Kevin Eastman was born in 1962 in Portland, Maine. He began drawing as soon as he was able to hold a crayon. His discovery of comic books gave meaning to his crazed doodling. When he discovered and studied the work of Jack Kirby, Russ Heath, Richard Corben, Vaughn Bodé, and John Severin, he began to hone his craft. His first published work appeared in 1980, a year or so before he met Peter Laird. In May 1984, he and Laird published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, creating the hit Heroes in a Half Shell.

Tom Waltz is a former active duty U.S. Marine, Desert Storm vet, and former California National Guard Military Policeman. Initially small enough to fit on his desk, it begins to grow, adding beam after beam, until it soon takes over his entire office. Growing exponentially, it eventually takes over the entire city, disrupting the social order as citizens begin using the beams to travel back and forth between the southern and northern parts of the city, previously only accessible via the guarded bridges. Steve Niles is a comic book author and novelist known for works such as 30 Days of Night; Criminal Macabre; Simon Dark; Frankenstein Alive, Alive; Mystery Society; and Batman: Gotham County Line. He is credited among other contemporary writers with bringing horror comics back to prominence.Bernie Wrightson (1948–2017) was an American artist known for his horror illustrations and comic books. He received training in art from reading comics, particularly those of EC, as well as through a correspondence course from the Famous Artists School. His first professional comic work appeared in House of Mystery #179 in 1968. He went on to work on a variety of mystery and anthology titles for both DC and its principal rival, Marvel. In 1971, with writer Len Wein, Wrightson co-created the muck creature Swamp Thing for DC. He also co-created Destiny, later to become famous in the work of Neil Gaiman. He worked on Spider-Man, Batman, and The Punisher and provided painted covers for the DC comics Nevermore and Toe Tags, among many others. Later works include Frankenstein Alive, Alive; Dead She Said; The Ghoul; and Doc Macabre (IDW Publishing), all co-created with horror author Steve Niles.
