esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
Written by Archie Goodwin and drawn by such luminaries as Frank Frazetta, Wally Wood, John Severin, Alex Toth, Al Williamson, Russ Heath, Reed Crandall, and Gene Colan, Blazing Combat was originally published by independent comics publisher James Warren in 1965 and '66. Following in the tradition of Harvey Kurtzman's Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat, Goodwin's stories reflected the human realities and personal costs of war rather than exploiting the clichés of the traditional men's adventure genre. They were among the best comics stories about war ever published. Blazing Combat ended after its fourth issue when military post exchanges refused to sell the title due to their perception that it was an anti-war comic. Their hostility was fueled by the depiction of the then-current Vietnam War, especially a story entitled 'Landscape,' which follows the thoughts of a simple Vietnamese peasant rice-farmer who pays the ultimate price simply for living where he does - and which was considered anti-war agitprop by the more hawkish members of the business community. Writer Archie Goodwin and the original publisher James Warren discuss the death of Blazing Combat and market censorship as well as the creative gestation of the series in exclusive interviews. An archival collection of one of the bestselling alternative comic book series - arguably, the Great American Grunge novel - complete for the first time. The Complete Hate is a three-volume set that includes the original 1990-1998 30-issue run, the nine subsequent Hate Annuals, and tons of other Hate-related comics, illustrations, and ephemera created for books, magazines, comics, toys, and other merchandise. Bagge combined his cartoony drawing style with uncomfortably real Gen X characters, and the comic books resonated with readers. Book One (Hate 1-15), focuses on young Buddy Bradley's travails in early 1990s Seattle. Book Two focuses on Buddy and his girlfriend Lisa Leavenworth's move back to Buddy's native New Jersey (and a switch from black-and-white to full color). Book Three features the final arc of Bagge's magnum opus, as Buddy and Lisa become parents (and buy a garbage dump). Each volume, along with the slipcase, contains new covers, endpapers, title pages, and other surprises by Bagge. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

The world's greatest comic strip enters the '80s! In volume 16 of The Complete Peanuts (softcover edition), Snoopy's long-lost brother 'Marbles' joins the cast of characters - and is baffled by Snoopy's un-doglike behavior. Charlie Brown lives up to his hard-luck reputation: on the day of the biggest game of the season, he loses the baseball field! In other stories, Peppermint Patty witnesses the 'butterfly miracle,' Linus and Sally spar over whether he is indeed her 'Sweet Babboo,' the Van Pelts foray into an ill-fated farming venture, and two of the most eccentric characters from later Peanuts years - the hyper-aggressive Molly Volley and the whiny 'Crybaby' Boobie - return for a rematch. Lynn Johnston (For Better or For Worse) introduces this volume. The Complete Peanuts: 50 Years of Art. 26 Books. The publishing project that launched a renaissance in comic strip publishing: the complete reprinting of Charles M. Schulz's classic, Peanuts. This is the only place Peanuts has ever been collected in its entirety. Featuring impeccable production values, every single strip is reproduced better than ever before. This series represents the first time Pogo has been collected complete and in chronological order anywhere, presented in lush full color for the first time since their original appearance in Sunday newspaper section, as well as gorgeous black-and-white reproductions of Kelly's elegant dailies. This volume includes a pig with an ominous resemblance to Nikita Khrushchev and a scruffy goat who looks exactly like Fidel Castro. Both assure Okefenokeeans that a one-party system is the way to go; all will be well economically, they explain, because 'the shortage will be divided amongst the peasants.' Other storylines spotlight Kelly's remarkable cast: Pogo Possum, Albert Alligator, Howland Owl, 'Churchy' LaFemme, Beauregard Bugleboy, Porky Pine, Miz Ma'm'selle Hepzibah, Deacon Mushrat, and so many others. All 104 Sunday strips from those two years are included, with supplementary features (including comprehensive annotations and index) by comics historians R.C. Harvey, Maggie Thompson, and Mark Evanier. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

When cartoonist Joe Matt unexpectedly passed away in 2023, it appeared that any hope of seeing new work would die with him. Matt, notoriously slow, had been working on a new issue since the previous issue was published in 2006. After his death, it was discovered that the entire issue was almost complete and, thanks to Matt's cartoonist friends, Peepshow #15 will finally see print. The issue is quintessential Matt: utterly shameless and crafted with an exhibitionist's enthusiasm for his favorite subject, himself. Detailing his move to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue an ill-fated HBO series. Peepshow #15 is Joe Matt at his Joe Mattiest. (immagine) Categoria: Comics

In this charming middle-grade graphic novel, 11-year-old Hazel McCrimlisk's scientist parents are kidnapped inside the ecosphere they live and work in. Can Hazel and her friends find them in time? Hazel and her parents live an idyllic life in a treehouse in the PAW (Perfect Animal Worlds) Biosphere among a series of ecologically controlled environments populated by genetically created and enhanced animals and flora. As scientists working for PAW, together with founder Dr. Henry Nimick, the McCrimlisk's mission is to create a world that will usher in an era of 'good evolution', populated with animals and plants that can transform pollution and other environmental hazards to make the region clean and habitable. But one foggy night, Hazel's parents are suddenly kidnapped. With the help of her animal friends Chimi (a multilingual toucan), Nina (a pet-sized elephant who exhibits super-strength), and her human friend (comics lover and mythology expert) Alex, Hazel tracks clues throughout the various biodomes and climates uncovering what happened to her parents and leading her to... a monster?!? Author Ali Fitzgerald charmingly wrote, drew, lettered, and colored this book featuring an imaginative setting rich with detail and an expressive brush-pen style with a good sense of personality and motion. Her colorful, anthropomorphic characters are bright and funny sleuths alongside Hazel as they follow the clues together. Filled with puns and hijinks, readers will delight in this mystery with an ecological message. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

The 1950s boom in horror comics saw Atlas Comics' entrée into the genre. Beginning in March 1952, Amazing Detective Cases began detailing cases where justice was served in supernatural fashion and beginning in May 1953, the adventures in Men’s Adventures were taken over by ghosts, murderous revenge, and psychological terror. The cream of Atlas’ artistic line-up — including recent EC stars and future Marvel staples – rose to the grisly challenge of the horror genre. Each issue is crammed with four condensed tales of creeping dread, ironic comeuppance, or startling twists, all from a different artist or team.Among the short, sharp shocks included in this volume are the mini masterpieces "The Eerie Escape" by B. Krigstein, "The Torture Master!" by Russ Heath, The Drowning Witch" by Reed Crandall and "The 3rd Corpse" by Bill Everett. Stories by Gene Colan, John Romita, Joe Sinnott, Dick Ayers, Jim Mooney, Paul Reinman and George Tuska, all of whom remained through the shift to Marvel Comics, additionally fill out these issues, along with Atlas regulars Fred Kida, Mort Lawrence, Mike Sekowsky and Myron Fass. Notably included is the first appearance of "Gorilla Man" by Robert Q. Sale, a character brought back in Marvel's contemporary Agents of Atlas series, and part of their ongoing continuity.Collecting Amazing Detective Cases #11-14 and Men’s Adventures #21-26, Shiver As You Read! is a perfect companion to Adventures Into Terror, Venus, and the other titles of the Atlas Comics Library. Riad is a teenager growing up in the French region of Brittany, where he lives with his mother and brother and attends high school in Rennes. But his adolescence is anything but typical. Born to a Syrian father and a French mother, Riad spent much of his early childhood in Libya, rural Syria, and France—moving through contrasting worlds, political ideologies, and daily absurdities. Years earlier, his father—charismatic, authoritarian, and obsessed with dictators and with building a utopian Arab society—abducted Riad’s second younger brother, Fadi, and returned to Syria, leaving behind a fractured family. At 14, Riad navigates puberty, isolation, and the pressures of French society, while haunted by the absence of his father and brother, and the sadness of his mother. He turns to books, heavy metal, and drawing as refuge. The tone is darkly comic and sharply observant, capturing both the universal pains of adolescence and the surreal contradictions of the 1990s. Blending personal story and social commentary, this standalone volume offers a biting, poignant portrait of a young man coming of age in a world that feels both familiar and foreign. The End of the Arab of the Future is the first book in a two-volume series that concludes the critically acclaimed autobiographical graphic novel begun in Arab of the Future.
