Sergeant Moses Rayker, a non-commissioned officer in the US army, first appeared in DC Thomson’s adventure comic Warlord in 1979 and became an instant fan favourite as he took on discrimination and prejudice from Axis and Allies alike. His story continued in the weekly Warlord, annuals and summer specials until 1984. Then, in 2025, Rayker returned for more adventures in Britain’s longest-serving war comic, Commando. In this collection, his first two rebooted Commando issues are blown up to full graphic-novel size: In 1944, during a daring escape over the Italian mountains, Rayker and his squad encounter a familiar face. Buford ‘Bubba’ Ballard clashed with Rayker before the war, and Ballard still holds a grudge. Nonetheless, Rayker knows his duty is to escort Ballard past the German checkpoints and safely home. Can both men keep their cool long enough to survive? Or will Rayker end up smacking the tar outta him before they make it back? Read Rayker’s legacy reboot alongside the first eleven issues of the original comic pages in Warlord, classic covers and a behind-the-scenes look at how the new issues were created. (immagine)

Up at the League, says a friend, there had been one night a brisk conversational discussion, as to what would happen on the Morrow of the Revolution … As he sat in that vapour-bath of hurried and discontented humanity, a carriage of the underground railway, he, like others, stewed discontentedly … he found himself musing on the subject-matter of discussion: "If I could but see a day of it," he said to himself; "if I could but see it!" This is the graphic biography of William Morris (1834-1896), the celebrated designer, driven polymath and radical socialist. With the telegraphic immediacy of the doodle, Nick Thorkelson's striking and idiosyncratic illustrations chime with the Arts and Crafts movement's emphasis on the humanising power of the handmade. Thorkelson moves through the major events of Morris's life weaving a rich tapestry of the major artistic, social and political questions which animated him. He explores Morris's politics and art, and how his hatred of class tyranny and love of humanity shaped his poetry, design, and relationships. He considers the tension of Morris's efforts to democratize art while creating pieces for the wealthy, his critique of Britain's Empire, and his central place in socialist culture and propaganda (120 pages, 280 x 203mm) (immagine)

by (W) Eugene Yelchin (A) Eugene Yelchin
Winner of the National Jewish Book Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature"By turns heartbreaking and gut-wrenching, Eugene Yelchin’s eloquent memoir is both a cautionary tale about the sacrifices demanded by a government that lies, denies, conceals, and coerces its citizens into compliance and a poignant love letter to his past." — Candace Fleming, author of the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award winner and Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner The Family Romanov No longer the creative little boy under his grandmother’s table, Yevgeny is now a young adult, pursuing his artistic dreams under the constant threat of the KGB’s stranglehold on Russia’s creative scene. When a chance encounter with an American woman opens him up to a world of romance and possibility, Yevgeny believes he has found his path to the future—and freedom overseas. But the threat of being drafted into the military and sent to fight in Afghanistan changes everything in a terrible instant, and he takes drastic measures to decide his fate, leading to unthinkable consequences in a mental hospital. With bold art bringing a vivid reality to life, National Book Award Finalist and Newbery Honoree Eugene Yelchin’s sequel to the acclaimed memoir The Genius Under the Table returns to Yevgeny’s saga, balancing the terror and oppression of Soviet Russia with the author’s signature charm and dark wit. I Wish I Didn't Have to Tell You This shines a stark spotlight on history while offering a poignant, nuanced, and powerfully resonant look at growing up in—and ultimately leaving—Cold War Russia in the early 1980s.
Eugene Yelchin is the creator of The Genius Under the Table, a Sydney Taylor Honor Book that earned seven starred reviews and mention on numerous Best of the Year lists. He is also coauthor and illustrator of the 2018 National Book Award Finalist The Assassination of Brangwain Spurge, co-written with M. T. Anderson, and he received a Newbery Honor for his novel Breaking Stalin’s Nose. Born in Leningrad, Russian-American Eugene Yelchin now lives in Topanga, California, with his family.

by (W) Kyle MacLachlan
In this highly anticipated memoir, the beloved actor and star of Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Sex and the City, Fallout, and more shares his utterly original account of his offbeat journey in Hollywood, his battles with fear and fame, and the projects that shaped him—and created a cult icon.Everywhere I go I am followed by a mystery man. He looks like me but—not quite. On talk shows, I sip coffee on couches and pretend to be him; on social media, I put on his mask to engage in suburban silliness. And of course, we work together. But for him, the movies and TV shows never end. Where does this guy—this Kyle MacLachlan—end and where do I begin? And is he even real? And, holy mackerel . . . am I?To be in the black suit, or not to be? Kyle MacLachlan’s funny, moving, and playfully self-aware memoir charts a career that could belong to no other. Plucked from obscurity to star in David Lynch’s Dune, the Hollywood blockbuster that never was, MacLachlan rebounded with a startling performance in Lynch’s provocative masterpiece Blue Velvet, which would mark him as a master of the unusual and ultimately lead to his career-defining role as Agent Dale Cooper on the TV sensation Twin Peaks.Fictional Selves is a book of doppelgangers, with MacLachlan mirrored by his own prodding ego (“Other Kyle”), the iconic characters he inhabited, and the ones that eluded his grasp but gave him a profound and surprising lens onto himself as a person and a performer. Taking us from the heights of critical success for Blue Velvet to the depths of the backyard pool in his infamous (and delightful) Showgirls love scene, MacLachlan brings us into the mind of one of the most distinctive actors of his generation, offering profound insights on collaborators like David Lynch, Laura Dern, Dennis Hopper, Anthony Hopkins, and more. Featuring lessons learned the hard way about ambition, love, and fatherhood, this memoir is an honest look into the remarkable—and often unpredictable—life of an enduring and endearing Hollywood icon.
Kyle MacLachlan is an Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe–winning actor who has been a star of television and film for forty years. He has starred in projects such as Dune, Blue Velvet, Fallout, and the groundbreaking television show Twin Peaks. Kyle is heavily active on social media where he promotes his wine label, Pursued by Bear, his chart-topping true-crime podcast Varnamtown, and engages extensively with fans. Kyle lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Desiree, and his son.

by (W) Art Spiegelman
For the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Maus, the terrorist attacks of September 11th were both highly personal and intensely political. In the Shadow of No Towers is a masterful and moving account of the events and aftermath of that tragic day. Spiegelman and his family bore witness to the attacks in their lower Manhattan neighborhood: his teenage daughter had started school directly below the towers days earlier, and they had lived in the area for years. But the horrors they survived that morning were only the beginning for Spiegelman, as his anguish was quickly displaced by fury at the U.S. government, which shamelessly co-opted the events for its own preconceived agenda. He responded in the way he knows best. In an oversized, two-page-spread format that echoes the scale of the earliest newspaper comics (which Spiegelman says brought him solace after the attacks), he relates his experience of the national tragedy in drawings and text that convey—with his singular artistry and his characteristic provocation, outrage, and wit—the unfathomable enormity of the event itself, the obvious and insidious effects it had on his life, and the extraordinary, often hidden changes that have been enacted in the name of post-9/11 national security and that have begun to undermine the very foundation of American democracy.
Art Spiegelman is cofounder/editor of Raw, the acclaimed magazine of avant-garde comics and graphics. From 1992 to 2002, he was a staff artist and writer for The New Yorker, which published his powerful black-on-black 9/11 cover a few days after the event. His drawings and prints have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world. Maus received the Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Spiegelman lives in New York City with his wife, Françoise Mouly, and their two children.

by (W) Delphine Panique (CT) Devorah Fischler
Dreamlike and darkly humorous stories of migrant labor and the gig economy for fans of Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone.In a delicate, sometimes searing send-up of documentary cartooning, Delphine Panique stitches together vignettes of an eerie dreamworld, not dissimilar from our own, and its most marginalized workers: single migrant mothers. A seasonal worker trains messenger pigeons, necessary in a country that can’t give up instant communication after the disappearance of electricity; a woman who never wanted to be a mother is tricked into caring for a house full of strange children in a coastal town whose rising waters its wealthy residents are fleeing; a fleet of couriers circulate among people who live completely indoor lives supported by deliveries until, one day, the packages seem different…Vibrant, smart, and masterfully spun, Dig and Drift at once summons humor, tragedy, and ironic, steely optimism. The indomitable spirit of working women reverberates throughout the book, translated into English for the first time by translator Devorah Fischler.
Delphine Panique is a French comics artist. She has authored several graphic novels, of which Dig and Drift is the first to appear in English.Devorah Fischler is a writer, editor, and translator based in San Francisco.

Electronic circuit design, drawn by hand and explained from first principles. The Secret Life of Circuits teaches electronic circuit design the way a working engineer actually thinks about it: starting with the physics, using math where it earns its place, the workbench never far away. Across nearly 300 hand-drawn color illustrations, Michal Zalewski builds intuition from the ground up, showing how electrons move through conductors and semiconductors, what’s really going on inside op-amps and current mirrors, how digital logic works at the gate level, and how to carry a design from schematic through PCB fabrication to working firmware.Photographed experiments. Real component behavior. The practical problems that show up in your own designs. Just the right balance of practice and theory: no Laplace transforms and no plumbing analogies.Inside, you’ll learn how to:Reason about real components, including the parasitics, noise, and reflections that ideal models hideUnderstand analog building blocks like amplifiers, oscillators, and filters at the device levelWork with digital logic, memory, and clocking, and see how a rudimentary computer comes togetherDrive peripherals from a microcontroller and bring an embedded project to lifeLay out high-speed PCBs with surface-mount components and get them to work on the first tryThe Secret Life of Circuits is for inquisitive hobbyists who hit a wall in the usual books, and engineers who want to close the gap between the classroom and where the work actually happens.
Michal Zalewski is a computer security specialist and an avid tinkerer with more than three decades of experience in electronic circuit design. He runs a popular, in-depth electronics blog and has published a number of hardware projects featured on Hackaday and in other venues. He spent more than a decade at Google building its product security program and later served as VP of security and privacy engineering at Snap Inc.
