The Mandalorian - Season 2 Show runners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni return with a second season of 'The Mandalorian,' the Star Wars-themed episodic show streaming on Disney+. The second season picks up where the first left off, with a Mandalorian bounty hunter, living in the age after the fall of the Empire, attempts to return a baby of Yoda's species to his people and home - fighting against a variety of dangerous creatures and the remnants of Imperial power throughout the galaxy. Richard Bluff returns as production-side visual effects supervisor, joined by visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer, Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor John Knoll, animation supervisor Hal Hickel, and artists and technicians at Hybride, Image Engine and Important Looking Pirates. The Stand Horror author Stephen King had already made a name for himself with the novels Carrie and The Shining by the time The Stand hit bookshelves in 1978. The epic novel, which many still count as their favorite King tome, presented the story of the ultimate showdown between Good and Evil after the apocalypse of a population-shattering pandemic. CBS All Access dramatizes the novel in a nine-episode series starring James Marsden and Whoopi Goldberg. Jake Braver serves as visual effects supervisor, overseeing stunning work from Industrial Light & Magic, Important Looking Pirates, Pixomondo and other top-drawer visual effects houses. Star Trek: Discovery In Season 3 of the CBS All Access sci-fi series, Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the starship U.S.S. Discovery travel to the distant future, where they face the difficult challenge of restoring hope to a fractured Federation. Lead visual effects supervisor Jason Zimmerman directs teams of home-working artists at vendors including Pixomondo, DNEG TV, Crafty Apes, Ghost VFX, FX3X and The Mill. Glenn Hetrick's and Neville Page's Alchemy Studios create prosthetic makeup effects and specialty armor. Mank Veteran Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) reteams with wunderkind director Orson Welles (Tom Burke) to craft the screenplay for Welles' daring cinematic debut, 'Citizen Kane.' Netflix presents the David Fincher film, based on a screenplay by Jack Fincher, as a hyper-realistic journey into the soul of 1940s America. Visual effects supervisor Pablo Helman and team at Industrial Light & Magic furnished cutting-edge digital artistry, along with Artemple Hollywood, Territory Studio, Savage VFX, Ollin VFX and Alterian. Raised by Wolves After a future war divides Earth into warrior-like and spiritualistic factions, two androids (Amanda Colin and Abubakar Salim) flee to a mysterious planet where they are tasked with raising a colony of human children. HBO Max and Scott Free Productions realized the ten-episode mini-series with makeup effects supervisor Jaco Snyman, special effects supervisor Cordell McQueen and visual effects supervisor Ray McIntyre Jr. Mr. X and Pixomondo led a collective of more than a dozen visual effects studios, including Mind & Machine, UPP, Pixel Magic, Crafty Apes, Spin VFX, CoSA VFX, Barnstorm VFX and BUF. Director Cate Shortland collaborated with visual effects supervisor Gerard Diefenthal and special effects supervisor Chris Corbould to bring the travails and triumphs of the Marvel Studios' heroine to vivid life. Visual effects by Digital Domain, Industrial Light & Magic, Weta Digital, SSVFX and Scanline. No Time to Die - Daniel Craig's last turn as James Bond has the retired 007 agent being drawn into active service at the behest of a former friend in the CIA. As always, practical effects - orchestrated by Chris Corbould - and visual effects join forces to provide all the high-octane action expected in a James Bond film. Director Cary Joji Fukunaga worked with visual effects supervisor Charlie Noble and teams from Industrial Light & Magic, Cinesite, DNEG, Framestore and others to give Craig as Bond a spectacular send-off. Fast and Furious 9 - Former street racer Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) seeks a peaceful family life with Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) and his son, but the past returns to haunt him when his brother Jakob (John Cena) arrives from nowhere. Director Justin Lin returns to the world of high-speed cars and audacious heists with the ninth film in the popular action franchise. Special effects supervisor Alistair Williams delivers teeth-rattling racing antics on set. Visual effects supervisor Peter Chiang leads the team at DNEG to augment the action and craft suitably outrageous set pieces. Artemis Fowl - Seeking to restore his family fortune, young criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl II (Ferdia Shaw) gets embroiled in a kidnap plot in a magical fairy kingdom. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the film is adapted from the best-selling fantasy novels by Eoin Colfer. Visual effects supervisor Charley Henley conjures illusions with artists from MPC, Framestore, Industrial Light & Magic, RISE and BUF.
