Noted pulp historian David Saunders explores Blakeslee's work in depth, with over 100 full-color reproductions from every phase of his long career. Also featured in this issue is the work of magazine illustrator Morton Roberts, a wonderful painter who died tragically long. Rounding out the issue is a feature on The Merrill Company Publishers and the discovery and salvation of their archives containing over 600 original paintings originally made for the covers of childrens books from the 1940's and 50's.
