esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Using the power of the Goddess archetype in surreal, natural settings, Brad Kunkle's paintings inspire people to listen to their own inner truth. After selling out his debut solo exhibition in New York City on opening night in 2010, Brad Kunkle has become internationally known for his unique use of gold and silver leaf in contemporary oil paintings. His themes explore the shedding of dogmas inherited from previous generations, intuition and the power of feminine energies as guides for seeking enlightenment in symbiosis with the natural world. Using the power of the Goddess archetype, Kunkle's paintings inspire people to listen to their own inner truth. His imagery drowns out society's expectations and serves to enrich its viewers' state of happiness. Each work ties into the surreal moments in life when serendipitous events happen as a result of listening to ourselves. Kunkle paints the shifting illumination of gilded surfaces that serves as a visual display of its otherworldly elusiveness. Alk?m?: The Art of Brad Kunkle features over 100 paintings and a dozen studies handpicked by the artist in an oversized format. Numerous paintings include details or alternative lighting carefully photographed under the supervision of the artist. This oeuvre is more than a decade in the making. The design-along with every nuance of this book's creation-has been treated as its own art object, a collection that serves as a direct extension of the artist. This 352-page Xenozoic book is a handy-to-hold collection of all the classic Xenozoic Tales comic stories written and drawn by Mark Schultz. This is a new printing with a new cover. Welcome to the Xenozoic Age, a post-apocalyptic landscape where dinosaurs roam freely…and humanity is the endangered species! 'What a strange new world, to have such creatures in it!' Forced into hiding by a global ecological cataclysm, humans emerge from their underground warrens half a millennium later to discover that the Earth has been totally transformed. All of the familiar flora and fauna are gone, replaced by a radically altered natural order populated by rampaging dinosaurs and strange new creatures. It takes guts, grim determination, ingenuity and a whole lot of old-fashioned luck just to survive, much less thrive, in this alien wilderness-all qualities that ace mechanic Jack Tenrec, lovely scientist Hannah Dundee and their friends possess in abundance. But even the worthiest of these hardy souls are hard-pressed to surmount the obstacles presented by their new homeland. And when those trials are further compounded by the underhanded and selfish actions of the cutthroat human scavengers they encounter, even the best-equipped and bravest among them might not endure. Xenozoic combines lush and richly realized ink-and-brush artwork with a pulp-fueled narrative to create an action-packed fantasy-an unrelenting adventure that also serves as a subtle cautionary fable concerning the unforeseen consequences that shortsighted present-day decisions might have upon future generations. Over 350 pen-and-ink drawings by Edwin Austin Abbey collected in a single volume. Edwin Austin Abbey (1852-1911) was born just two years after the inaugural release of Harper's Monthly Magazine. Starting with his first published drawing in December 1870 at age 18, Abbey's life-long association with the publisher resulted in hundreds of drawings found within the pages of Harper's Monthly Magazine and Harper's Weekly as well as Harper & Brothers books. The resulting exposure throughout the U.S. and Europe secured an extensive level of recognition. Abbey had the rarefied appeal to everyone from the average reader to the most prestigious artists of the day. The inclusion of Abbey's illustrations in these periodicals helped to expand the reach of the poetry, stories and essays that they accompanied to a massive audience. This book focuses on Abbey's line art for the magazines and books published by Harper & Brothers, beginning with his earliest works as a new professional in the field. The collection contains over 350 drawings. These delineated the poetry of Robert Herrick and enhanced such books as The Deserted Village, Old Songs, She Stoops to Conquer and The Quiet Life. Drawings created for numerous short stories and poetry are displayed here as well. Also collected are Abbey's exquisite series of drawings done over the course of twenty years for The Comedies of William Shakespeare, followed by The Shakespeare Tragedies. His painstaking devotion to research while securing the appropriate costumes, props and models for his drawings was legendary. The results are some of the most revered illustrations ever created, which continue to astound aficionados and inspire artists generations after Abbey's last drawing was made. An extensive new essay by Alice A. Carter offers a fresh look at Edwin Austin Abbey, his life and career. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

Writers' and Artists' Names: Art and captions by Mark Schultz. Introduction by Fred Perry Synopsis: A compendium of illustrations charting the artistic process from conception to final creation? This fifth volume of Various Drawings showcases a generous selection of private art and commissions, along with a smattering of previously published pieces, all created by Mark Schultz over the past two years. A wealth of sketches, preliminaries, studies and finished art, this new installment will appeal to longtime fans of Mark's work, as well as those discerning souls who seek only the best examples of modern imaginative illustration to add to their personal collections. Despite being an acknowledged modern master of pencil and brush and ink, Schultz has never stopped expanding his visual vocabulary, never shied away from experimenting, never slowed in his relentless pursuit of graphic Nirvana. Nor has he forgotten his first loves and obsessions: pulp and noir-fueled dames, otherworldly SF and fantasy pinups, slavering dinosaurs and fearsome women, gleaming spaceships and alluring cosmic coeds. Schultz brings all of them-even entire worlds-to pulsing life with his pencil or brush, the slightest nimbus of tint, a revelatory breath of dry brushstroke upon the page. Herein reside Hanna Dundee of the Xenozoic age, the bravos featured in the forthcoming Storms at Sea, a glorious 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea centerfold, and stranger vistas still. About Mark Schultz Mark Schultz loves a good story, always has. His lifelong interest in the sciences and natural history led him to create the award-winning Xenozoic tales and co-create the undersea adventure SubHuman, as well as to write such non-fiction projects as The Stuff of Life, a Graphic Guide to Genetics and DNA. He has illustrated a collection of Robert E. Howard's Conan of Cimmeria and the autobiography of Charles R. Knight. Currently, he is completing the visuals for his Storms at Sea novella.
