esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
William Stout discusses his diverse career, including bootleg album art beginnings, underground comix, movie poster masterworks (including Wizards and Rock 'n' Roll High School), film production (Raider of the Lost Ark, etc.), passionate environmental advocacy, and, of course, his landmark work with the late, great Byron Preiss, The Dinosaurs, and so much more! Our 'flip-side' features a massive tribute to Preiss, the visionary packager/publisher who helped bring comics to a whole new level and collaborated with many greats, including Harvey Kurtzman, Jim Steranko, Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury, Joe Kubert, Howard Chaykin, Gray Morrow, and many others. It includes Byron's only comprehensive career-spanning interview and an exhaustive historical retrospective with insight from dozens who knew him, including Paul Levitz, Danny Fingeroth, Alex Jay, Marv Wolfman, and many more. Don Heck remains one of the legendary names in comics, considered an “artist's artist,” respected by peers, and beloved by fans as the co-creator of Marvel Comics characters Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, and for his long stint on Marvel Comics' team book The Avengers. He joined Atlas/Marvel Comics in 1954, and along with industry giants Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Joe Maneely, and Dick Ayers, Don became an integral player in “The Marvel Age of Comics”, drawing The X-Men, Spider-Man, Nick Fury—Agent of SHIELD, Daredevil, The Defenders, Ghost Rider, and most of Marvel's other characters. In the late 1970s he became regular artist on top-tier DC Comics titles such as Teen Titans, The Flash, Justice League of America, and Wonder Woman. In Don Heck: A Work Of Art, author John Coates has meticulously researched and chronicled information on Don’s storied 40-year career, including his time at DC, Dell, Gold Key, and as “ghost” artist on Lee Falk’s The Phantom newspaper strip. From personal recollections from Don’s surviving family, long-time friends, and industry legends, to rare interviews with Heck himself (where he discusses his career, artistic technique, triumphs, frustrations, and love of drawing), this book is full of insight into—and first-hand anecdotes from—the early days of Marvel Comics. It also features an unbiased analysis of sales on Don’s DC Comics titles, an extensive art gallery (including published, unpublished, and pencil artwork), a Foreword by Stan Lee, and an Afterword by Beau Smith. NEW SOFTCOVER EDITION! From the 1940s to the ’70s, Reed Crandall brought a unique and masterful style to American comic art. Using an illustrator's approach on everything he touched, Crandall gained a reputation as the “artist’s artist” through his skillful interpretations of Golden Age super-heroes Doll Man, The Ray, and Blackhawk (his signature character); horror and sci-fi for the legendary EC Comics line; Warren Publishing’s Creepy, Eerie, and Blazing Combat; the THUNDER Agents and Edgar Rice Burroughs characters; and even Flash Gordon for King Features. Comic art historian Roger Hill has compiled a complete and extensive history of Crandall’s life and career, from his early years and major successes, through his tragic decline and passing in 1982. This full-color softcover includes never-before-seen photos, a wealth of rare and unpublished artwork, and over eighty thousand words of insight into one of the true illustrators of the comics.
