Arturo Del Castillo was one of the greatest masters of Argentinian comic strip. His artistic skill is recognised internationally and his work on The Three Musketeers, The Man in the Iron Mask, and The King's Musketeers (all included here) is regarded as some of the finest pen and ink work ever created for comic strips. These 3 comic strips originally appeared in the British comics Film Fun and Lion in the early 1960s. This is the first time they have ever been reprinted in this complete form. Bob Fingerman is an indie cartoonist who Harvey Kurtzman discovered amongst his students and realised here was someone who actually knew how to draw! Fingerman has worked for just-about every major and minor comics and magazine publication in the US, and while artists like Dan Clowes and Peter Bagge achieved greater visibility, Fingerman's work is of equal merit. Hans Kresse was one of the greatest comic strip artists you have never heard of, coming all the way from The Netherlands. It's a shame that nobody remembers him anymore. Although he was published all over the world-it was during the 1950s and 1960s-and that might be why nobody remembers him anymore, as comics once read back then were trashed afterwards and nobody gave a hoot as to who the artists were (although Kresse worked until the 1990s). Jet-Ace Logan first appeared in The Comet #426 (September 1956) with art by Geoff Campion who drew the first 3 stories. John Gillatt took over the art from issue 474 and continued honing his brilliant pen and ink artwork until the last issue of Comet in October 1959 by which time his artwork had become some of the finest and exciting comic strip art in British comics.
