Matt Hotson always wanted to write comics but took a little detour along the way to work as an assistant director on TV shows and movies like DC’s Titans, Murderbot, and Tammy’s Always Dying. His first comic book project, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return, was published in 2024 from BOOM! Studios. He lives in Toronto, Canada, with zero dogs, zero cats, and that one pesky spider up on the living room ceiling.

He is best known for his cosmic space operas ODY-C, cocreated with Matt Fraction, and the Eisner-winning Invisible Kingdom, cocreated with G Willow Wilson. He was also the artist on the acclaimed Marvel Comics series Black Bolt (with Saladin Ahmed), as well contributing to both Thor (with Jason Arron ) and Batman (with James Tynion).
