Hideshi Hino was born in Japanese-occupied China in 1946. His tumultuous, post-war childhood introduced him to devastated, apocalyptic Japanâ€“a vision of horror that would inspire his lifeâ€™s work. Hideshi began contributing to Tezuka Osamuâ€™s COM in the late 60s, and GARO in the early 70s. Upon publishing his first standalone work in 1978, Hideshiâ€™s popularity kicked off a total horror revival. A Lullaby from Hell is his first book with Drawn & Quarterly.
