esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
We've unearthed some more little horrors for our latest volume of Classic Horror Comics! Starting with Do You Believe in Nightmares, originally these stories were produced for Charlton editor Al Fago, who when he left reportedly sold them to St. John. And with the likes of the 'Nightmare' served up for us by the great Steve Ditko, where a man attempts to avoid the fate that his wife has dreamed for him, it's a good job he did! And in the 1958 series of Eerie we have everything from 'Up Pops The Devil!' with Mister Lucifer, no less, to 'The Mirror of Cagliostro' featuring the Italian adventurer and self-styled magician with a passion for various occult arts! Collects Do You Believe in Nightmares #1-2 (November 1957-January 1958), Eerie #1, #8-9 (1958). (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

After a seaquake, a huge lizard-like creature walked out of the ocean and almost destroyed a fishing village in Ireland. Fortunately for the village, the same quake that brought the 65 foot monster to land has also grounded a salvage ship, the crew of which proved up to the task of capturing the beast. Instead of killing it, or turning it over to the government, they decided to take it to London and put it on display for profit. Looking to be a huge success, things became more complicated when it was discovered the monster, dubbed Gorgo, was really just a youngster and it's 200 foot tall mother was coming for him! Previously released as a hard cover and now available for the first time in our popular SOFTEE format. Collects Gorgo #6-10 (April-December 1962). (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Synopsis: Magazine Enterprises - GHOST RIDER VOL 1 ISSUES #1 - #5 August 1950 - 1951 Created by Dick Ayers and Ray Krank - Rex Fury was originally known as the Calico Kid, who together with his white horse Spectre became the GHOST RIDER! Wearing a white outfit covered with phosphorus and using a cape that had phosphorescent on one side and black on the other, he could cover parts of his body to give the illusion that he was merely a floating head or pair of hands. To further the illusion, he wielded a black lariat and black bullwhip - even Spectre glowed in the dark! The Ghost Rider battled many foes - who like him - were not truly supernatural at all, such as an imposter of Frankenstein's Monster and the Harpy, werewolves and vampires! The character was the inspiration for Marvel's Phantom Rider, also co-created by Dick Ayers! So saddle up your horse and lasso your very own copy of this comic presented to you just like the original from cover to cover - but don't delay cos this ghost could have disappeared by sun rise! The Spirit is a fictional masked crime fighter created by cartoonist Will Eisner, who fights crime with the blessing of the city's police commissioner Dolan, an old friend. Despite the Spirit's origin as detective/criminologist Denny Colt, his real identity was rarely referred to after his first appearance, and for all intents and purposes he was simply 'The Spirit.' The stories are presented in a wide variety of styles, from straight forward crime drama and noir to lighthearted adventure, from mystery and horror to comedy and love stories, often with hybrid elements that twisted genre and reader expectations. Comic book stories from the 1940s and 1950s may depict some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once commonplace in American culture. Such depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. While not representing the publisher's view of today's society, these stories are printed as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Amazing Man was the second superhero after Superman to have a comic book named after him. Historians credit his creation variously to writer-artist Bill Everett and art director Lloyd Jacquet, founder of The Funnies Inc., although some credit may be due to Grace Everett, who helped with research. In 1914, an orphaned child named John Aman was chosen by the Tibetan Council of Seven and trained to be a superman, both in mental and physical perfection. His powers include super strength, invulnerability and the ability to make himself disappear in a cloud of green vapour. When he turned twenty-five, after his final tests, he is sent into the world to combat crime and injustice, returning to America to become the heroic Amazing Man. Small is beautiful and don't let anyone tell you different. Case in point, Toby Press, which also used the imprint Minoan and found fame (of a sort) by getting their knuckles rapped by the EC crew for using Gaines & Co.'s title 'Tales of Terror.' But they didn't need to pilfer from others with Tales of Horror, the (retitled) magazine's noteworthy homage to the likes of prose stylist John Collier. So take a bow guys, we're in the presence of greatness. Let's all doff our beanies to Moe Marcus, Ben Brown, Bernard Baily, Frank Giacoia, Rocco Mastroserio, Jack Sparling, Mel Keefer, Howard Rosenberger, Bill Molno and George Olesen, heroes one and all. Hey, don't worry about that creak from the staircase, it's nothing to worry about. If you don't believe me, then get out of that chair and see for yourself. Hmm, just one minute, though; it seems to be getting a little louder. And is that hoarse rustling actually breathing?
