esempio: @author Stan Lee
@artist artista: cerca solo articoli di questo artista. Per
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@publisher editore: cerca solo articoli di questo editore.
Per esempio: @publisher Marvel
Nota:1 potete anche usare le varianti in italiani: @autore,
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
La ricerca tenterà di individuare termini somiglianti oppure
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
È possibile effettuare la ricerca anche inserendo direttamente il
codice a barre.

Peter David is one of the industry’s most prolific and versatile writers whose record-breaking stint on Incredible Hulk remains a fan-favorite to this day. His similarly long-running — and critically acclaimed — association with X-Factor began in the early 1990s and continued in 2005 and 2014. His other Marvel work includes Captain Marvel, two lengthy stints on Spider-Man 2099, Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider and the smash-hit Symbiote Spider-Man limited series and its sequels with artist Greg Land. David is also a novelist and screenwriter. Among his credits are some forty Star Trek tie-ins; original novels such as Sir Apropos of Nothing, Howling Mad and Knight Life; movies Trancers 4 and Trancers 5; and episodes of Babylon 5 and Crusade. He also co-created the TV show Space Cases with actor-writer Bill Mumy.Bob Harras edited several titles as Ralph Macchio’s assistant, mostly tie-ins such as Micronauts, Rom, Saga of Crystar and U.S. 1. He subsequently became chief editor of the X-Men titles and wrote for multiple series, including a three-year run on Avengers. Graduating to editor in chief, he oversaw well-received runs of Captain America, Daredevil, Deadpool and other titles, as well as the controversial second Clone Saga in the 1990s’ Spider-Man titles. Harras has since worked as contributing editor at WildStorm and collected editions editor for DC Comics. He began a decade-long stint as DC’s editor in chief in 2010.Steve Englehart’s history-making contributions to the Marvel Universe began with the Beast’s solo feature in Amazing Adventures, in which the eloquent X-Man first assumed furry form. As Avengers writer, he masterminded such major events as “The Avengers/Defenders War†(in both teams’ titles) and “The Celestial Madonna Saga.†In Captain America, he identified and solved the “mystery†of the 1950s Captain America (later revived by Ed Brubaker), and gave the true Cap the alternate identity of Nomad. Englehart’s Dr. Strange storyline in Marvel Premiere established the character as Sorcerer Supreme and covered the creation of the universe itself. At DC, he helped revamp Batman, Green Lantern, Superman and other major heroes for the 1970s. Back at Marvel, he wrote the first few years of West Coast Avengers and Silver Surfer. His published novels include Countdown to Flight, Hellstorm (part of the TALON Force series), Majorca, The Point Man and, with wife Terry Beach, books in the DNAgers young-adult series. Englehart has also written TV episodes and designed video games.Jeff Purves was born in Japan in 1961; his family later moved to the United States, settling in Cheyenne, Wyoming. While studying as an artist, Purves got a job at Marvel Productions in California doing storyboard cleanup, beginning his successful career in animation working for studios including Warner Brothers, Walt Disney and Hanna-Barbera. In comics, he is best remembered for his lengthy collaboration with Peter David on Incredible Hulk.Alex Saviuk established himself as a major Marvel artist with a seven-year run on Web of Spider-Man. He also worked on the animated-series tie-in Spider-Man Adventures and drew the Amazing Spider-Man comic strip from scripts by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber. At DC, he penciled and inked Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and other titles. Keith Pollard drew simultaneous runs on three of Marvel’s longest-running titles: Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and Thor, including Roy Thomas and Mark Gruenwald’s “Eternals Saga.†During the 1990s, he singlehandedly penciled hundreds of characters for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Master Edition.Beginning as Stan Lee’s production assistant, Herb Trimpe (1939-2015) went on to pencil a seven-year run on Marvel mainstay Incredible Hulk — during which he debuted the future X-Man, Wolverine — as well as 1970s classics Marvel Team-Up, Shogun Warriors and Godzilla. He was equally prolific during the 1980s on Nick Fury, The ’Nam and G.I. Joe; the 1990s saw him illustrate Marvel’s First Family on Fantastic Four Unlimited. Trimpe’s war-story credits also include the introduction of the Phantom Eagle, the WWI aviator hero whose adventures were later chronicled by Garth Ennis.

Acclaimed author and screenwriter Benjamin Percy broke into comics in 2014 with a two-issue Batman story arc in Detective Comics. He is also known for his work on Nightwing, Green Arrow and Teen Titans for DC Comics, and James Bond: Black Box for Dynamite Entertainment. Percy wrote two seasons of Marvel’s Wolverine podcast series: Wolverine: The Long Night, which was listed as one of the top fifteen podcasts of the year by Apple and won the iHeart Radio Award for best scripted podcast in 2018, and Wolverine: The Lost Trail. In print, he was a key contributor to the X-Men’s Krakoan Era as writer of X-Force and Wolverine. Percy blazed a new trail for the Spirit of Vengeance with his deliciously dark revival of Ghost Rider and pitted some of Marvel’s greatest heroes against the iconic movie hunters, the Predators. After the mash-up concept Hellverine proved a smash hit in Percy’s Wolverine/Ghost Rider: Weapons of Vengeance crossover, the writer launched a Hellverine limited series followed by an ongoing series — with Wolverine’s son, Akihiro, assuming the mantle. And Percy was the ideal choice to unite the ultimate odd couple in the pages of Deadpool/Wolverine.Stephanie Phillips is an American comics writer whose work has appeared with a myriad of publishers. After earning a PhD in rhetoric and composition at the University of South Florida, she started writing for both Dark Horse and DC Comics before becoming a breakout star with her instant-classic run on DC’s Harley Quinn. Phillips continued her success with her widely acclaimed creator-owned series Grim, published by BOOM! Studios, solidifying her as one of the industry’s hottest writing talents. For Marvel, she has written acclaimed titles about iconic duos such as Rogue & Gambit and Black Widow & Hawkeye, as well as penning two smash-hit series in Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider and Phoenix.Brazilian artist Luke Ross has been drawing comics since the early ’90s, proving himself an able stylist of super-hero action on titles such as X-Man, Sensational Spider-Man, Green Lantern and JSA. Ross stepped in for Mike Perkins as foil to Steve Epting on writer Ed Brubaker’s Captain America and joined a rotation of Marvel’s top artists on the thrice-monthly Amazing Spider-Man. His other Marvel credits include Secret Avengers, Dark Tower: The Gunslinger — The Little Sisters of Eluria, Star Wars: Darth Maul and Star Wars: Thrawn.Brazilian artist Luke Ross has been drawing comics since the early ’90s, proving himself an able stylist of super-hero action on titles such as X-Man, Sensational Spider-Man, Green Lantern and JSA. After beginning his writing career on DC horror titles, David Michelinie moved to Marvel. He and co-writer/inker Bob Layton established Iron Man’s battle with alcoholism, use of specialized armor variants and vendetta against Doctor Doom, as well as other aspects of the character that endure to this day. Michelinie’s unique blend of action, suspense and humor distinguished not only Iron Man, but also Amazing Spider-Man. With artist Todd McFarlane, he introduced the vicious vigilante Venom; he also wrote the first Venom limited series, Lethal Protector. Michelinie’s run as Amazing writer was second in length only to that of Stan Lee himself, while he also authored tie-in titles Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man and Spider-Man. He moved from Marvel’s flagship character to DC’s with a stint on Superman’s Action Comics, later returning to the world of Tony Stark for writing collaborations with Bob Layton on Iron Man: Legacy of Doom and Iron Man: The End.Bob Layton began as a prolific and popular inker for Charlton, Marvel and DC Comics, where he first teamed with longtime collaborator David Michelinie on Claw the Unconquered and Star Hunters. The Michelinie-Layton duo’s writing work on Iron Man (1978-1982 and 1987-1989) is one of the most popular and influential interpretations of that character. Leaving Marvel in 1990, he became a key writer/artist/editor at Valiant Comics, where he co-created characters such as X-O Manowar and rose to the post of editor in chief before departing. He still does occasional freelance work for DC and Marvel, notably Michelinie-Layton reunion projects Iron Man: Bad Blood (2000), Iron Man: Legacy of Doom (2008) and Iron Man: The End (2009).Bill Mantlo began his Marvel career on Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, in which he introduced White Tiger, one of the industry’s earliest Hispanic super heroes. Eventually writing stories for almost every Marvel title, he did some of his most fondly remembered work on Incredible Hulk and Spectacular Spider-Man. He also created Rocket Raccoon, launched Cloak & Dagger in a pair of miniseries and guided Alpha Flight through some of its most harrowing ordeals. Mantlo excelled at integrating licensed properties into the Marvel Universe, as demonstrated by Micronauts and Rom, both of which he wrote from start to finish. At DC, he wrote the Invasion miniseries for one of the company’s biggest crossover events.John Romita Jr. is a modern-day comic-art master, following in his legendary father’s footsteps. Timeless runs on Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil established him as his own man artistically, and his work on Wolverine and World War Hulk is among the most explosive comic art of the 21st century. In addition to Eternals with writer Neil Gaiman, JRJR teamed with Mark Millar on the creator-owned Kick-Ass, later developed into a blockbuster feature film starring Nicolas Cage. Spidey fans rejoiced at the artist’s return to Amazing Spider-Man with the “Brand New Day†storylines “New Ways To Die†and “Character Assassination.†He later helped relaunch Avengers with writer Brian Michael Bendis and Captain America with Rick Remender, and contributed to the blockbuster crossover Avengers vs. X-Men. For DC Comics, he drew big-name characters such as Superman, Batman and the Suicide Squad before making a welcome return home to Marvel and Amazing Spider-Man.Bob Layton began as a prolific and popular inker for Charlton, Marvel and DC Comics, where he first teamed with longtime collaborator David Michelinie on Claw the Unconquered and Star Hunters. The Michelinie-Layton duo’s writing work on Iron Man (1978-1982 and 1987-1989) is one of the most popular and influential interpretations of that character. He still does occasional freelance work for DC and Marvel, notably Michelinie-Layton reunion projects Iron Man: Bad Blood (2000), Iron Man: Legacy of Doom (2008) and Iron Man: The End (2009).John Byrne has worked continuously in the comics industry as both writer and artist since 1975. After he initially collaborated with writer Chris Claremont on Iron Fist, Byrne and Claremont moved on to X-Men for a run still regarded as one of the title’s finest. Byrne contributed an equally famed stint on Fantastic Four, earning comparisons to the original Lee/Kirby issues for his imaginative plotlines and dynamic artwork. He also spun Alpha Flight into its own title. In 1986, he revamped DC’s flagship hero, Superman, reimagining the Man of Steel in a historic project heralded by a Time magazine cover. His remarkable contribution to the Marvel Universe extends to memorable associations with virtually every major hero, including celebrated runs on Captain America, Iron Man, Sensational She-Hulk, Namor the Sub-Mariner and Thing. In the 21st century, Byrne’s considerable body of work includes IDW’s Star Trek and Angel.Following Golden Age work at Marvel predecessor Timely Comics — as well as at Fawcett, Hillman and others — Carmine Infantino (d. 2013) made history at DC Comics, helping usher in the industry’s Silver Age with the reintroduction of the Flash, within whose title he cocreated the Elongated Man and several members of the hero’s famed Rogues’ Gallery. His 1961 story “Flash of Two Worlds,†which literally reshaped the DC Universe by introducing the Earth-1/Earth-2 concept, won Infantino two of his eventual 12 Alley Awards. After serving as DC’s art director and publisher, Infantino returned to penciling on several titles; for Marvel, he provided notable runs on Nova, Spider-Woman and Star Wars, along with brief stints on Daredevil, Ghost Rider and Iron Man. He also drew Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man, the historic first Marvel/DC crossover.John Buscema (1927-2002) literally wrote the book on being a Marvel artist — namely, How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way — and few were better qualified. His career dated back to the Timely/Atlas era of the late ’40s and early ’50s. Soon after beginning the Marvel Age of Comics, Stan Lee recruited Buscema from the advertising field to the Marvel Bullpen. Buscema followed a long run on Avengers with the long-anticipated first Silver Surfer series. He subsequently succeeded Jack Kirby on Fantastic Four, Thor and other titles. By the time of his retirement in 1996, Buscema had penciled nearly every Marvel title — including his personal favorite, Conan the Barbarian.Jerry Bingham has penciled covers and/or stories for Black Panther, Iron Man and several Spider-Man titles. At DC, he penciled, inked and colored Mike Barr’s controversial Batman: Son of the Demon graphic novel, and penciled covers for Spectre, Warlord and DC’s Babylon 5 adaptation. He has also illustrated stories for Batman Confidential and First Comics’ Warp. During the 1990s, he became a production artist in the film industry, designing props and special effects.Alan Weiss was a popular contributor to Avengers and Captain Marvel throughout the 1970s and 1980s. More recently, he rendered a tale of a Civil War-era Batman in Batman: The Blue, the Grey and the Bat.Luke McDonnell penciled a long stint on Iron Man, encompassing the controversial storyline in which Tony Stark ceded the Iron Man armor to his friend James Rhodes. McDonnell’s work also appeared in Daredevil, Spectacular Spider-Man, What If? and elsewhere. At DC, he penciled most of John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad and its spinoff miniseries Deadshot, as well as a Justice League of America stint during its “Detroit JLA†phase. Eclipso, Green Lantern: Mosaic and Secret Origins are only a few of the other titles benefiting from his work. From his early work as letterer at Seaboard-Atlas, Alan Kupperberg went on to contribute to Marvel’s black-and-white magazines — including Crazy, for which he wrote and illustrated the sardonic shenanigans of Obnoxio the Clown. The regular artist on Roy Thomas’ Invaders, Kupperberg contributed as both writer and artist to Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, What If? and multiple Spider-Man titles. He also illustrated the Howard the Duck and Incredible Hulk comic strips; and wrote, penciled, inked, colored and lettered Obnoxio the Clown vs. the X-Men. At DC, he penciled Blue Devil, Fury of Firestorm, Justice League of America and more. He has also worked on animation projects for Don Bluth Studios and Nickelodeon.

Writer J. Michael Straczynski made pop-culture history with the epic TV series Babylon 5. In 1999, Straczynski penned Top Cow’s Rising Stars, leading to an offer from Marvel to write Amazing Spider-Man, a title he revolutionized. “JMS†went on to write Supreme Power, Fantastic Four, Bullet Points, The Twelve and a fan-favorite revival of Thor. The latter helped inspire Marvel’s Thor feature film, on which he shares a writing credit. JMS’ screenplay for Changeling was directed by Clint Eastwood and starred Angelina Jolie, while his other movie credits include Underworld: Awakening and World War Z. For DC Comics, he has written iconic characters Superman and Wonder Woman.Peter David is one of the industry’s most prolific and versatile writers whose record-breaking stint on Incredible Hulk remains a fan-favorite to this day. He also co-created the TV show Space Cases with actor-writer Bill Mumy.Hollywood writer Reginald Hudlin launched his career with the blockbuster House Party; his follow-up Boomerang grossed more than $150 million. Hudlin developed Bebe’s Kids, the first mainstream animated feature film aimed at African-American audiences, and served as BET’s President of Entertainment. In 2005, Hudlin wrote Birth of a Nation, a satirical graphic novel produced with Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder and award-winning cartoonist Kyle Baker. A longtime Marvel fan, Hudlin jumped at the opportunity to write Black Panther, as well as a run on Marvel Knights Spider-Man.Artist Mike Deodato Jr. was already a renowned illustrator in his native Brazil when he got his big break in American comics in 1994, illustrating DC’s Wonder Woman. For Marvel, he drew such series as Avengers, Elektra, Spider-Man and Incredible Hulk. After refining his inimitable style on the creator-owned Jade Warriors, he returned to Marvel for a second turn on Incredible Hulk, with writer Bruce Jones, and a stint on J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man. Deodato has forged an association with the Avengers on various titles — including collaborations with Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker and Jonathan Hickman — and demonstrated his superstar status on the event book Original Sin. Deodato joined writer Jeff Lemire in exploring one of Marvel's greatest villains in Thanos. The late Mike Wieringo established himself as one of the leading artists in the comic-book industry with his work with writer Mark Waid on DC’s Flash during a run that included the debut of Impulse. Wieringo’s continued collaboration with Waid brought him to Fantastic Four in 2002; the pair kicked off their tenure with a history-making nine-cent first issue. Wieringo’s ability to translate dynamic action to the comic-book page made him uniquely suited to launch Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in 2005 with writer Peter David.Pat Lee is best known for bringing the look and feel of Japanese anime to American comics. He provided artwork for the Marvel Knights Spider-Man chapters of “The Other†crossover.

Writer Todd Dezago began his career on X-Factor. He then penned several Clone Saga-era Spider-books, including a lengthy Spectacular Spider-Man run. Dezago soon moved to Sensational Spider-Man, where he teamed with artist Mike Wieringo. For DC Comics, Dezago co-created Young Justice, wrote the JLA: World Without Grown-Ups miniseries and penned an acclaimed run on Impulse. In 1999, Dezago and Wieringo re-teamed to create the Image Comics fantasy series Tellos, and he co-created the Perhapanauts with artist Craig Rousseau in 2003. Dezago has written several stories for Marvel’s all-ages titles, including Marvel Age Spider-Man and Super Hero Squad.A native New Yorker, writer J.M. DeMatteis has been one of comics’ most respected writers for nearly three decades. Ranging from the introspective psychological drama of Moonshadow to the offbeat comedy of Justice League to the autobiographical Brooklyn Dreams, he’s written from nearly every perspective in graphic storytelling. His long list of credits includes Captain America, Defenders, Justice League International, the groundbreaking Spider-Man storyline “Kraven’s Last Hunt," Spectre and more. His recent work includes the acclaimed children's novel Imaginalis and the popular comics-prose hybrid Abadazad books.Howard Mackie got his start at Marvel during the late 1980s as an editor and then a writer. One of his first series as full-time scribe was 1990’s massively popular Ghost Rider, which introduced the alter ego Danny Ketch to the mythos of the Spirit of Vengeance. He also wrote prolifically in the Spider-Man and X-Men titles of the ’90s.Tom DeFalco’s earliest comic-book scripts were for Archie and DC; he soon moved to Marvel, where he wrote Avengers, Machine Man and other titles, also launching Dazzler, a hit series of the early ’80s. In addition to writing long and well-received runs on Amazing Spider-Man and Thor, DeFalco edited many titles, eventually becoming editor in chief. During the 1980s, he headed the creative team that provided fictional biographies for G.I. Joe members, originally included with Hasbro’s toys and later used as the basis for multiple storylines on the animated series. Perhaps his best-known work is multi-title character Spider-Girl, whom he introduced in 1998. DeFalco has authored multiple books, including Ultimate Guides for Avengers, Fantastic Four, Hulk and Spider-Man.After beginning his writing career on DC horror titles, David Michelinie moved to Marvel. He moved from Marvel’s flagship character to DC’s with a stint on Superman’s Action Comics, later returning to the world of Tony Stark for writing collaborations with Bob Layton on Iron Man: Legacy of Doom and Iron Man: The End.Writer, editor and colorist Evan Skolnick worked on an array of Marvel Comics titles, with his most prominent assignment as a scribe being his lengthy run on New Warriors. He also wrote Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme and 2099 Unlimited, among others. Now a prominent video-game writer, his credits include Mafia III and Star Wars: Battlefront.Hired on the strength of his Official Marvel Tryout penciling submission, Mark Bagley rose to prominence as the artist of 1990s sleeper hit New Warriors. Following an acclaimed run on Amazing Spider-Man, he worked with writer Kurt Busiek on Thunderbolts. When Marvel launched its Ultimate line, Bagley and Brian Michael Bendis led the way with Ultimate Spider-Man, whose years of success made the pair the longest-running creative team in Marvel history. Bendis and Bagley have also collaborated on Avengers Assemble and the creator-owned Brilliant. His subsequent credits include Fantastic Four, Cataclysm: The Ultimates’ Last Stand, Hulk, All-New X-Men and Venom. For over 20 years, few if any projects have diagramed super-hero costumes and technology without input from professional engineer Eliot R. Brown. Iron Man's armor, Moon Knight's helicopters, the Punisher's guns, Avengers Mansion, the Guardians of the Galaxy's spaceship, all have had their secrets revealed by Brown's expert penciling. He is also known for his work with photographic art. After establishing himself on Eternity’s Ex-Mutants and First’s Badger, Ron Lim went cosmic with a six-year penciling run on Silver Surfer, followed by a collaboration with Jim Starlin on the Warlock/Thanos Infinity multi-miniseries saga. With writer Tom DeFalco, he helped create the look and characters of the MC2 universe, while he explored a different Marvel future during a 35-issue run on X-Men 2099. Lim’s other Marvel credits include Captain America, Spider-Man Unlimited and Venom: Lethal Protector. After a start as inker to his older brother John, Sal Buscema penciled Captain America, Defenders, Incredible Hulk and more. Famed for his ability to meet tight deadlines, he spread his talents across multiple genres. His 1970s work ranged from Ms. Marvel and Nova to Sub-Mariner and Spider-Woman’s first appearance in Marvel Spotlight. He was the uninterrupted artist on Spectacular Spider-Man for more than a hundred issues and penciled the web-slinger’s adventures in Marvel Team-Up, in which he and writer Bill Mantlo introduced Captain Jean DeWolff. After handling more team-ups in the Thing’s Marvel Two-in-One, he reunited with brother John on Steve Englehart’s Fantastic Four. He later provided inks for Tom DeFalco’s Spider-Girl titles and Thunderstrike miniseries.Patrick “Patch†Zircher got his start illustrating RPG-based comics for Eclipse and 3D comics for Blackthorne during the late 1980s, and drew Now Comics’ Green Hornet. He has been an artist in demand ever since. His notable Marvel credits across the decades include New Warriors, Venom: Along Came a Spider, Star Trek: Early Voyages, Iron Man: The Iron Age, Thunderbolts, Cable & Deadpool, Iron Man, Hulk, Mystery Men and Savage Avengers.Well regarded as a modern master of the macabre, artist Kyle Hotz is best known for his uniquely creepy art style. Hotz first gained notice during the 1990s with extensive credentials on a long list of horror comics. Since then, he has gone on to illustrate Incredible Hulk, Ghost Rider and Venom for Marvel Comics, as well as The Hood in collaboration with writer Brian K. Vaughan. Hotz thrilled fans of the “living dead†genre with Zombie, a four-part limited series modernizing the classic ’70s-era Marvel horror character, and its sequel, The Zombie: Simon Garth.Artist Darick Robertson illustrated all sixty issues of Transmetropolitan with writer Warren Ellis. In the Fury limited series for Marvel, Robertson and Garth Ennis presented a graphically realistic vision of what it means to be the leader of the world’s biggest spy organization. He and Ennis next collaborated on the Marvel Knights Punisher series and later launched the controversial creator-owned series The Boys, now a smash-hit streaming series. Industry legend Chris Claremont is best known for his epic sixteen-year run on Uncanny X-Men. Claremont’s focus on the themes of prejudice and tolerance struck at the hearts of comics fans, and he built an unparalleled following during the next three decades. Under his pen, the X-Men franchise spawned a vast array of spin-offs, many of them written by Claremont himself. His other credits include Iron Fist, Ms. Marvel, Power Man and Spider-Woman. Claremont has returned to the X-Men universe in New Exiles, GeNext, X-Men Forever, Chaos War: X-Men and Nightcrawler.Tom DeFalco’s earliest comic-book scripts were for Archie and DC; he soon moved to Marvel, where he wrote Avengers, Machine Man and other titles, also launching Dazzler, a hit series of the early ’80s. Perhaps his best-known work is multi-title character Spider-Girl, whom he introduced in 1998. DeFalco has authored multiple books, including Ultimate Guides for Avengers, Fantastic Four, Hulk and Spider-Man.Industry giant Marc Silvestri entered the upper echelon of comics innovators in the late ’80s during fan-favorite, record-breaking runs on Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine. Silvestri left Marvel in 1992 to co-found Image Comics; his imprint, Top Cow, is one of its four longstanding autonomous studios. At Image, Silvestri created some of today’s most popular properties — including Cyberforce, Witchblade, Weapon Zero and The Darkness. Silvestri has returned to the world of Marvel’s mutants on New X-Men and X-Men: Messiah Complex.Kerry Gammill has illustrated Fantastic Four and Power Man and Iron Fist for Marvel, and DC’s Superman. In Marvel Team-Up, he and J.M. DeMatteis introduced Frog-Man and the White Rabbit, and he penciled Louise Simonson’s scripts on Fallen Angels. Moving to the film industry, Gammill served as a special-effects artist, character designer and storyboard artist on such projects as Species II and Tremors: The Series. He also became one of the guiding minds behind Monster Kid Magazine, a publication focusing on classic monster movies of another era.Three different incarnations of Cloak and Dagger were only a few of Rick Leonardi’s artistic achievements for Marvel. His other credits include Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants and Spider-Man 2099. At DC, he drew Batman family titles Batgirl and Nightwing, as well as comic/film crossover Green Lantern vs. Aliens. At Event Comics, he penciled Painkiller Jane. The career of British-born artist Alan Davis took off like a rocket after his humble beginnings at Marvel UK, where he impressed with an acclaimed run on Captain Britain. Davis broke into U.S. comics with runs on Batman and the Outsiders and Detective Comics. Hired by Marvel U.S. in 1986, Davis launched Excalibur with Chris Claremont, and the book quickly became one of mutantdom’s most unique and humorous titles. When Davis took over as writer, he continued many plot threads from his Captain Britain run. After a lengthy arc writing and drawing X-Men, Davis illustrated writer Brian Michael Bendis’ Avengers Prime and contributed to the status-quo-changing X-Men: Schism.Since his beginnings with Ann Nocenti in Longshot (which earned him a Russ Manning Award), Arthur Adams has most often displayed his distinctive and detail-intensive art in miniseries or one-shots (including several Uncanny X-Men Annuals) — along with brief but memorable stints on Fantastic Four, X-Factor and other titles. He co-created “Jonni Future†for Alan Moore’s Tom Strong’s Terrific Tales, and Dark Horse Comics has published his creator-owned Monkeyman and O’Brien. Renowned for cover art at Marvel, DC and elsewhere, Adams has also illustrated trading cards, posters and shirts, among other products; his art can be found in toy design, film advertisements and a series of X-Men-themed Campbell Soup labels. Jeph Loeb’s Hulk series featured a string of issues in which Adams provided interior art.Marshall Rogers (1950-2007) provided pencils for Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, Doctor Strange, G.I. Joe and Silver Surfer. His best-known non-Marvel work is an acclaimed run, with writer Steve Englehart, on Detective Comics and other Batman titles; when a Batman newspaper comic strip debuted in 1989, Rogers was chosen as the strip’s artist.

One of the most original and widely respected writers in comics, Glasgow-born Grant Morrison got their start with British indie comics during the late 1970s and early 1980s before working on Marvel UK features such as Zoids. After co-creating the popular strip Zenith with artist Steve Yeowell in 2000 AD, Morrison made their mark in America with DC Comics, where they revived an obscure hero to critical acclaim in his Animal Man series. In 1989, they wrote the best-selling Batman graphic novel Arkham Asylum and began a memorably surreal run as writer of the freakish heroes of DC’s Doom Patrol. Subsequent DC projects included Kid Eternity, Sebastian O, Flex Mentallo, Kill Your Boyfriend, Aztek, Invisibles, DC One Million, Flash and a hugely popular revamping of DC’s JLA. Morrison then shifted focus to Marvel Comics, where they had already made a brief pit-stop co-writing 1995’s bizarre Skrull Kill Krew with Mark Millar. In addition to their groundbreaking four-year New X-Men run, Morrison’s Marvel credits include Fantastic Four: 1234 and Marvel Boy. They have since returned to DC, where their later credits include Seaguy, WE3, Vimanarama, JLA: Classified and Seven Soldiers. While serving as a special creative consultant to DC editorial, Morrison wrote All-Star Superman, and the flagship Batman title and its spinoff Batman Inc.; co-wrote the event series 52; and served as the mastermind behind Final Crisis.Glasgow-born comics artist Frank Quitely has a long history of collaboration with fellow countryman Grant Morrison, often to considerable critical acclaim. After working with various British publishers, Paradox Press and Dark Horse Comics, Quitely got his big break as artist on Morrison’s Flex Mentallo mini-series for DC Comics in 1996. Quitely later teamed with Morrison again for the JLA: Earth 2 graphic novel, New X-Men, an Invisibles story, the cyber-animal saga We3 and the All-Star Superman series. Quitely’s other DC credits include The Authority and Sandman: Endless Nights; his additional Marvel work includes Daredevil and Captain America: Red, White and Blue. Cyberfrog creator Ethan Van Sciver drew DC’s Impulse series for some time and other DC projects featuring characters such as the Justice League and the Flash, in addition to recent work on Green Lantern: Rebirth and Superman/Batman. Marvel features he has drawn include Weapon X, New X-Men and Wolverine. He is currently working on the third part of the Green Lantern trilogy, “The Blackest Nightâ€, due to come out in 2009.Croatian-born illustrator Igor Kordey has earned a reputation for his prolific output, working on as many as three or four monthly books at the same time. His Marvel work includes Black Widow: Pale Little Spider, Captain America, Conspiracy, Soldier X, Tales of the Marvels: Wonder Years, New X-Men, and extended runs on X-Treme X-Men and Cable. Kordey united with his compatriot Darko Macan on Tarzan projects for Dark Horse Comics.
