esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

New York Times-bestselling October Daye series • Hugo Award-winning author Seanan McGuire • "Top of my urban-paranormal series list!" —Felicia Day Things are starting to look up for October "Toby" Daye. She's training her squire, doing her job, and has finally allowed herself to grow closer to the local King of Cats. It seems like her life may finally be settling down...at least until dead changelings start appearing in the alleys of San Francisco, killed by an overdose of goblin fruit. Toby's efforts to take the problem to the Queen of the Mists are met with harsh reprisals, leaving her under sentence of exile from her home and everyone she loves. Now Toby must find a way to reverse the Queens decree, get the goblin fruit off the streets--and, oh, yes, save her own life. And then there's the question of the Queen herself, who seems increasingly unlikely to have a valid claim to the throne....To find the answers, October and her friends will have to travel from the legendary Library of Stars into the hidden depths of the Kingdom of the Mists--and they'll have to do it fast, because time is running out.
Seanan McGuire is a California-based author with a strong penchant for travel and can regularly be found just about anyplace capable of supporting human life (as well as a few places that probably aren’t). Early exposure to a vast number of books left her with a lifelong affection for the written word, and led, perhaps inevitably, to her writing books of her own, starting somewhere around the age of eleven. The October Daye novels are her first urban fantasy series, and the InCryptid novels are her second series, both published by DAW and bother of which have put her in the New York Times bestseller list. Seanan was the winner of the 2010 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer; Rosemary and Rue, the first novel in the October Daye series, was named one of the Top 20 Paranormal Fantasy Novels of the Past Decade; and her novel Feed, written under the name Mira Grant, was named as one of Publishers Weekly's Best Books of 2010. She also won a Hugo for her podcast, and is the first person to be nominated for five Hugo Awards in a single year. You can visit her at www.seananmcguire.com.

In Part II of Guido Crepax's 'Erotic Stories,' Alain Robbe-Grillet introduces the Italian master's comics adaptation of the groundbreaking BDSM Story of O by Pauline Réage. This volume of Fantagraphics' ambitious series reprinting all of Guido Crepax's most significant comics is the second of two volumes featuring Crepax's comics adaptations from the literary erotica canon. This volume contains Crepax's longest graphic novel - 'Story of O.' A woman finds fulfillment when she subsumes her identity by sexually submitting to a secret society. Crepax sumptuously draws every strike of the whip and taps into the sensuality of body modification in his adaptation of this groundbreaking work. Also included is his short story 'Unexpected Exchange,' filled with the sensual delights you have come to expect from Crepax: lingerie, bisexuality, the 1920s, and the most symbolically drawn train you've ever seen outside of a Hitchcock film. As the Crepax Archives observes, 'The cartoonist, licensed by the authority of classics, ventures deeply into territories of eroticism that up to now he had only dared to touch.' In addition to the usual accompanying essays putting Crepax's stories into historical and cultural context, this volume also features Nouveau Roman novelist Alain Robbe-Grillet's (The Voyeur, Last Year at Marienbad) introduction to Story of O. Guido Crepax was born in Milan, Italy, in 1933. After acquiring a degree in architecture, he worked on award-winning advertising campaigns for such corporations as Shell and Dunlop. He went on to become one of Italy's most important cartoonists, most famous for his psychedelic and erotic Valentina stories. Some of her exploits were adapted into a TV series and a film. He died in 2003. Alain Robbe-Grillet (1922-2008) was an influential French writer and filmmaker associated with the Nouveau Roman movement in novels such as Le Voyeur and La Jalousie. His film collaborations, such as Last Year at Marienbad (with Alain Resnais), won prizes and Academy Award nominations. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

WHY WE LOVE IT: We obviously love the Adventure Time show, and we pour our hearts into the comics. These original graphic novels are extra special because we just love being able to tell a longer story. Plus, we are such huge fans of Kate Leth and Zachary Sterling, who worked on the last AT OGN, so we had to ask them to do a followÂÂup! WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: Our ADVENTURE TIME original graphic novels are longÂÂform stories that play out like an episode of the animated series. It's a selfÂÂcontained story, done in one, and all the fun, plus now it's in full color. Great if you like our PEANUTS original graphic novels, or fun, allÂÂages OGNs like MONSTER ON THE HILL and MAX STEEL. WHAT IT'S ABOUT: It's that lovely time of year where Princess Bubblegum gets to leave the Candy Kingdom and venture out into the outer limits of Ooo. But when her annual quest to visit old friends takes a dark and unexpected turn, it's up to PB and Peppermint Butler to keep the peace by using the true power of friendship. Written by New York Times bestselling author Kate Leth (ADVENTURE TIME: SEEING RED), and illustrated by the sensational Zachary Sterling (ADVENTURE TIME), BITTER SWEETS is a deliciously twisted adventure with a surprising aftertaste. Cities burn, electricity crackles, and the world hangs in the balance as the award-winning alternate-history graphic novel trilogy comes to a stunning conclusion! The action picks up where The Jekyll Island Chronicles (Book Two): A Devil's Reach left off: the cabal of anarchists, known internationally as Zeno, have stolen the plans to Nikola Tesla's Death Ray and intend to build it and use it first on the heroes of Jekyll. Meanwhile, Tesla and his contemporaries Charles Proteus Steinmetz and Henry Ford work against the clock to come up with an improbable chance to render the weapon useless. For their biggest challenge yet, our heroic regulars - mechanically-limbed Peter Karovik, electrically-powered Helen Huxley, high-flying Billy Colfield, and the brilliant cryptologist Solomon Taylor - must build an army of new heroes that join the battle royale on the tiny Georgia island of Jekyll. With more thrilling science-heroism than ever before, A Last Call completes the Jekyll Island trilogy as the forces of good stand up one last time against those seeking to burn the world. Praise for the Jekyll Island series: 'The Jekyll Island Chronicles can satisfy your curiosity, and blow your mind with previously unknown facts, all while entertaining you.' -The Geekian Report 'I swear my heart was going to explode as I read this.' -Goodreads 'The story and the design in the world of The Jekyll Island Chronicles is refreshingly original...and very cool. I can't think of anything that is quite like it. Wish I'd had the chance to bring this project to life on film years ago!' -Joe Alves, BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated Production Designer, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Production Designer, Jaws, Escape from New York 'As a history teacher in Georgia, The Jekyll Island Chronicles has been an eye-opener for me. My students are such visual learners and giving them a chance to learn about our movers, creators, inventors and dreamers from history in a beautifully illustrated platform is a dream come true. What a breath of fresh air for educators to have something like this that not only reinforces many of our educational standards but also helps student engagement and fosters imagination. If history could be taught this way, our students would never forget it.' -Thomas Panter, Durham Middle School, Acworth, Georgia 'It's hard to believe The Jekyll Islands Chronicles is a new graphic novel series because it's full of classic adventure set in a clever mixture of science fantasy and historic reality. Everything you like about heroics, epic battles and grounded stories is in there. It's been special privilege contributing and a lot of fun getting to know the creators and their stories and I can't wait to read more!' -Jason Scott Jones, Eisner nominee, veteran comic colorist, video producer and motion graphics director, working on assorted titles for Milestone, DC, and recently IDW. Upholding crime and corruption, one fast food joint at a time. Fat Cop never passes up a possible grift, a chance to use excessive force, or a pit stop at any chain restaurant he passes. He chafes when forced to take a new partner, Pete Rick, to keep him on the up and up. Even when he lucks into a heroic deed, he manages to do so repulsively. But when Fat Cop uncovers a child slave ring operating out of the local Trader Joe's, he may have met his match on the reprehensibility scale. If he's not careful, it might be a transformative experience that causes him to reconsider his role as a loving partner and father. Well, up to a point, anyway - sometimes a fat cop is just a Fat Cop. Johnny Ryan returns to his lowbrow humor roots following his cult classic and violent fantasy series, Prison Pit. Ping-ponging his antihero through an ever-escalating and cascading series of violent, scatological, and wildly imaginative absurdities (most but not all of Fat Cop's own making), Ryan's brilliance as a visual and verbal gag writer shine on every page of this master class in physical humor and comics storytelling. Fat Cop is as hilarious as it is profane, and a welcome return to long-form comics by the cartoonist and animation veteran Johnny Ryan. Johnny Ryan is the creator of the cult favorite Angry Youth Comics, a co-creator of the Nickelodeon series Pig Goat Banana Cricket, and was the story editor of Warner's mid-2010s reboot of Looney Tunes. He lives in Glendale CA. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

This entertaining graphic novel from award winner Dan Brown will get kids talking, since it's all about the history of dealing with poop, pee, and dirty hands.Part of the Big Ideas That Changed the World graphic novel series, this full-color book is appropriate for the classroom and includes a timeline, endnotes, and a bibliography. In 1895, an engineer named George Waring was appointed New York City’s first commissioner of street cleaning. His task? To make a city with millions of people livable.Narrated by Waring, Keep It Clean! explores the concept of public health, which means ensuring clean water and adequate sewage disposal for everyone, and covers topics such as personal hygiene, sewer systems, and chemical water treatment.Acclaimed author-illustrator Don Brown takes readers on a journey through history and around the world, from Greek, Roman, and Aztec aqueducts and the dawn of bathing (including social public bathing in Japan and religious bathing ceremonies in Machu Picchu) to the invention of soap in the Middle East, the first use of flush toilets approximately 4,000 years ago, and the first toilets used in outer space—a Big Idea when you consider that early astronauts on Apollo 11 had none!Full of facts and colorful historical figures, Brown chronicles both historical mishaps—like rivers full of human waste and King Henry VI’s notorious basement of poop—and monumental scientific breakthroughs including Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch’s discovery of the link between microbes (germs) and disease.Brown also highlights how social classes became divided not only by wealth and culture but also by smell, and calls attention to modern-day health crises.Today, nearly two billion people around the world live without clean water and about 3.6 billion people—nearly half of the world’s population—live without proper sanitation. Breaking down concepts in an accessible, kid-friendly way, this nonfiction graphic novel shows why “keeping it clean†is vitally important whether it’s a city, town, home, or person.Big Ideas That Changed the World is a graphic novel series that celebrates the hard-won succession of ideas that ultimately changed the world. Humor, drama, and art unite to tell the story of events, discoveries, and ingenuity over time that led humans to come up with a big idea and then make it come true.More from the Big Ideas That Changed the World series:Rocket to the Moon!
