comes complete with a bonus CD-Rom with high-resolution images of all artwork in the book, 10' x 14' posters of Evangelion's Rei and Asuka, a replica of Sadomoto's original script for 'The Illustration,' and interviews with Sadomoto and Hideaki Anno, the art director for Neon Genesis Evangelion, as they discuss Sadomoto's work.
