esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
by (W) Anthony Bourdain; Joel Rose (A) Alberto Ponticelli; Irene Koh; Paul Pope
Hungry Ghosts is cooked up by the best selling author and veteran chef, Anthony Bourdain (Kitchen Confidential, Emmy-Award winning TV star of Parts Unknown) and acclaimed novelist Joel Rose (Kill, Kill, Faster, Faster) back again from their New York Times #1 best seller, Get Jiro!. Featuring all-new original recipes prepared by Bourdain, plus a yellow ribbon bookmark , and a guide to the ghostly legendary spirits behind these horrifying tales. This horror anthology is sure to please--and scare! On a dark, haunted night, a Russian Oligarch dares a circle of international chefs to play the samurai game of 100 Candles--where each storyteller tells a terrifying tale of ghosts, demons and unspeakable beings--and prays to survive the challenge. Inspired by the Japanese Edo period game of Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai, Hungry Ghosts reimagines the classic stories of yokai, yorei, and obake, all tainted with the common thread of food.Including stellar artists Sebastian Cabrol, Vanesa Del Rey, Francesco Francavilla, Irene Koh, Leo Manco, Alberto Ponticelli, Paul Pope, and Mateus Santolouco as well as amazing color by Jose Villarrubia, a drop-dead cover by Paul Pope."A gorgeous, haunting, at times gruesome saga that draws from the Japanese mythologies yokai, yorei, and obake, and mixes terrifying suspense with fascinating culinary intrigue, Hungry Ghosts cements an underrated literary legacy of Bourdain. " Entertainment Weekly "The expanded version of Anthony Bourdain's Hungry Ghosts . . . reimagines the Japanese tradition of Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai with a particularly spooky twist, as a group of chefs tell a series of stories linked by the common themes of the supernatural and food, each illustrated by artists like Vanesa Del Rey, Francesco Francavilla and Paul Pope. Of course, like all good ghost stories, there's a twist in the tale." --The Hollywood Reporter[Bourdain's] "final graphic novel, Hungry Ghosts, melds food, competition, and -- of course -- spooky specters with the culture-hopping human interest that Bourdain made his calling card." -- SYFY "A series of gastronomic ghost stories that bring together ... [Bourdain's] love of food, Japanese culture and old-school horror comics, plus some new recipes... An all-star roster of illustrators, from alt-comics legend Paul Pope to "The Legend of Korra" artist Irene Koh, to bring each spooky tale to life." --New York Post"The book is a thing of beauty, but the stories are filled with images of death and destruction. Knives and axes feature prominently. Decapitation and amputation abound. Eating but also being eaten. These are horror stories with recipes." --The Independent UK"Structured as an old-fashioned Tales from the Crypt-style horror anthology, complete with a frame story and ghoulish host, the twist ... is that these offerings are all food-themed--and all variations on yarns from Kwaidan, Lafcadio Hearn's collection of traditional Japanese ghost lore. ..... Each piece is drawn by a different artist, including such comics luminaries as Vanesa Del Rey, Francesco Francavilla, and Paul Pope." -- Publishers Weekly"Delicious." -- Previews World"An off-beat and very interesting read .... The artwork on the series ... [is] top notch and fascinating--a perfect combination of collaborators brought the stories to life across cultures." -- Comicon

by (W) Jeffrey Brown
After the acclaimed indie film Save the Date and the bestselling all-ages humor book Darth Vader and Son, graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy, Unlikely) returns to the autobiographical work that first made his reputation. In A Matter of Life, Jeffrey Brown draws upon memories of three generations of Brown men: himself, his minister father, and his preschooler son Oscar. Weaving through time, passing through the quiet suburbs and colorful cities of the midwest, their stories slowly assemble into a kaleidoscopic answer to the big questions: matters of life and death, family and faith, and the search for something beyond oneself.
Jeffrey Brown is the best selling author and illustrator of the middle grade Jedi Academy series, as well as the Darth Vader and Son series. When he was a kid, Jeffrey always dreamed of growing up to draw comics and make books for a living—and now he’s living that dream! Jeffrey has written a number of autobiographical books for adults (Clumsy, Unlikely, and A Matter of Life, among others, all from Top Shelf Productions), humorous graphic novels about cats (Cat Getting Out of a Bag, Cats Are Weird, from Chronicle Books), and parodies like Incredible Change-Bots (and its two sequels, all also from Top Shelf). His most recent project has been 40,000 years in the making: Lucy & Andy Neanderthal! Lucy and Andy are a brother and sister living in the stone age, where they struggle to survive mammoths, cave bears, and their own sibling rivalry. A surreal vision of a post-alien-invasion Earth where human beings still have to deal with quotidian frustrations, ennui, and understanding their place in the world.Since the mid-1980s, the British cartoonist Chris Reynolds has been assembling a world all his own. On the surface, it seems much like ours: a place of cool afternoon shadows and gently rolling hills, half-empty trains and sleepy downtown streets. But the closer you look, the weirder it gets. After losing a mysterious intergalactic war, Earth is no longer in humanity’s control. Blandly friendly aliens lurk on the margins and seem especially interested in the mining industry. The very rules of time and space seem to have shifted: Mysterious figures suddenly appear in childhood photos, family members disappear forever without warning, power outages abound, and certain people gain the power of flight. A helmeted man named Jimmy is somehow causing local businesses to shutter and is being closely watched by the “trendy new police force,” Rational Control. The world is being remade, but in what image? This new collection, selected and designed by the acclaimed cartoonist Seth, includes short stories, a novella, and the full-length graphic novel Mauretania. It is the ideal guide to all the mystery and wonder of one of the most underappreciated cult classics in the history of comics. This NYRC edition is a hardcover with foil stamping, debossing, full-color endpapers, and extra-thick paper, and features new scans of the original artwork.

A love letter to growing up with comics from one of the art form’s great modern masters. In Marble Season, Harvey and Eisner Award winner Gilbert Hernandez revisits the golden age of the American dream and the silver age of comics. Middle child Huey stages backyard Captain America plays and treasures his older brother's comic book collection almost as much as his approval. It’s a simpler time: when shooting marbles, trading Mars Attacks cards, and the excitement of the latest comic you could get your hands on reigned supreme. This evocative story of a young family navigating cultural and neighborhood norms in a majority Latino community brings forth a snapshot of mid-century Americana that goes all too often unseen. The joyful, creative play of childhood might gradually bend under the pressure of name-calling naysayers and abusive bullies–but it certainly doesn’t break. Drawing from his own upbringing in 1960s suburban California, Hernandez delivers a modern literary classic about the redemptive and timeless power of storytelling and play.
All Ages
Gilbert Hernandez was born in 1957 in Oxnard, California, a middle child in a family of six children. Alongside his brothers Jaime and Mario, Gilbert co-created and contributed to the acclaimed comic book series Love and Rockets, which celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2026. Hernandez was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame in 2017.
