esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
The fourth volume of Fantagraphics' groundbreaking Complete Crepax series puts the author's sexy proto feminist heroine Valentina, the globe-trotting Milanese photographer, front and center in a series of erotic comics narratives. Most of the comics in this volume, spanning 1965 to 1985, have never before been published in English. It includes Crepax's first foray into comics magazines-'The Curve of Lesmo'-in which our heroine is introduced as an adventurer's sidekick! Elsewhere in this volume, she becomes a mother, outwits a gang of jewel thieves, flashes back to her childhood and adolescence, encounters a mysterious cello, and much more! Not only is Crepax's impeccable draftsmanship on full display, but this deluxe package highlights the innovative visual storytelling techniques that made him an international sensation. Mickey Mouse and Uncle Scrooge tackle crafty - and not-so-crafty - crooks in adventures in these comics stories by legendary Italian 'Maestro' Romano Scarpa! In 'The Man from Altacraz,' Mickey tries to reform musical ex-convict J. Cobalt Bloogle - but another master criminal is using both Bloogle and Mickey to get his hands on a priceless treasure! Then, in 'The African Queen,' Goofy falls in love with Zenobia, ruler of a lost jungle kingdom... and Mickey's troubles are only getting started! When Disney Legend Floyd Gottfredson stopped creating new Mickey Mouse adventure serials in 1955, Italian Disney cartoonist Romano Scarpa (1927-2005) picked up the Mickey mantle - telling decades' worth of legendary tales himself! Now Fantagraphics is anthologizing Scarpa's best - and beyond this book's Mickey tales, we're also including Scrooge McDuck versus the Beagle Boys in 'Risky Bees-Ness'... the tale of a sting gone wrong! Other Lives follows three former college classmates: a self-loathing journalist whose family secret is the least of his problems; his girlfriend, whose obsession with getting married borders on Bridezilla status; a conspiracy theorist who may or may not work for the Homeland Security but definitely lives with his mother; and a divorced, unemployed gaming addict who lives in his car. While it's their past that unites them, it's their fabricated online identities - some more dangerous than others - that lead to their 'real' lives colliding years later. Originally published in 2010 by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, Other Lives is Bagge's first post-Hate original graphic novel and has been out of print for several years. Fantagraphics is proud to publish this new edition, at a time when Bagge's oeuvre is enjoying renewed interest following the release of The Complete Hate in late 2020. Fantagraphics presents two experimental, early works by the French cartooning legend Tardi. These comics, created in the mid-'70s, provide a fascinating preview of the masterworks of his prolific career. While they are not narratively linked, an eerie sense of foreboding suffuses stories in this collection: they both depict sex and brutal violence and condemn the horrors of war. The True Story of the Unknown Soldier follows a pulp novelist turned soldier who, driven to delirium amidst the trenches of WWI, becomes tormented by visions of his own seedy creations. This stream-of-consciousness tale visualizes the tortured psyche of its protagonist through dazzling dreamscapes and surreal scenarios. In The National Razor, a soldier returns from war a shattered man. Drowning himself in drink, he wanders the streets of Paris without purpose; in this numb stupor, he finds himself caught up in strange situations, lashes out in unexpectedly violent ways, and ultimately meets with a bloody end. At once a visceral depiction of the trauma wrought by war and a powerful denunciation of the death penalty and France's iconic guillotine. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Published in 1969, this Argentine graphic biography about Ernesto 'Che' Guevara was an instant bestseller, banned by a military dictatorship, and almost lost - and it has never been available in English. Until now. Life of Che is one of the most anticipated entries in Fantagraphics' The Alberto Breccia Library. Originally released as part of a graphic biography series in January 1969, it came out in Argentina only a year after Ernesto 'Che' Guevara had died and reached an audience beyond comics readers. In the 1970s, the military government raided its publisher, destroying the means to reprint the book. It was a lost comic until a publisher in Spain restored it in 1987 - and never translated into English. Until now. The book begins in Bolivia in 1967, then flashes back through Che's life - his childhood, his radicalizing motorcycle trip with Alberto Granado, his taking up of arms in Guatemala, his meeting with Fidel Castro, and his subsequent military and political maneuvers, ending in a fade-out to his death. Alberto Breccia and his son, Enrique, drew Life of Che. Enrique draws the Bolivia passages in a woodcut style, while Alberto depicts the flashbacks in his trademark, expressionistic black-and-white. It is primarily set in the field and with the people. Héctor Germán Oesterheld (The Eternaut) blends his authorial voice with Che's first-person. Life of Che is imbued with a sense of immediacy, as both Che and, eventually, Oesterheld would meet their ends by a military government backed by the American CIA. As Pablo Turnes writes in his afterword, it is 'the testament of someone consciously marching toward his revolutionary death.' (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Collecting issues 1-18 of the iconic Daniel Clowes comics anthology Eightball; it contains the original installments of Ghost World, the short that the film Art School Confidential was based on, and much more, newly designed for paperback by the author. The beloved comic book series Eightball made Daniel Clowes' name even before he gained fame as a bestselling graphic novelist (Ghost World, Patience, David Boring, Ice Haven) and screenwriter. From 1989 to 1997, he produced 18 issues of what is still widely considered one of the greatest and most influential comic book titles of all time. Now, Fantagraphics is collecting every single page of these long out-of-print issues in a paperback edition. It includes more than 500 pages of vintage Clowes: seminal serialized graphic novels, strips, and rants, such as 'Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron,' 'Ghost World,' 'Pussey,' 'I Hate You Deeply,' 'Sexual Frustration,' 'Ugly Girls,' 'Why I Hate Christians,' 'Message to the People of the Future,' 'Paranoid,' 'My Suicide,' 'Chicago,' 'Art School Confidential,' 'On Sports,' 'Zubrick and Pogeybait,' 'Hippypants and Peace-Bear,' 'Grip Glutz,' 'The Sensual Santa,' 'Feldman,' and many more. Features new covers by Clowes, and 'Behind the Eightball': the author's annotations for each issue, heavily illustrated with art and photos from his archives. Daniel Clowes is an American cartoonist. His most recent book, Patience, has been translated into nineteen languages, and his books and comics have won numerous awards, including a PEN America Literary Award and over a dozen Harvey and Eisner Awards. As a screenwriter, he has been nominated for an Academy Award and written the films Ghost World (with Terry Zwigoff), Art School Confidential, and Wilson. His illustrations have been featured on a wide-ranging array of posters, album covers, and magazines, including many covers for The New Yorker. He lives in Oakland, California, with his wife and son. For two and a half millennia, generals and CEOs alike have followed the lessons of Sun Tzu. He leaves himself for a shimmy up the astral projector stripper pole, to hang with cosmic dust bunnies in a quest for enlightenment, or at least in a quest to avoid a job at the door factory.
