At the forefront of Kotobukiya's new ARTFX Premier series is the god of thunder, Thor Odinson from Marvel's Avengers Fresh Start series! This 1/10 scale statue was crafted down to the finest detail using digital sculpting, giving this expertly crafted collector's piece an exquisite appearance alongside lifelike detail. The craftsmanship in this piece continues from the sculpting to the painting. Unlike other pieces which follow the pattern of a simple base coat with shading. ARTFX Premier re-evaluates the standards for figure painting. Each individual piece of the statue is layered with several types of paint, giving the finished product an unprecedented sense of beauty and depth. With these techniques in mind, Kotobukiya's craftsmen imagined what kind of materials may come out of the realm of Asgard to create the unique paint job on Thor's metal and leather armor, which transforms in color depending on the angle as it catches light. Measuring just under 3.5 centimeters (1.5 inches) in length, the statue's face is meticulously crafted and full of photographic lifelike detail. The statue comes in sophisticated packaging overflowing with elegant details, including a marble inspired motif as well as an original illustration based on the figure. The first Ani*Statue from the franchise is the cute and mysterious FORTUNER from the final sequel 7th Dragon III Code: VFD (coming to North America in summer, 2016)! Called the 'astrologer of the battlefield,' the Fortuner uses scythes and the forces of death in the fight against the dragons. This version of the character utilizes the Atlantis style from 12,000 years ago and the standard color scheme in the game's complex character creation matrix. Fortuner stalks her prey carefully, bent over at the waist with her hands outstretched behind her and one leg crossed in front of the other. She never takes her green eyes off of her enemy, staring it down with a penetrating gaze and a determined expression. The girl wears a complex outfit with a short frilly dress and multiple capes and sashes layered over it, all in the beautiful blue, purple, and white color scheme with black, white, and gray accents. Of particular note is the twisting and flowing motion of Fortuner's clothing as well as the sculpting detail calling out the different materials in it, and of course the adorable cat ears with fur that sit atop her head. The latest series of high quality 1/10th scale ARTFX+ figures celebrates iconic characters appearing in Spider-Man titles, and up next is the Marvel Now! incarnation of the bonded alien symbiote: AGENT VENOM! After being used by anti-hero Eddie Brock and the villain Mac Gargan, the Venom symbiote was captured by the U.S. government for use in a secret military program. It was assigned to none other than Eugene 'Flash'Thompson, a character who first appeared bullying Peter Parker in high school all the way back in 1962 but who more recently served with distinction in the Army. Agent Venom fought supervillains on Earth and in deep space along with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and now the symbiotic hero joins the Spider-Man lineup in an amazing ARTFX+ Statue presentation based on artwork by Stefano Caselli! Embarking on a secret mission, Agent Venom stalks his prey using stealth and military training. Flash sneaks along in a deep crouch with twin pistols held up at the ready as he pivots to check for targets. The symbiote provides excellent armor protection over a standard issue outfit, and Venom is outfitted with a sleek black bodysuit with heavy combat boots and chitinous armor plating protecting the agent's torso, lower limbs, shoulder, and collar. Flash also wears a belt carrying additional equipment and two more pistols in holsters, and his bodysuit extends over his head in a sleek black hood with white eye outlines. That bright white is also seen at strategic places on Venom's suit: rectangles on the back of the hands, outlines on the thighs, and of course spider symbols on the chest and back. Everything about the stance and equipment screams precision and deadly intent, down to the exacting details like Flash's trigger discipline. Agent Venom stands under 7 ½ inches tall (in the ARTFX+ 1/10th scale) in his crouching pose and was sculpted by the same artist responsible for the Marvel Now! Avengers, X-Men, and Spider-Man series, Junnosuke Abe (RESTORE). And as with all ARTFX+ releases magnets in his feet provide perfect stability on the included display base. Coming from an alternate world of scientific magic and strange creatures is one of the most popular characters from the series as he appears in the Brotherhood manga adaptation, ROY MUSTANG! A State Alchemist of Amestris known as the 'Flame Alchemist' for his fondness for fire-based effects, Roy was a staunch supporter of his military and government until he discovered the corruption at its highest levels. Now he has been transmuted into the real world looking like he stepped right out of the anime series! Mustang leans against a low, broken wall, surrounded by fire and ready to summon more. Roy wears his highly detailed State Alchemist uniform complete with black boots and blue and gray matching trousers and long jacket; as an officer he is decorated with rank and other insignia on his chest, collar, and shoulders. An unseen wind fans his flames and stirs his clothing with realistic movement, and he looks toward you with an intense expression on his face that promises more destruction if his orders are not obeyed. Joining the ranks of such greats as The Dark Knight Returns Batman vs. Joker is another classic Batman story come to life in BATMAN THE KILLING JOKE THE JOKER! A 1988 graphic novel by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, The Killing Joke is a story about Joker and how he came to be the Clown Prince of Crime. Other than an interesting origin story for him, the book also features one of the most famous scenes in the history of comics: Joker shooting Barbara Gordon (which would in turn lead to her becoming the hero Oracle). Almost as famous as its contents is Joke's iconic cover image, captured for the first time as an ARTFX Statue! Featuring a portrait inspired by the graphic novel cover art coupled with an original pose by Kotobukiya, this new statue brings the maniacal clown to life as you've never seen him before. Joker stands with one foot resting on a crate of dynamite, smiling his huge toothy grin as he snaps a photo on his old school film camera. The sadistic villain's costume is incredibly detailed, showing off every seam, cuff, button, crease, and more on his purple three piece suit and trench coat. His outfit is even topped off by authentic studded spats, fedora, iconic white gloves, and lapel-pinned flower. The Joker's elongated white painted face leaps right off of the graphic novel cover with its deep laugh lines, left eye squeezed shut, and unruly green hair peeking out from under his hat.
