Adapted by Stephane Heuet Now in trade paperback! Proust, now a teenager, describes his first separation from his mother, a vacation taken in a high class beach resort in Normandy. Besides the fleeting visions of young girls, he also keenly observes, without acidity but detached amusement, the petty sophistry of the French upper class in its genteel environs, safely removed from the lower ones. An important social question is to know whether the pane of glass will always protect the feast of the marvelous beasts and if the obscure people peering at them through the night will not come and pick them out of their aquarium and eat them. 8x11, 48pg, FC (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

by Gabrielle Bell New York-based cartoonist Gabrielle Bell brings together thirty-five of the popular 'Book of' series, plus several extra short comics, displaying the broad range of Bell's storytelling and cartooning talent. Her fiction includes 'Book of Black,' a story of Kate, a pretty young rhinoplasty assistant who encounters happy-go-lucky street people, a lascivious landlord, vapid co-workers, and Trent Reznor on her descent into madness. Bell's autobiographical tales feature the author as an eccentric old lady, a five hundred-foot-tall woman, in England, in Mexico with a baby, and being charmed and hypnotized by colorful San Francisco characters. by MAC RABOY Dark Horse is proud to present this collection of Mac Raboy's run on Flash Gordon. Continuing Dark Horse Comics' tradition of fine reprint books, this tome is the first ever collection of Flash Gordon work by Raboy. Beginning his comics career in 1940, after taking government-funded drawing classes, Emanuel 'Mac' Raboy drew comics for the Harry 'A' Chesler Studio and for Fawcett Publications. He's perhaps best known for his work on Captain Marvel, Jr. and the Green Lama in the 1940s. In the Spring of 1948 he signed on with King Features to illustrate the 'Flash Gordon' Sunday page, following in the footsteps of his idol, Alex Raymond, and drawing the strip until his death in December of 1967.
