Ne è protagonista il portinaio di un grande palazzo, chiamato Panna Maria, abitato in prevalenza da immigrati polacchi ma nel quale si trova anche un bordello. Il portiere, Stefan Wilde, aderisce al partito democratico e s’innamora della figlia del boss dei repubblicani. Una storia avvincente che si avvale dell’originale cifra narrativa di Charyn e dello splendido bianco e nero del maestro argentino. (immagine)
