After her adoptive parents discovered her mutant powers, her adoptive father, despite her mother's protests, called the mutant control division. Saved by the X-Men, she was taken unconscious to Xavier's Mansion, where she woke up receiving support from the medical team. Eventually, Jubilee joined the X-Men, making the mutant superhero team her new family, especially Wolverine, with whom she developed a father-daughter relationship. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri, Jubilee has the mutant power to generate bright multicolored energy explosions from her hands that resemble fireworks. She can use this power to destroy electronics, break metal, and even repel people. Initially, she could not control her power, but she learned to gain some control over time.
