esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Whisking readers away into a world of the weirdly wonderful, these enduring tales of a young girl's journey to the heart of imagination have been named among some of the greatest books of all time for children and adults. Whether she's shrinking, learning poetry from a caterpillar, running from the Red Queen, or chasing that elusive White Rabbit, every strange situation Alice encounters is incomparably surreal to her and immediately familiar to us. Collects Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Jenny Frison's art captures elements of fantasy, fairy tales, and wonder with its use of color and style to complement the classic prose of author Lewis Carroll. Advance solicited for July release! John Byrne's run on the X-Men began with issue #108 and lasted until #143. The team of Claremont, Byrne, and Austin made the X-Men (which was already a hit series under Dave Cockrum) soar to the top of the charts in comics sales. They introduced Alpha Flight, and the created the near mythical storylines 'The Dark Phoenix Saga' and 'Days of Future Past.' These and the rest of their stories remained burned into the memories of collective fandom to this day and have been the basis for several X-Men films. This Artifact Edition will include more than 100 pages of X-Men covers, splashes and pages from Byrne's X-Men run, all have been meticulously scanned from the original art and reproduced to the exacting Artist's Edition standards that have won IDW Publishing five highly coveted Eisner Awards (to date)! What do you want to learn about? Take your pick in this anthology combining the unprecedented approach of a 'how to' book with the diverse subject matter from over 100 contributors sharing their hidden talents via one-page, nine-panel comics! Includes entries from a variety of comics creatives including John Allison, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Becky Cloonan, Sanford Greene, Paul Pope, Gail Simone, Mark Buckingham, Box Brown, Gilbert Hernandez, Jill Thompson, Chynna Clugston Flores, and more. Each story is part personal 'how to,' part 'how-so.' Some of these one-pagers will illuminate aspects of the comic book storytelling process like drawing likenesses, lettering, and cropping art panels. Others go beyond the comics world from the practical (catching a loose dog, changing a tire, speaking in public), to the fun (creating cheap horror makeup, skanking at a ska show, faking a guitar solo), to the peculiar (destroying the Internet, training your doppelgänger, surviving a bear attack--probably). All-star creators from South Africa, South America, North America, England, India, and other parts of the world share their favorite recipes, traditions, and talents in this fun, educational anthology. Learn new skills or hone the ones you've got. Bonus features include a brand-new story, 'How to Wash Your Hands,' an introduction by Kelly Sue DeConnick and an essay about the traditional 9-panel grid by Jim Rugg. Jazzy John Romita was for many the definitive artist on the Amazing Spider-Man. His sleek line work brought the web-slinger to life for a generation of fans. This volume collects issues 67, 68, 69, 71, 75, and 84 in their entirety. Additionally there is a beautiful gallery section of Romita extras. An original graphic novel about being the new kid in a different school, getting picked on by the class bullies, and what happens when a magical presence takes notice. Like, can things get any worse? Starting out at a new school is tough, and Bridgette isn't having much luck, seeing as, well, she's not great at making a first impression. Or, maybe, any impression. Ugh, all these nervous feelings! Will I fit in? Will I make new friends? Will they still like me when they get to know me? Nope. For now the best she can manage is... awkward. This is not going great. That's when she sees it. Something dark and scary... something only she can see. And she's scared, of course she is. But as the only one able to see the dangers, maybe it's time for her to face that fear and unravel the mystery of the Glim and the Glums. The Girl and The Glim is about accepting the fact that fear is okay, and that while letting other people see your vulnerabilities can be scary, it can also lead to closer friendships in the end. This must-have volume features some of the most historically important stories ever produced with Marvel's famed wall-crawler, all meticulously scanned from the original artwork! Gil Kane's The Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition presents each page in what appears to be black and white, but has actually been scanned in color. Readers view the art in its most natural form-blue pencils, ink gradients, and editorial notations all clearly visible-so they can (ahem) marvel at all the little nuances that make original art unique. This volume contains the infamous three-part drug story that was not approved by the Comics Code Authority (Amazing Spider-Man #96-98). The second three-part story features the legendary six-armed Spider-Man saga (Amazing Spider-Man #100-102). Additionally, one of the most famous-and most shocking-Spidey tales is included: the death of Gwen Stacey! (Amazing Spider-Man #121). You can't get a better line-up of Spider-Man stories than this! Gil Kane is regarded as one of the finest comic artists in the history of the medium. His dynamic sequential storytelling abilities, coupled with impeccable draftsmanship, make him a true artist's artist-as this book will attest! (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

This lavishly illustrated biography documents the life and art of one of the most significant comics and animation artists of all time. In comic books, Alex Toth was the foremost proponent of modern design and composition. Starting in 1950, his work influenced almost every one of his contemporaries and has continued to work its magic on the generations that followed. In animation, his 1960s model sheets for Hanna-Barbera are still passed around as swipe sources from animator to young animator in the 21st Century. Now in paperback, this biography was compiled with complete access to the family archives and with the full cooperation of Toth's children, this biography features many rare comics pages, photographs, and drawings. It also reproduces 20 complete stories, including a previously unknown and unfinished story from 1950, most printed from the original artwork. Updates include clarification on Toth's early married life in the 1950s and the first appearance of the recently disovered final page that completes the special section collecting Jon Fury, the comic strip Toth created in the army, a prize long sought by even the most ardent Toth collectors. Winner of the Harvey Award for Best Biographical Book. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

Wally Wood's career is legendary among the annals of comic's history. He rocketed to fame working on Will Eisner's The Spirit newspaper strip and became one of the most talented artists working for EC Comics during the 1950s. Wood also became a star of EC's satire comic called Mad, which went on to even greater success as a magazine, allowing the artist to apply his amazing talents in a broader spectrum. When the comics industry fell on lean times during the mid 1950s, Wood segued into the field of science fiction pulp illustration, providing over 200 beautiful drawings and several color cover paintings for the digest magazines; particularly Galaxy. Wood left behind a legacy of great art, much of which has never been reprinted. This book will feature them all. Long time Wally Wood historian Roger Hill has spent the past twenty years pulling together the history of Wood's involvement with the pulp digests and tracking down original art for this project. Over half of the images have been pulled from the originals or from Wood's personal file copies, allowing Wood fans the finest possible reproduction! (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror
