esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

“Light novels have not been my thing, [...] but reading Katanagatari was as close to a conversion experience as I’m likely to come. It also stands as, to date, a go-to example for how to translate a work of popular culture where a good half or more of it would be lost in translation.” - Ganriki.orgSwordless “swordsman” Shichika and self-described “schemer” Togame are on a quest to obtain twelve peculiar masterpiece blades. Introducing narrative curveballs that break up the structure and modulate the tempo, this paperback edition, featuring beautiful interior art and copious bilingual footnotes, is the second of a quartet collecting a best-selling series from the former homeland of samurais and ninjas. Now in paperback!

There are few authors in Japan who have reached the heights of success as NisiOisin. Born in 1981, Nisio dropped out of Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, to pursue a career in story-telling. Initially he had ambitions to be a comic artist, but when he realized his art was not up to snuff, he began to focus on his writing, eventually winning the 23rd Mephisto Prize, for Decapitation recognizing his talents as a mystery writer, at the age of 20. Since his debut in 2002 Nisio has penned more than 50 novels and a number of comics. And he has quickly become one of Japan's top selling author's in recent memory with more than 5 million units sold since 2009. In 2014, as in 2012, he was the top selling author in Japan (outselling Haruki Murakami by more than half a million units).Nishio's works often cover themes of youth, but are framed in genres that are familiar to the masses. His works tend to mix mystery with comedy and touches or romance and/or the supernatural. He is a modern author in every sense, sometimes even experiementing with the Japanese language itself. Many of his works have been adapted into animated television series and films. His best known works are the Monogatari series and Katanagatari.

From Joëlle Jones (Catwoman, Helheim) and Jamie S. Rich (It Girl and the Atomics, Archer Coe), the creators of Lady Killer, comes a new edition of their noir classic You Have Killed Me!Private investigator Antonio Mercer is no stranger to trouble—sometimes the kind that involves an attractive dame . . . and sometimes the kind that involves fists. But Mercer may finally be in over his head when he agrees to take a case from the sister of his former flame, who has gone missing. What awaits him isn't just trouble, but a tapestry of family discord, unsavory business associates, and—most unfortunately—a few murders.Featuring a brand-new cover and an afterword from writer Jamie S. Rich, You Have Killed Me brings forth the danger and thrill of traditional noir classics such as The Long Goodbye and Chinatown.Be careful. It’s a rough-and-tumble world you’re stepping into here. But remember what Mercer said: “Even if it leaves a mark, you’ve got a new anecdote.â€

Eddie Campbell’s Bacchus is a true epic, spanning a decade of work, over a thousand pages, and several millennia of alcohol consumption. In Bacchus, the visionary behind From Hell (with Alan Moore) and ALEC: The Years Have Pants presents his version of "an American-style comicbook," filtered through his own brilliant, whimsical, and wide-ranging sensibility. With a fine blend of action, comedy, suspense, and an ear for a great story, Bacchus brings the gods and myths of ancient Greece to modern life, as if they had never left. Nearly 600 pages, this deluxe volume collects the second half of the Bacchus saga with new notes and commentary by the author.
Publishers Weekly calls Eddie Campbell "one of the premier cartoonists of his generation." Campbell has been writing and drawing comics since 1974, and is best known for his collaborations with Alan Moore (From Hell, A Disease of Language) and Neil Gaiman (The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains), as well as for Alec, his tour-de-force autobiographical series that Booklist called "a high-water mark in the graphic novel's short history," and the 1200-page epic Bacchus. Forthcoming is Bizarre Romance (in collaboration with Audrey Niffenegger).

From the author of the widely acclaimed graphic novel Here, awarded the 2016 Prix D'or for best graphic album at Angoulême, a new graphic work that celebrates another aspect of his incomparable genius.Sequential Drawings gathers together more than a decade of McGuire's witty and endlessly inventive spots—a veritable short-story collection—each drawing given its own spread, which, in turn, assures for the reader the experience of surprise and delight that the drawings unfailingly deliver. Richard McGuire's first series of "spot" drawings debuted in The New Yorker in February 2005 for the magazine's 80th anniversary issue. Spot drawings, scattered among the magazine's text, had been a long-running feature of The New Yorker, and over the years, many artists had contributed them. But McGuire was the first to conceive them as a sequence, and his drawings were something altogether new: deceptively simple images that imbued the series with movement and narrative, telling their own unexpected stories. (In a 3-7/8 x 5-7/8 trim size. With illustrations throughout and an introduction by Luc Sante)
RICHARD McGUIRE is a regular contributor to The New Yorker. His comics have appeared in The New York Times, McSweeney’s, Le Monde, and Libération. He has written and directed two omnibus feature films: Loulou et Autre Loups (Loulou and Other Wolves, 2003), and Peur(s) du Noir (Fear[s] of the Dark, 2007). He designed and manufactured his own line of toys, and is the founder and bass player of the band Liquid Liquid. Here was based on his six-page comic that appeared in RAW magazine in 1989 and was quickly acknowledged as a transformative work that expanded the possibilities of the comics medium.

Now in paperback, a collection of “darkly humorous, existential, erotic, trance inducing” (The New York Times) short stories by the lauded French comics artist Nicole Claveloux.Nicole Claveloux’s short stories—originally published in the late 1970s and never before collected in English—are among the most beautiful comics ever drawn: whimsical, intoxicating, with the freshness and splendor of dreams. In hallucinatory color or elegant black-and-white, she brings us into lands that are strange but oddly recognizable, filled with murderous grandmothers and lonely city dwellers, bad-tempered vegetables and walls that are surprisingly easy to fall through. In the title story, written with Edith Zha, a new houseplant becomes the first step in an epic journey of self-discovery and a witty fable of modern romance—complete with talking shrubbery, a wised-up genie, and one very depressed bird. This selection, designed and introduced by Daniel Clowes, presents the full achievement of an unforgettable, unjustly neglected master of French comics.
Nicole Claveloux has contributed to the French comics magazines Métal Hurlant (Heavy Metal) and Ah! Nana, and drew a popular comic strip called Grabote. Championed by Harlin Quist, she has also illustrated a number of successful chil- dren’s books, including an award-winning version of Alice in Wonderland. New York Review Comics will be publishing a new collection of her work, Dead Season and Other Stories, in 2022.Daniel Clowes is a cartoonist, illustrator, and screenwriter. In 1989 he created the influential comic book series Eightball, which includes the celebrated issues Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, Caricature, and Ghostworld. He lives in Oakland, California.Donald Nicholson-Smith has translated a number of books for both NYRB Classics and New York Review Comics, including Yvan Alagbé’s Yellow Negroes and Other Imaginary Creatures. A surreal vision of a post-alien-invasion Earth where human beings still have to deal with quotidian frustrations, ennui, and understanding their place in the world.Since the mid-1980s, the British cartoonist Chris Reynolds has been assembling a world all his own. On the surface, it seems much like ours: a place of cool afternoon shadows and gently rolling hills, half-empty trains and sleepy downtown streets. But the closer you look, the weirder it gets. After losing a mysterious intergalactic war, Earth is no longer in humanity’s control. Blandly friendly aliens lurk on the margins and seem especially interested in the mining industry. The very rules of time and space seem to have shifted: Mysterious figures suddenly appear in childhood photos, family members disappear forever without warning, power outages abound, and certain people gain the power of flight. A helmeted man named Jimmy is somehow causing local businesses to shutter and is being closely watched by the “trendy new police force,” Rational Control. The world is being remade, but in what image? This new collection, selected and designed by the acclaimed cartoonist Seth, includes short stories, a novella, and the full-length graphic novel Mauretania. It is the ideal guide to all the mystery and wonder of one of the most underappreciated cult classics in the history of comics. This NYRC edition is a hardcover with foil stamping, debossing, full-color endpapers, and extra-thick paper, and features new scans of the original artwork.
Chris Reynolds was born in Wales in 1960 and studied fine art at the North Staffordshire Polytechnic. He has worked as a filmmaker, publicist, and art teacher but now devotes his time to drawing comics. He lives in Poole in the United Kingdom.Seth is the cartoonist behind the comic book series Palookaville, and his comics have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Best American Comics, and McSweeney’s. His illustrations have appeared in numerous publications, including on the covers of The New Yorker, The Walrus, and Canadian Notes & Queries. He is also Lemony Snicket’s partner for the new young-adult series All the Wrong Questions.
