esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

MIKE MIGNOLA’s fascination with ghosts and monsters began at an early age; reading Dracula at age twelve introduced him to Victorian literature and folklore, from which he has never recovered. Starting in 1982 as a bad inker for Marvel Comics, he evolved into a not-so-bad artist. By the late 1980s, he’d begun to develop his unique graphic style, with mainstream projects like Cosmic Odyssey and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. In 1994, he published the first Hellboy series through Dark Horse, leading to over two decades of comics spinoffs, prose books, animated films, and live-action films. He worked on Francis Ford Coppola’s film Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), and with director Guillermo del Toro on Blade II (2002), Hellboy (2004), and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). A new Hellboy film by Neil Marshall is in the works. Mike’s books have earned numerous awards and are published in many countries. He lives in Southern California with his wife, daughter, and cat.JOHN ARCUDI has been telling lies since he was a boy. Eventually it became clear that this was the only thing he was any good at. After a stint writing for Marvel, he ended up at Dark Horse, where he wrote, among other things, The Mask. John is best known as cocreator of Major Bummer and A God Somewhere, both for DC Comics, and collaborating on a whole mess of comics with Mike Mignola. Recent work includes his original series Rumble and Dead Inside, as well as Mike Mignola’s Lobster Johnson.CHRIS ROBERSON is the co-creator of iZOMBIE (with Mike Allred) and EDISON REX (with Dennis Culver), and the co-writer of HELLBOY AND THE B.P.R.D and other titles set in the world of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy. In addition to his numerous comics projects, he has written more than a dozen novels and three dozen short stories.LAURENCE CAMPBELL worked as a graphic designer for six years before studying, and later teaching, at Central Saint Martins. During this time he started drawing comics for Caliber Comics before working for Image, 2000 AD and Marvel on titles like Punisher Max, The Dark Tower and Marvel Universe vs. Wolverine. He is now happy drawing monsters while hearing his family around the house.CHRISTOPHER MITTEN is originally from the cow-dappled expanse of southern Wisconsin, and now spends his time roaming the misty wilds of suburban Chicago, drawing little people in little boxes. He can be found online at www.ChristopherMitten.com and on Instagram @Chris_Mitten.PAUL GRIST is a British writer and artist known for his creator-owned series Kane and Jack Staff, published through his own Dancing Elephant Press and collected by Image Comics. He has also worked on Rift War! (Titan Comics), Judge Dredd (2000AD), and St. Swithin’s Day with Grant Morrison (Trident Comics). North Carolina native JASON LATOUR has been making comics for over a decade, from the award winning Southern Bastards with Jason Aaron, to the hit Marvel series Spider-Gwen with Robbi Rodriguez. When not creating comics, Latour can be found rapping under the name Old Youngin’. DAVE STEWART was born on the high desert to the chatter of a rattlesnake. Despite a rare case of Sasquatch leg and the desire to run with any northbound moose migration, he found the coloring arts were a suitable profession, allowing him to build a moonshine still in the hills of Southwest Portland. His coloring garnered him industry awards, unlike his feverish gathering of dry leaves for winter bedding. And he colors on.BILL CRABTREE is an Eisner Award and Harvey Award nominated colorist who has worked in comics since 2003. Richard Corben was born in Missouri and grew up in Sunflower, Kansas,a community that worked for the Sunflower Ordinance Works, an army plant that manufactured bombs in World War II.Corben drew comics all of his life. An early effort was a series of comics about the adventures of TRAIL, the family dog. Later, he created imitations of Tarzan and Brothers of the Spear. He also showed a keen interest in animation by turning many pads of paper into animated flipbooks. While attending the Kansas City Art Institute, he concentrated on basic drawing and painting, developing skills that would become vital in creating his chosen realistic style. At that time, his college offered no courses for animation, but by using his father's 8 mm movie camera, Corben nevertheless produced a 5-minute animated film highlighting the labors of Heracles as his senior project. After graduation, Corben wanted to go to New York to launch a career in comics or animation, but he was shy and timid, and put off such a drastic move. After working in construction for his father for a while, he found a local job as an artist/animator/cameraman in a Kansas City industrial film company. During this time, despite his shyness, he found a girl to marry him. After nearly ten years at the film company, Corben felt frustrated that he really hadn't given his art career a chance. He started drawing so-called "underground" comix and fanzines at night after working a full-time job during the day. About this same time, Warren Publishing Company began a series of black-and-white horror comics, CREEPY, EERIE, and VAMPIRELLA. This was a perfect match for Corben's interests, and he drew several stories for CREEPY on speculation. Unfortunately, none of these were accepted. But the "wannabe" comic book artist persisted and even met James Warren at a science fiction convention. Finally, Warren and his editor, Bill Dubay, relented and started sending Corben scripts to draw. At last, a foothold was established in his comic career. Even with the responsibilities of a wife, a daughter and a mortgage, the young artist now felt confident enough to quit his full-time job at the industrial film company and devote all his time to drawing. The underground comix surge spread to Europe, and requests to reprint Corben underground features began to appear. His fantasy character, DEN, was created for the American underground comic, GRIM WIT; DEN was next printed in the French METAL HURLANT, and then printed in the American HEAVY METAL. During this era, Richard and Dona started FANTAGOR PRESS, a publishing company featuring Richard's comics. Unfortunately, the business wasn't enough to support them. Next, Corben began drawing for American comics - D.C., MARVEL, DARK HORSE, and others.Corben believed that maintaining drawing skills required constant practice. He regularly attended life drawing classes all throughout his career. He found the activity both an ongoing challenge and a source of pleasure. His love and interest in animation continued throughout his lifetime and motivated him to create digitally animated movies he shared on his web site and Facebook page.Richard was married for 56 years to Dona, and is the father of watercolor artist and comic book colorist, Beth. His life and love was devoted to his family and his art. He was a humble man and an extremely kind, good man.Richard Corben died December 2, 2020.

For the first time in English comes the critically acclaimed manga from John Tarachine, the author of Witch of Thistle Castle, that's perfect for fans of BL Metamorphosis and Hirayasumi! Umiko, a grandma, realizes that she has the same desire to make movies as university student Kai—and soon she enrolls in Kai’s film school!“It’s not the movies you like…you like watching the people watching the movies.”Just what are you going to do with the rest of your life? It’s the question you’ll always have to answer, no matter your age. Umiko Chino is a 65 year-old retired woman in mourning for her late husband. Remembering how they used to watch films together, Umiko goes to the movie theater for the first time in years, where she meets Kai, an attractive, ambiguous young man who studies filmmaking at a nearby art school. They would seem to have nothing in common, except for this—both of them sometimes like to look more at the way the audience reacts to a movie than the movie itself. Kai believes Umiko has the same deep desire he possesses to experience how people respond to something they made… and challenges her to stake the rest of her life discovering that thrill.Soon Umiko surprises herself by enrolling in the same film school as Kai. But sailing into this new sea, she’s suddenly inside the currents of her fellow students’ lives, a much younger generation that she struggles to understand, driven by their own passions and their own relationships. Who’s really experienced at life, and is it old age or observation that brings wisdom? And does what you’re looking for change when you look with your eyes instead of through a camera lens…?

Richard Corben was born in Missouri and grew up in Sunflower, Kansas, a community that worked for the Sunflower Ordinance Works, an army plant that manufactured bombs in World War II.Corben drew comics all of his life. For the first time in English comes the critically acclaimed manga from John Tarachine, the author of Witch of Thistle Castle, that's perfect for fans of BL Metamorphosis! How do you do, fellow kids? In hopes of writing realistic film dialogue, grandma Umiko goes barhopping and clubbing with her young art school classmates!Motivated by the mysterious young Kai to enter art school and become an aspiring filmmaker, Umiko’s first attempt at a movie gets a less than rousing response from her instructor, who critiques the dialogue she wrote as not reflecting how young people actually talk. Saying that a director needs to strike a balance between their intended vision and what the audience will perceive, he suggests to Umiko that the problem isn’t her objectivity, it’s the 65 year old’s…lack of experience!Invited to go out drinking by Yamaguchi, a classmate born in a different century, Umiko breaks out of her normal retiree routine, seizing the chance to learn how the youth of today socialize. She may be able to handle her beer and the beat on the club floor…but she gets much more social interaction than she bargained for when she overhears in the restroom Yamaguchi drunkenly confess their love to Kai!

Build skyward in this graphic novel set in the world of Minecraft! It takes teamwork to adventure across the world of Minecraft, and that’s something brothers Cobb and Flint don’t have. But when their young friend, Rochelle, heads off on her own into a monster-infested zone, the two must work together to try and find her before some nasty beast does.Cobb considers himself a simple farmer and, until recently, a bit of a loner. He’s content to mind his crops, gather resources, and be left alone. But fate has more in store for Cobb than intercepting the wayward villagers who replace his carrots with potatoes! When a mysterious treasure map captures the imagination of Cobb’s young friend Rochelle, she tries to inspire his adventurous side. But when Cobb refuses to join her, Rochelle decides to follow the map all on her own—leaving Cobb a copy in case he changes his mind. Sure enough, Cobb is thrust into action when his adventure-obsessed brother, Flint, points out that the map leads straight through an area so dense with hostile mobs that even he (brave and strong as he is) avoids it. The threat of danger to their friend Rochelle propels them on a journey across biomes unknown, filled with grand surprises they’ll never forget. The two brothers couldn’t be more different, but they must work together if they hope to help Rochelle discover the treasure she seeks. The trio makes for an unusual squad—but sometimes surviving the world of Minecraft requires unlikely friendships.

Kentaro Miura created his first manga, Miuranger, at age 10, drawing the series for an audience of his classmates; by high school he had moved into Japan’s dynamic self-publishing (doujinshi) scene. Futanabi, a manga Miura had submitted for admission to art school, was nominated for Best New Author Work in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine (today the home of Blue Lock and Rent-A-Girlfriend). In 1989, Miura began the dark fantasy manga series Berserk, his life’s work, with the Japanese publisher Hakusensha. Adapted into three anime TV series and a series of films, Berserk has sold approximately 70 million copies worldwide. Miura-sensei passed away suddenly in 2021 at the age of 54, leaving a legacy of epic storytelling, and a readership that only continues to grow.Studio Gaga is the team of assistants with whom Kentaro Miura worked to create Berserk; the studio currently consists of Kurosaki, Akio Miyaji, Nobuhiro Hirai, Naohide Nagashima, Hideaki Sugimoto, Shunki Fujimoto, and Takumi Yamamoto. With the passing of Miura-sensei in 2021, Studio Gaga is carrying on the story and art of the Berserk saga under the supervision of Kouji Mori. In a 2023 interview with major Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun, Mori remarked that while he gives advice on drafts during the process of making Berserk, the final drawings are the work of Studio Gaga. “Kurosaki, the chief of Studio Gaga, has extraordinary drawing skill, as does the rest of their staff. I believe that after they complete Berserk, they will become famous in the manga world.”Kouji Mori was best friends and an artistic collaborator with Kentaro Miura since they met at age 15 as aspiring manga creators; in high school the pair even attempted to break into the industry together, with a co-authored manga submitted to Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. Mori’s first major manga work made its debut in 2000, the 18-volume Holyland, later adapted into live-action TV shows in both Japan and Korea. In a 2016 interview published by Crunchyroll, Miura commented that the Guts/Griffith dynamic of Berserk was inspired by his relationship with Mori, “but sometimes I would be Guts, and sometimes I would be Griffith.” Following Miura’s passing in 2021, Mori remarked to The Asahi Shimbun that he would supervise the continuation of Berserk based upon his remembered conversations with Miura on his plans for the manga’s future direction: “I tried to recall every detail to tell the story. And I am only doing episodes Miura told me about. In terms of dialogue, I am only telling the story as Miura related it to me. Naturally, it will be incomplete. But I think I can tell the story almost in the way that Miura wanted.”
