Mal's favorite sidearm just got shinier! QMx is proud to offer this metal-plated, screen-accurate replica of the iconic sidearm carried by Captain Malcolm Reynolds of the Firefly-class transport, Serenity. Years of development have gone into creating this entirely new, non-firing replica of Mal's pistol. Using a mold of the original stunt pistol carried by actor Nathan Fillion, we've created a highly detailed piece, from the grips to the trigger to the barrel. Measuring 14' from the tip of the barrel to the back on the hand-painted simulated wood grips, our Mal pistol weighs in at just over a pound, giving it a solid heft. The body is cast in polystone and composed of several metal-plated parts, then painted and weathered to match the antique brass color of the original hero prop, prior to final assembly. If aliens made LEGO, this is what it would look like. The Argus Cube, so named by the scientist studying the only alien ever to be captured alive, is an organic magnet, capable of reassembling itself on an atomic level to fit almost any purpose. The cubes, which appear in the movie, Super 8, are the building blocks of the alien's spaceship. Using the 3-D solid model files used to create the screen-used props, QMx has created an exact replica of the Argus Cube in passive mode. With a polystone core, the exterior of the cube is plated with a smooth pearlescent coating, perfectly replicating the semi-organic, semi-metallic finish of the hero prop. In Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Luke Skywalker was assigned the wing position of Red Five and flew his X-Wing Starfighter in the Battle of Yavin against the Empire's mightiest weapon, the dreaded Death Star. As an X-Wing pilot, Luke wore a distinctive helmet. The helmet prop was made from an APH-6B Vietnam-era flight helmet used by the United States Navy, and it included a dual visor cover. A ridge was also added over the top, then the helmet was cast in halves to make the master pattern. The eFX X-Wing Pilot Helmet is a faithful recreation of the helmet worn in the film and is limited in production to 750 pieces worldwide.
