What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...at least, that’s what healthy people say. Valentine Virago has always struggled with her health. Her rare autoimmune disorder has defied all treatment, and as she grew older, it defied even classification. You see, Valentine can take her immune system and weaponize it. What would just be a normal sneeze to the rest of us, she can turn into a projectile of bloody miasma. Just as a start. Fed up with being a test subject, poked and prodded by pushy doctors, Valentine has gone on the lam in search of the freedom to be herself. Unfortunately, interested parties want her back in their care, and they are sending goons in hazmat suits. Led by Jono, her one-time nurse and potential love interest, they’re offering her a spot in a private medical facility run by Jono's parents. Val isn’t one for institutions, however, and what some may see as a safe haven, she sees as a prison— and who wants to be trapped in a prison, when you're already trapped in your own body? Writer Tini Howard (Marian Heretic, X-Men) teams up with artist Amilcar Pinna (X-Men: First Class, Galactic) and colorist Amanda Grazini (Creepshow, The Cryos) for their new series Sicko, a surreal story perfect for fans of Doom Patrol and mutant adventures of all kinds.

As Jordan Savage struggles to use his father’s mystic sword against attacking Mordorks, his twin sister is locked in a battle of her own. Namely, her own anxiety and the legacy of her heroic mother, which has now suddenly been foisted upon her. It’s hard enough to live up to the reputation of a woman who you never understood and who you think doesn’t understand you, but it’s even harder when the entire human race depends on it! This penultimate issue of the first series of Just Brutal is not just a crucial inflection point in the plot, but it’s also the most emotional issue for our characters. Fans of Dennis Hopeless’s acclaimed run on Spider-Woman know he understands the dynamics of mother and child, and his work with Jason Aaron on Sea of Stars demonstrated his insight into how loss informs a family’s legacy, but he takes it to a whole new area in Just Brutal. You can’t miss this one!

Adjusting to life as a vampire is hard. No matter how eager her roommate is to see Syd fully embrace her role as creature of the night, these new cravings and all that come with them are a lot more challenging than popular myths would have you believe. Yet, new victims keep sliding into her DMs, and the worst of New York’s dating pool are laying their heads on the proverbial chopping block. What Syd can’t anticipate, though, are the rather gruesome changes her own prey will go through after she’s drained them of life. This new five-issue limited series from Joanne Starer, the new writer of Harley Quinn, and Khary Randolph, artist for DC’s newly announced Vixen series, is perfect for fans of Shaun of the Dead, Fright Night, and 1980s romantic comedies.

Deep in the Ozark Mountains lies the village of Dooney Hollow, hidden away from modern society for over a century. Its existence is only spoken of around campfires, in hushed tones, by people who don’t necessarily believe. Those who stumble upon Dooney Hollow never return to prove that it’s real, because dark forces lurk in the woods just outside the town gate. Kerri is a young graduate student who goes to the Ozarks to get a feel for the land and its people – and its local legends. Little does she know how close to these legends she will get, as a chance encounter in the forest leads her to ceremonial grounds and the terrifying monster that keeps the citizens of Dooney Hollow living in fear. A new and horrifying tale from Jeremy Haun, the creator of Murder Podcast and co-creator of The Beauty, with incredible art by Alex Lins (Briar; Plastic Man No More!) and legendary colorist Trish Mulvihill (100 Bullets). Featuring a special variant by rising artist Ebrahel Lurci.

THIS ISSUE, EVERYTHING CHANGES! We really mean it. That’s why our caps lock is on. Farklar the Fleshless is back, and the eons in exile have made him even more determined and powerful. Dex and Jan Savage are the warriors who banished him from this earthly plane the first time, but time still takes its toll, even on eternal warriors. Centuries with no mortal enemies to test their mettle have made them soft, and if they can’t beat Farklar, the consequences will be deadly. Not to mention, Farklar will enslave the whole world! It’s high adventure and family drama in the smash series by writer Dennis Hopeless (Spider-Woman) and artist Brahm Revel (TMNT: Jennika), and the stakes could not be higher. This issue is going to hurt! B Cover: Featuring the latest in a series of variant covers by Transformers and Lobo’s Jorge Corona.
