The story begins with Tarzan as a twelve-year-old boy, although he no more knows his age than do his jungle family, the mangani apes. In this land where time goes unmeasured, Tarzan encounters, for the first time, other white skins hunting the tusks of tantor, and more remarkably, the young Barsoomian Princess Atara, oblivious of her nakedness in her flight from the dreaded Cannibal King. Both editions are printed on 80# paper and hardbound in moss green Cialux cloth stamped in gold on the spine and front cover with original color map endpapers with a two color Letterpress title page printed on 120 gsm Lettra paper designed by Leslie Cabarga with a full color wrap around dust jacket painting by Alex Niño. In addition Alex has created eight paintings reproduced on heavy stock in full color - including three two page fold outs and 13 black and white spot illustrations inserted into the text. In addition to the above, The Deluxe Signed Limited Edition is bound in maroon Cialux cloth and limited to 300 numbered copies signed by the author, Jake Saunders, the artist Alex Niño, and the designer Zavier Leslie Cabarga.
