esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
It was an age of mighty heroes, misunderstood monsters, and complex villains. With the publication, in November 1961 of Fantastic Four #1, comics giant Marvel inaugurated a transformative era in pop culture. Through the next two decades, the iconic Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man,and the X-Men leapt, darted, and towered through its pages. The Marvel Age of Comics 1961-1978 takes you to the heart of this seminal segment in comic history, an age of triumphant character and narrative innovation that reinvented the super hero genre. With hundreds of images and insider insights, the book traces the birth of champions who were at once epic in their powers and adversaries and grounded in a world that readers recognized as close to their own; relatable heroes with the same problems, struggles, and shortcomings as everyone else. In 1958 Milton Luros left his New York job designing and illustrating detective pulp magazines for North Hollywood, California. A year later, with a loan from an underworld figure, he founded a publishing empire that revolutionized men's magazines in the 1960s. His so-called 'California slicks' borrowed bad-girl themes from pre-Playboy burlesque titles, featuring big hair, heavy make-up, cigarettes, and cocktails, but in west coast mid-century settings with better photography, paper, and printing. With no redeeming articles, they were too strong for newsstands, but outsold Playboy in tobacco shops and specialty bookstores. Californian Elmer Batters invented leg art photography the same year, with titles Black Silk Stockings, Leg-O-Rama, Tip Top, Elmer's Naked Jungle and more. Back in New York, Irving Klaw introduced fetish digests in the same specialty bookstores, leading to a '60s fetish boom, with Lenny Burtman's High Heels, Satana, Striparama, and Leg Show. Sixties freedom spread to England too, where George Harrison Marks launched Kamera and Solo magazines with totally naked models posed to barely hide the banned bits, inventing 'top shelf' titles: those not on public display. Volume 4 in this series contains over 650 ground-breaking covers and photos from the U.S., England, and Sweden with descriptive text. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

The female leg is an erotic oddity: non-genital, and nearly identical in structure to the male limb, there is no obvious reason why it should be eroticized. Yet through much of history, across many cultures, the female leg was kept covered and treated as taboo, until it became an object of sexual obsession. In Victorian times, the word 'leg' was forbidden in polite society, lest gentlemen be driven wild with lust. Even now, 80 years after women's legs finally came out of hiding, their allure remains mysterious and powerful. The third in Dian Hanson's wildly successful series on erotic body parts explores how the female leg became central to women's emacipation, from the French Revolution to the sexual revolution. Over 400 photos document the first burlesque shows of the 1800s, the silk-stockinged flappers of the '20s, the nylon-mania of the '40s, the dawn of the stiletto in the '50s, and the golden age of leg magazines in the '60s. by Alison Castle Finally available again, in a special anniversary edition! The first book to explore Stanley Kubrick's archives and the most comprehensive study of the filmmaker to date is divided into 2 parts. In 1968, when Stanley Kubrick was asked to comment on the metaphysical significance of 2001: A Space Odyssey, he replied: 'It's not a message I ever intended to convey in words. 2001 is a nonverbal experience (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

by Dominique Jando & Linda Granfield During its heyday one hundred years ago, the American circus was the largest show-biz industry the world had ever seen. The spectacle of death-defying daredevils, strapping super-heroes and scantily-clad starlets, fearless animal trainers, and startling freaks gripped the American imagination, and ultimately paved the way for film and television to take root in the modern era. Long before the Beat generation made 'on the road' expeditions popular, the circus personified the experience and offered many young Americans the dream of adventure, reinvention, and excitement. This book brings to life the grit and glamour behind the circus phenomenon. Organized into nine thematic chapters, the book sheds new light on circus history, from a behind-the-scenes look at life on the move, to the freedoms enjoyed by early female performers, to the innovative production skills that demanded as much know-how as a modern-day film production. For the first time ever, contemporary readers can now experience the legend of the American circus in full effect. The book's broad subject matter, riveting images, and diverse visual material will appeal both to the circus aficionado and those who have never before been to circus. by Dr. Jurgen Muller From horror to romance, noir to slapstick, adventure to tragedy, epic to musical, western to new wave, all film genres are represented in this wide-ranging and devilishly fun compendium. Metropolis? Check. Modern Times? Yep. Citizen Kane, The Seven Samurai? Of course. A Clockwork Orange? You bet. Plus The Godfather, Annie Hall, Blue Velvet, Pulp Fiction - and so many more cinematic gems. Think of this collection as a celebration of contrasts, an homage to the seventh art, a gathering of greats, and a nostalgic romp through celluloid history. Chronological entries each include a synopsis, cast/crew listings, technical information, actor/director bios, trivia, and list of awards, as well as film stills, production photos, and the original poster for each film. edited by Jurgen Muller The 1970s: that magical era betwixt the swinging 60s and the decadent 80s, the epoch of leisure suits and Afros, the age of disco music and platform shoes. As war raged on in Vietnam and the cold war continued to escalate, Hollywood began to heat up, recovering from its commercial crisis with box-office successes such as Star Wars, Jaws, The Exorcist, and The Godfather. Thanks to directors like Spielberg and Lucas, American cinema gave birth to a new phenomenon: the blockbuster. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, while the Nouvelle Vague died out in France, its influence extended to Germany, where the New German Cinema of Fassbinder, Wenders, and Herzog had its heyday. The sexual revolution made its way to the silver screen (cautiously in the US, more freely in Europe) most notably in Bertolucci's steamy, scandalous Last Tango in Paris. Amidst all this came a wave of nostalgic films (The Sting, American Graffiti) and Vietnam pictures (Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter), the rise of the anti-hero (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman), and the prestigious, short-lived genre, blaxploitation. (A) Ed Fox California native Ed Fox thought he was the only young man who checked out a woman's feet before her face, and most of the time couldn't meet his models' eyes for fear they'd discern his secret. Then he became the official foot photographer for Leg Show magazine, and he realized there were thousands of men just like himself - except without the talent to capture their passion on film. Since then, Ed Fox has become internationally known for a sensual photographic style that captures every curve of a woman's body, right down to the tips of her toes. Ed Fox II comes with a 60-minute original DVD, bringing the still photos to vibrant life. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

The original Big Butt Book featured a great cross section of delectable rears from the 1950s to the present day. Here, since life is such an ironic deal, we decided to pare the original content down to just the biggest and the best, in-your-face phatties to which the great Sir Mix-a-Lot alluded when penning, 'My anaconda don't want none, unless you've got buns, hun.' Then we added in about 30 new photos, just to be generous. Now in these 150 plus photos you'll see the big and the bountiful, then the bigger and more bountiful, in black and white and in color. The models may be largely anonymous, but their curves are legendary, and now that they're collected in a discrete little package. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror
