Modeled after products that were popular in the 1930s and 1940s, the new statuettes being produced by Dark Horse are designed and manufactured consistent with earlier 'syroco'-style figures. This month we announce #10 in the series, The Goon, from Eric Powell's Eisner Award-winning series. Beneath the Salt Plains of Utah, the billionaire collector Henry Van Statten holds the last relic of an alien race. When the Doctor and Rose investigate, they discover that the Doctor's oldest and most deadly enemy is about to break free. It's a fight to the death, with Rose caught in the middle. The second piece is from the 'Age of Steel' episode from the tenth series (new series 2006, Part 2 of a two-part story), starring David Tennant as the Doctor. He has now embraced them all with success. In March 2013, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles will install a major career retrospective, My Door Is Always Open, that will run for six months. Dark Horse is celebrating with a new range of merchandise, all selected and approved by Gary Baseman. The Gary Baseman Veritas Pins will be a series of five deluxe sculpted metal pins, all with the theme of 'veritas' (Latin for 'truth'), newly designed by Baseman.
