LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS

While Hammer films got most of the publicity, another British company was making its mark in the horror and fantasy field in the 1960's & 70's. Amicus Productions, the brainchild of New York producers Milton Subotsky and Max Rosenberg, rose to fame with their first fantasy film City of the Dead (released in the United States as Horror Hotel), and would follow with such popular films as Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, The Psychopath, Scream and Scream Again, The House That Dripped Blood, I Monster, and many more. Noted author Philip Nutman's history of the company is full of stories, behind-the-scenes wrangling, and the complete history of the rise and fall of Amicus. Written with the full cooperation and involvement of producer Milton Subotsky and access to thousands of pages of internal company memos, this is the definitive history of Amicus Productions.
