The follow-up to the Tim-Burton-esque middle grade graphic novel that Max Brallier calls “Equal parts nightmarish and outrageously funny!"Milo and Sunny may have saved Shock City and its citizens from ruin, but that doesn't mean everything is peachy. As the town continues to deal with the aftermath of Darkness Von Shock's reign of terror, a new team of instigators arises: hotheaded brothers who Becky lovingly refers to as the Diaper Twins. They lead the town in blaming Sunny and her parents for all the issues Shock City still faces. Milo is enraged that the Diaper Twins have scapegoated the Von Shocks, but then Becky convinces Milo and Sunny to blow off some steam and play a few harmless pranks on the twins. Little do Milo and Sunny know Becky's setting her own plans in motion, plotting to bring back an old friend even more sinister than ol' Darkness Von Shock himself.

A Voodoo witch must navigate a magically and racially divided nineteenth-century New Orleans to save her mother—and the soul of the city itself—in this lush debut novel inspired by the life of Marie Laveau.“An edgy, intoxicating novel pulsing with the dark heartbeat of 1840s New Orleans and a fiery mother-daughter dynamic I won’t soon forget . . . Readers will devour this!”—Sarah Penner, New York Times bestselling author of The Lost ApothecaryIn 1843 New Orleans, the reigning Voodoo queen is Marie Laveau, feared by her enemies and followers alike. Her daughter, Marie "Ree" Laveau the Second, is everything her cutthroat and principled mother is not—spoiled and entitled, with a wickedly rebellious streak—and defies her mother at every turn. But Ree’s world is turned upside down when she finds Marie comatose in the bayou, cursed by exiled Voodoo king Jon the Conjurer—Marie’s former teacher, lover, and greatest enemy. As Marie hovers on the brink of death, Ree races to uncover the secrets of her mother’s life in search of a cure and gradually uncovers a web of alliances, dangers, and deception. What’s worse, Henryk Broussard, Ree’s long-missing childhood best friend, returns as a witch hunter of the Church, tasked with investigating her. With so many enemies circling, including a puritanical-minded Brotherhood of alchemists and the slave-holding mayor of the city, Ree must confront the past and face her mother’s demons that have now become her own—or die trying.Told in alternating timelines between Ree in the present and Marie’s rise to power twenty-five years earlier, The Quarter Queen is an intimate yet epic portrait of a mother and daughter who have struggled all their lives to understand one another, and a captivating exploration of racism, family, and womanhood.

The Horadrim must journey to the Skovos Isles to discover the fate of a long-lost expedition in this official prequel novel to Diablo: Lord of Hatred. In a world culled by Malthael’s Reaping, the Horadric order—humanity’s only hope—struggles to gain a foothold. Within the dimming lands of Sanctuary, evils rise from all corners, and though the Horadrim are used to facing down the darkest spawn of the Burning Hells, they are far less prepared for the depravity arising within their fellow men. But as Lorath, Donan, and Tyrael seek justice and a path forward, the Horadrim’s numbers have dwindled, leaving humanity vulnerable. Hoping to strengthen the order, Tyrael and the two mages set sail to Skovos, where Sho-Ren and four other Horadrim were sent years ago to establish diplomatic relations with the Askari . . . and were never heard from again. Though the risk is great, the chance of reclaiming kin—as well as the Horadric vault hidden deep within the heart of the isles—remains too great an opportunity to pass up.At first glance, Skovos appears to have escaped the devastation so many others faced in the wake of the Reaping. But as the Horadrim attempt to ally with the Askari and their rulers, it becomes clear that all is not right on their shores. To gain the trust of the Amazon warriors, Lorath seeks the aid of their captain, Adreona. The Askari leader does not trust the mysterious mainlander, though—not while her soldiers are under constant threat of the Drowned and can ill afford distractions. To save both their peoples, Lorath and Adreona must learn to battle together against not only the perils before them . . . but also those lurking just beneath the surface.

Alan Moore is a legendary comics writer credited with transforming the medium and how it was seen through his seminal works such as V For Vendetta, From Hell and, of course, Watchmen. But, before any of that, he cut his teeth at 2000 AD, the "galaxy's greatest comic". It was there that Moore honed his craft in preparation for the accolades that would follow. This first volume in a new series collecting all of Alan Moore's work for 2000 AD, brings together all of his Future Shocks as well as a host of other one-off stories. Moore is a master of the short-format story and this collection doubles as the perfect guide for how to write comics to a page limit. Includes the story "A Holiday In Hell" which has never been reprinted in English since its first publication in 1980. Moore's stories are complemented by the works of a string of legendary artists including Dave Gibbons (Watchmen), Ian Gibson (The Ballad of Halo Jones), Eric Bradbury (Rogue Trooper), Bryan Talbot (Grandville), Steve Dillon (Preacher), Brett Ewins (Bad Company) and more. A must-have collector’s edition of one of the most inspirational and influential chess books ever written.First published in 1969, My 60 Memorable Games offers a rare window into the mind of chess icon Bobby Fischer. It contains Fischer’s objective, honest, and self-critical annotations to games he had won, drawn, and even lost in the period from 1957 to 1967—but from which he also learned valuable lessons.Reading Fischer’s intensely personal commentaries is like going back in time and watching live coverage of his over-the-board battles with the leading players of the day. Soon he would become the greatest of them all.Released in a luxurious new edition for collectors, with foiled cloth binding and an eight-page plate section, this remarkable book is a true insight into one of the most gifted, troubled, and controversial minds of the twentieth century. It is simply one of the most important and influential chess books ever written.
Bobby Fischer (1943–2008) was an American-born chess grandmaster who became famous as a teenager for his phenomenal chess-playing ability. In 1972, at the height of the Cold War, he won the world title from the Russian Boris Spassky in a gripping match in Reykjavík, Iceland, that generated worldwide media interest. Fischer not only played brilliant chess but also raised the game to new levels of professionalism, and his influence is still felt strongly today.
