Far off in the ocean exists a mysterious island inhabited by two rival clans. To keep the peace, the Tangata clan provides a yearly offering of one of their warriors to the more powerful Miyaru, who are said to be descended from sharks! Avel, the Tangata chief’s son, is growing increasingly dissatisfied with this arrangement…and with the Miyaru. When he is attacked by a jungle cat, a member of the Miyaru clan, Tukiri, comes to his rescue.
