The very same Weta artists who are working on the movie will be launching THE ART OF TINTIN book in both paper and digital format in late 2011. So readers will get the inside story telling how the movie progresses from the original works of Herg?, through the movie design process, to the final look on the big screen. Weta Workshop's artists have created the special make-up effects, physical characteristics, stunning landscapes, and most importantly, Tintin's dog Snowy. The film is to be shot with an atmospheric, film-noire aesthetic with sweeping European cityscapes and vistas, a veritable feast for the eyes. This book illuminates the creative design process, detailing interactions between Weta's artists, Peter Jackson, and Steven Spielberg. It will include hundreds of images from concept art and storyboards to photographs of the props and sculptures, as well as insightful remarks from the artists themselves. Many of the images included in this book have never been seen before, including work that was eventually cut or barely glimpsed in the finished film.
