DARK HORSE

Gary Baseman is a leader within an international cultural movement that includes both mainstream and underground art. After a career as a top commercial illustrator, creator of Disney's Teacher's Pet animated show, and artist for the Cranium board game, he felt he should not be 'limited to one world, whether the gallery world, editorial world, or art toy world.' He has now embraced them all with success. In March 2013, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles will install a major career retrospective, My Door Is Always Open, that will run for six months. Dark Horse is celebrating with a new range of merchandise, all selected and approved by Gary Baseman. The Gary Baseman Veritas Pins will be a series of five deluxe sculpted metal pins, all with the theme of 'veritas' (Latin for 'truth'), newly designed by Baseman. Scarlett's signature red hair and two-piece bodysuit are recreated in stunning detail. While remaining faithful to the original G.I. JOE series, Scarlett's suit has also been upgraded to represent the advanced, high-tech equipment available to the elite G.I. JOE team, as is evident in the suit's unique and highly detailed texture. Additionally, like the original action figure, Scarlett comes with an XK-1 power crossbow. Created through the power of technology, this high quality digitally sculpted statue leaves no detail untouched thanks to the expert hand of sculptor Takaboku Busujima (BUSUJIMAX). The G.I. This line is presented as tributes to the great masters of horror fiction, depicting the visceral fear created the greatest writers of the genre. Ghastly Graves will be a continuing collection of horrific statues, as we start things off with our premier edition, Shelley's Creation. This figure gives life to the vision of terror created by Mary Shelley, in her 1818 novel, Frankenstein. Stitches pattern his second-hand flesh as this brutal beast walks among the dead, lumbering through a graveyard in search of unknowns. Every Ghastly Graves edition includes hyper detailed sculpting, nauseating colors, and a gravestone tribute to the author, including an epitaph quoting directly from the book and etched forever into statue.
