Boldly Go! When you make a movie based on one of the most beloved and admired entertainment franchises of all time, every detail matters. In the case of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, some amazing concepts were considered before the release, right down to the movie poster itself. Quantum Mechanix offers some of those amazing movie poster concepts in thematic sets of four 18' x 24' prints. This first set focuses on retro, WPA-style themes that were explored early on, when the movie's release date was still scheduled for December 2008. Much of the artwork left on the drawing board was truly spectacular. Each posts is a plate-printed lithograph on 100-pound, aqueous-coated, satin-finish paper. This time they are dressed in adorable ballerina costumes! Based on original illustrations by Yoshiyuki Sadamato in his Art Collection 'Camine,' the female Eva Unit pilots wear pretty outfits and come with exclusive diamond image bases that connect together so you can display them as a matched set. SHIKINAMI ASUKA ~BALLERINA~ wears an off the shoulder pink top and fluffy tutu. The clothing has tremendous sculpted detail in lace, ruffles, and the tied 'corset' look. Asuka's long, lean legs are bare, except for her dainty ballerina slippers, while her bright red hair is held up in twin pigtails. All of this is captured as Asuka delicately performs a ballerina pose, her hands at her waist and one foot forward in the picture of grace.
