esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

An empire prepares for war against Griffith—yet they hold his sworn adversary, Guts, prisoner in chains…and worse is that Guts is a prisoner within himself! The epic dark fantasy manga continues with Miura’s longtime assistants Studio Gaga, under the supervision of his closest friend, Kouji Mori.Having escaped the horrific devastation of Elf Island only to be boarded by unknown raiders, the crew of the Seahorse find that they have intruded into the territorial waters of the vast Kushan Empire!Sunk into his own personal darkness, Guts hardly seems to care as the Kushan lead him away in chains, even as Roderick, Farnese, Serpico, Morda, Isidro, Schierke and the other survivors are taken in as refugees. But they find no steady ground on shore either…for a grand council of the Kushan tribes is assembling to debate plans for war—against Falconia and its fearsome, matchless ruler Griffith, the Hawk of Light! The politics of the council are dangerous, but more dangerous still is that the Hawk’s power is already among them, striking through murderous sorcery. In this critical moment, Guts’ companions can’t rely on him to help…and in fact, is he to blame…?Extra content includes a double-sided, full color illustrated fold out, an afterword by Kouji Mori, and a bonus comic strip about Kentaro Miura! For mature audiences.

Kentaro Miura created his first manga, Miuranger, at age 10, drawing the series for an audience of his classmates; by high school he had moved into Japan’s dynamic self-publishing (doujinshi) scene. Futanabi, a manga Miura had submitted for admission to art school, was nominated for Best New Author Work in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine (today the home of Blue Lock and Rent-A-Girlfriend). In 1989, Miura began the dark fantasy manga series Berserk, his life’s work, with the Japanese publisher Hakusensha. Adapted into three anime TV series and a series of films, Berserk has sold approximately 70 million copies worldwide. Miura-sensei passed away suddenly in 2021 at the age of 54, leaving a legacy of epic storytelling, and a readership that only continues to grow.Studio Gaga is the team of assistants with whom Kentaro Miura worked to create Berserk; the studio currently consists of Kurosaki, Akio Miyaji, Nobuhiro Hirai, Naohide Nagashima, Hideaki Sugimoto, Shunki Fujimoto, and Takumi Yamamoto. With the passing of Miura-sensei in 2021, Studio Gaga is carrying on the story and art of the Berserk saga under the supervision of Kouji Mori. In a 2023 interview with major Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun, Mori remarked that while he gives advice on drafts during the process of making Berserk, the final drawings are the work of Studio Gaga. “Kurosaki, the chief of Studio Gaga, has extraordinary drawing skill, as does the rest of their staff. I believe that after they complete Berserk, they will become famous in the manga world.”Kouji Mori was best friends and an artistic collaborator with Kentaro Miura since they met at age 15 as aspiring manga creators; in high school the pair even attempted to break into the industry together, with a co-authored manga submitted to Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. Mori’s first major manga work made its debut in 2000, the 18-volume Holyland, later adapted into live-action TV shows in both Japan and Korea. In a 2016 interview published by Crunchyroll, Miura commented that the Guts/Griffith dynamic of Berserk was inspired by his relationship with Mori, “but sometimes I would be Guts, and sometimes I would be Griffith.” Following Miura’s passing in 2021, Mori remarked to The Asahi Shimbun that he would supervise the continuation of Berserk based upon his remembered conversations with Miura on his plans for the manga’s future direction: “I tried to recall every detail to tell the story. And I am only doing episodes Miura told me about. In terms of dialogue, I am only telling the story as Miura related it to me. Naturally, it will be incomplete. But I think I can tell the story almost in the way that Miura wanted.”

RICHARD CORBEN’S LEGENDARY UNDERGROUND WORK COLLECTED AND RESTORED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE BEST OF FANTAGOR. A landmark volume of high fantasy, sci-fi, satire, and psychedelia from one of comics’ most visionary artists. Featuring an introduction by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman. For the first time ever, the legendary underground comics of Richard Corben are being collected and fully restored in a single volume. The Best of Fantagor brings together some of Corben’s most iconic early stories, originally published in his own self-produced comic series Fantagor, in a definitive edition that reveals the raw power of his early imagination. This is the first collection to feature Corben’s complete Razar the Unhero trilogy. Razar is Corben’s first recurring character, a sly and subversive twist on sword-and-sorcery conventions. The collection also includes an eclectic mix of science fiction, horror, surreal comedy, and full-on psychedelic storytelling. Readers will find post-apocalyptic fables, bizarre creature features, twisted fairy tales, and two rarely seen photo comics. Every story has been carefully restored by longtime collaborator José Villarrubia to honor Corben’s original linework and color experimentation. With seven high fantasy tales, three comedic stories, two sci-fi works, and several unclassifiable ones, this volume of over 160 pages captures the range and intensity of Corben’s early career. Longtime fans will finally get the restored edition these works deserve, while new readers will discover why Corben remains one of the most influential figures in adult comics.Contents include:“Twilight of the Dogs““Razar the Unhero” (Parts 1–3)“The Temple” “Kittens for Christian”“For the Love of Daemon”“Ogre and Ogre II”“Inna Pit” “We Sure Like Worms”“Cidppey”“Doomscult”“Damsel in Dragon Dress”Reprints: Stories from Fantagor #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Up from the Deep #1, Metal Hurlant #28, Heavy Metal #75 and Grim Wit #1 and #2.The Best of Fantagor is a long-overdue celebration of Corben’s earliest and wildest work. Richard Corben was born in Missouri and grew up in Sunflower, Kansas,a community that worked for the Sunflower Ordinance Works, an army plant that manufactured bombs in World War II.Corben drew comics all of his life. An early effort was a series of comics about the adventures of TRAIL, the family dog. Later, he created imitations of Tarzan and Brothers of the Spear. He also showed a keen interest in animation by turning many pads of paper into animated flipbooks. While attending the Kansas City Art Institute, he concentrated on basic drawing and painting, developing skills that would become vital in creating his chosen realistic style. At that time, his college offered no courses for animation, but by using his father's 8 mm movie camera, Corben nevertheless produced a 5-minute animated film highlighting the labors of Heracles as his senior project. After graduation, Corben wanted to go to New York to launch a career in comics or animation, but he was shy and timid, and put off such a drastic move. After working in construction for his father for a while, he found a local job as an artist/animator/cameraman in a Kansas City industrial film company. During this time, despite his shyness, he found a girl to marry him. After nearly ten years at the film company, Corben felt frustrated that he really hadn't given his art career a chance. He started drawing so-called "underground" comix and fanzines at night after working a full-time job during the day. About this same time, Warren Publishing Company began a series of black-and-white horror comics, CREEPY, EERIE, and VAMPIRELLA. This was a perfect match for Corben's interests, and he drew several stories for CREEPY on speculation. Unfortunately, none of these were accepted. But the "wannabe" comic book artist persisted and even met James Warren at a science fiction convention. Finally, Warren and his editor, Bill Dubay, relented and started sending Corben scripts to draw. At last, a foothold was established in his comic career. Even with the responsibilities of a wife, a daughter and a mortgage, the young artist now felt confident enough to quit his full-time job at the industrial film company and devote all his time to drawing. The underground comix surge spread to Europe, and requests to reprint Corben underground features began to appear. His fantasy character, DEN, was created for the American underground comic, GRIM WIT; DEN was next printed in the French METAL HURLANT, and then printed in the American HEAVY METAL. During this era, Richard and Dona started FANTAGOR PRESS, a publishing company featuring Richard's comics. Unfortunately, the business wasn't enough to support them. Next, Corben began drawing for American comics - D.C., MARVEL, DARK HORSE, and others.Corben believed that maintaining drawing skills required constant practice. He regularly attended life drawing classes all throughout his career. He found the activity both an ongoing challenge and a source of pleasure. His love and interest in animation continued throughout his lifetime and motivated him to create digitally animated movies he shared on his web site and Facebook page.Richard was married for 56 years to Dona, and is the father of watercolor artist and comic book colorist, Beth. His life and love was devoted to his family and his art. He was a humble man and an extremely kind, good man.Richard Corben died December 2, 2020.

Evan Dorkin is an American comics artist and writer. His most well-known works are the comic books Milk and Cheese and Dork. His comics often poke fun at fandom, even while making it clear that Dorkin is a fan himself. As well as his comics work, Dorkin has also written for animation, including (with his wife Sarah Dyer, also a comics writer/artist) Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. He also wrote and produced Bring me the Head of Boba Fett, an animated television pilot for Adult Swim called Welcome to Eltingville, based on his own characters. Dorkin and Dyer also wrote some episodes of the Superman animated series, particularly the episode "Live Wire," which introduced a new character of the same name. Additionally, the pair contributed to the script of the 2006 English-language version of the anime Shin Chan. After an initial six-episode order proved successful, more episodes were ordered, but Dorkin and Dyer are no longer working on the series. Dorkin has been the recipient of several Eisner Awards, including 2002's Best Writer/Artist: Humor.

For the first time in English comes the critically acclaimed manga from John Tarachine, the author of Witch of Thistle Castle, that's perfect for fans of BL Metamorphosis! How do you do, fellow kids? In hopes of writing realistic film dialogue, grandma Umiko goes barhopping and clubbing with her young art school classmates!Motivated by the mysterious young Kai to enter art school and become an aspiring filmmaker, Umiko’s first attempt at a movie gets a less than rousing response from her instructor, who critiques the dialogue she wrote as not reflecting how young people actually talk. Saying that a director needs to strike a balance between their intended vision and what the audience will perceive, he suggests to Umiko that the problem isn’t her objectivity, it’s the 65 year old’s…lack of experience!Invited to go out drinking by Yamaguchi, a classmate born in a different century, Umiko breaks out of her normal retiree routine, seizing the chance to learn how the youth of today socialize. She may be able to handle her beer and the beat on the club floor…but she gets much more social interaction than she bargained for when she overhears in the restroom Yamaguchi drunkenly confess their love to Kai!

John Tarachine (a pen name) was born in 1989 in Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. While at art school, she tried her hand at filmmaking, but realized she was better suited to working alone and decided to pursue manga as a career. After graduating, she set out on a trip around the world, promising herself that she would get a real job if she didn’t make it as a manga artist by the time she was twenty-five. She narrowly met that personal deadline when she made her debut in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a tale of a man who travels to London to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. She followed this up with a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education before tackling fantasy in Witch of Thistle Castle. She came to feel that she was more interested in drawing shojo manga, however, and when an editor at the shojo magazine Mystery Bonita reached out to her about working together, the result was the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. She also draws BL manga under the name John Taratsumi. Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who splits her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated hundreds of short stories, novels, and manga, including the Eisner Award-winning titles Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi, as well as the critically acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. As an interpreter, she has worked with Japan’s most celebrated authors and artists, including Sayaka Murata, Inio Asano, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsume Ono. Remembering how they used to watch films together, Umiko goes to the movie theater for the first time in years, where she meets Kai, an attractive, ambiguous young man who studies filmmaking at a nearby art school. They would seem to have nothing in common, except for this—both of them sometimes like to look more at the way the audience reacts to a movie than the movie itself. Kai believes Umiko has the same deep desire he possesses to experience how people respond to something they made… and challenges her to stake the rest of her life discovering that thrill.Soon Umiko surprises herself by enrolling in the same film school as Kai. But sailing into this new sea, she’s suddenly inside the currents of her fellow students’ lives, a much younger generation that she struggles to understand, driven by their own passions and their own relationships. Who’s really experienced at life, and is it old age or observation that brings wisdom? And does what you’re looking for change when you look with your eyes instead of through a camera lens…?

After his search for the ancient gods ended with answers—but more questions—theologian Uri Tupka travels further to discover the truth about the darkness before the world began, and what it means for mankind.Heretic and theologian Uri Tupka has learned of the gods and now must learn of the universe, and so he visits a Baron’s library of books beyond even Uri’s imagination. However night after night in the library brings not just new insight and clarity on the origins of the world, but threatens to consume Uri himself as his unquenchable search for understanding may put him directly in the path of danger. In this follow-up to Uri Tupka and the Gods and Bowling with Corpses, Mignola returns to Lands Unknown to both write and draw this original graphic novel that explores the origins of legends and how they can change us. MIKE MIGNOLA’s fascination with ghosts and monsters began at an early age; reading Dracula at age twelve introduced him to Victorian literature and folklore, from which he has never recovered. Starting in 1982 as a bad inker for Marvel Comics, he swiftly evolved into a not-so-bad artist. By the late 1980s, he had begun to develop his own unique graphic style, with mainstream projects like Cosmic Odyssey and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. In 1994, he published the first Hellboy series through Dark Horse, leading to over two decades of comics spinoffs, prose books, animated films, and live-action films. He worked on Francis Ford Coppola’s film Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Disney’sAtlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), and with director Guillermo del Toro on Blade II (2002), Hellboy (2004), and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). A new film by Neil Marshall was released in 2019. Mike’s books have earned numerous awards and are published in a great many countries. He lives in Southern California with his wife, daughter, and cat.

Scott Snyder: I write comic books! Growing up, I always wanted to write comics, but I ended up trying my hand at fiction first. I got my MFA from Columbia University, published a book of short stories with The Dial Press in 2006 called Voodoo Heart, then finally broke into comics in 2009 and haven't looked back since. I've worked extensively for DC Comics, writing such titles as Batman, Detective Comics, Justice League, the comic event books DC Dark Knights Metal and Death Metal, and Swamp Thing, among others. I've also created a number of series with some great co-creators and partners -- books like We Have Demons, Clear, Night of the Ghoul, Nocterra, American Vampire, Wytches, the Wake, AD: After Death, and more... I live in NY with my wife, Jeanie and our three boys. I am also a big fan of Elvis Presley.
