esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

In the 1980s, writer Steve Gerber was embroiled in a lawsuit against Marvel Comics over ownership of his creation Howard The Duck. To raise funds for legal fees, Gerber asked Jack Kirby to contribute to a benefit comic titled Destroyer Duck. Without hesitation, Kirby, in his own dispute with Marvel at the time, donated his services for the first issue, and the duo took aim at their former employer in an outrageous five-issue run. With biting satire and guns blazing, Duke 'Destroyer' Duck battled the thinly veiled Godcorp (whose infamous credo was 'Grab it all! Own it all! Drain it all!'), its evil leader Ned Packer and the (literally) spineless Booster Cogburn, Medea (a parody of Daredevil's Elektra), and more! Now, all five Gerber/Kirby issues are collected. relettered and reproduced from Jack's unbridled, uninked pencil art! Also included are select examples of Alfredo Alcala's unique inking style over Kirby on the original issues, Gerber's script pages, an historical Introduction by Mark Evanier, and an Afterword by Buzz Dixon. CBC gets trapped in the world Steve Gerber made, as we devote the spotlight to the late, great creator of Howard the Duck in a comprehensive look at his life and creative achievements, from Man Thing to Kiss, Crazy to Thundarr, from Destroyer Duck to an Elf with a Gun! One of Gerber's most preeminent friends and collaborators was Mary Skrenes, who shares a rare, wildly entertaining, and extensive interview about her Las Vegas upbringing, 1970s comic book writing career (in part as 'Virgil North'!), co-creation of Omega the Unknown, and help developing much of the Howard the Duck series, including her invention of Beverly Switzler! Our cover artist, Val Mayerik, talks about his life with certain foul-mouthed fowl! In addition, with the help of Roy Thomas, we take a good look at the never-realized Excelsior! This 'What If Kirby...?' issue takes a trip through alternate timelines to discern what might've happened if Jack hadn't been stopped cold in his attempts at revolutionizing comics. We'll consider his ill-fated Speak-Out Series of upscale magazines, DC's abandonment of the Fourth World, his original rejected Spider-Man presentation, Fredric Wertham's effect on Mainline Comics, and even the CIA's involvement with the Lord of Light project! Had things been different, how would Jack's career and output have changed? Plus, Tom Kraft discusses his journey to create and build the 'What If Kirby' website, and teaming with favorite Kirby inkers (including Royer, Sinnott, and Ayers) to produce reimagined Kirby artwork. Also, there's a rare Kirby interview, Mark Evanier and our other regular columnists, a classic Simon & Kirby story, a deluxe gallery of Kirby pencil art, and more! Cover inks and colors by Damian Pickador Zajko. Edited by John Morrow. (immagine) Categoria: Magazines
