This volume prints 13 complete, large 4-tier Carl Barks stories in the original, full?size they were actually?drawn in glorious black?and white, one full page of art on each page of the book. These 13 stories of the combined?Barney Bear and Benny?Burro feature were originally published in Our Gang Comics #24-36, and now Barks' Complete MGM art is available at the size it was drawn in 3 volumes. This book?measures 18 inches?wide and 26 inches tall?and weighs about 8 pounds. Looking at these pages?as printed in this book is like looking at the pages?fresh from the master's drawing board. The stories from are printed one art page to the book page with an image size of 16 by 23.25 inches, the size that Barks drew almost all his original art beginning in December, 1943 until he retired in 1966, with only very rare exceptions. These pages are printed from proofs which are derived from the 7 x10 inch photo negatives taken of the original art between January, 1946 and January, 1947. Looking at the stories in this book really is like looking at pages of Barks' original art because Barks didn't make many mistakes that needed correction in his art. His main use of white ink was not to correct errors, but to delineate details in black on black images or add pie cuts to the ducks' eyes.
