Nathan Fairbairn is an Eisner-nominated creator who's worked on iconic characters such as Spider-Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, Invincible, and Scott Pilgrim. He’s also co-creator, writer, and colorist of the graphic novel Lake of Fire. He started writing the PAWS series as a way to share his passion for comics and storytelling with his daughter, Lily. Ethan S. Parker is a comic book writer who made his industry debut with the hit Image Comics horror/fantasy series Kill Your Darlings. He and his co-writer Griffin Sheridan followed that series with Blink and You'll Miss It for BOOM! Studios and Dominion Over All for DSTLRY Media, along with work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and IDW Publishing. Ethan was born in Oklahoma, but currently resides in Arizona with his wife and their cats.Griffin Sheridan has spent his entire life in comic shops across Michigan, where he was born and raised. For over a decade, Sheridan was an active voice in comics discourse through numerous podcasting endeavours, including projects featuring creators such as Ryan Stegman, Donny Cates, Matthew Rosenberg, and Brian Michael Bendis. Cari dylaniati (e non), a volte una storia sola… non basta. Capita così che in alcune opere la narrazione principale faccia da cornice o da filo conduttore per altri racconti, permettendo di esplorare una varietà di temi e sviluppare altri personaggi. Se guardiamo al cinema, ne sono esempi film come I delitti del gatto nero (John Harrison, 1990) o il recente V/H/S (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, David Bruckner e Tyler Gillett, 2012), che ha dato il via a uno dei franchise horror di maggior successo degli ultimi anni. In letteratura, troviamo questo tipo di struttura in classici come Le mille e una notte, il Decamerone di Boccaccio o Lo cunto de li cunti di Giambattista Basile. Alessandro Manzoni inserisce nell’intreccio principale de I promessi sposi una serie di sotto-trame e racconti, tra i quali la vicenda della Monaca di Monza è l’esempio più celebre. Umberto Eco, con Il nome della rosa, non si risparmia nello sviscerare la storia dell’abbazia e il contesto storico in cui è ambientata la vicenda. Si inserisce in questa illustre tradizione il “nostro” Tiziano Sclavi, che per i primi Speciali di Dylan Dog aveva scelto di raccontare diverse storie… nella storia. Il Club dell’Orrore e Gli orrori di Altroquando sono come mosaici di racconti più o meno interconnessi, capaci, al termine della lettura, di spingerti a ricominciare dalla prima pagina per scovare collegamenti, suggestioni e indizi seminati dal suo autore durante la tessitura dei fili conduttori. Il nostro grande amore per l’opera e la filosofia di Tiziano ci ha spinti a concepire un nuovo Speciale Dylan Dog, che da quest’anno si affianca a quello autunnale, e porta l’eloquente sottotitolo «Horror stories».
