La Corea del Sud è al centro della cultura pop mondiale: basti pensare a tormentoni come Gangnam Style o fenomeni globali come Squid Game, la serie tv Netfix più seguita in tutto il mondo. Eppure, di questo Paese e del suo spietato star-system sappiamo ancora molto poco. Lee Hye-Ryeon, Lee Seo-hyun, Park Yong-ha, Kim Jonghyun e l'elenco potrebbe andare avanti... Sono solo alcune delle giovanissime star del pop sudcoreano che si sono tolte la vita negli ultimi anni. La causa di questi suicidi, più che gli eccessi come nella classica iconografia della rockstar occidentale, è quasi sempre la depressione. Perché dietro il mondo scintillante delle boy e girlband costruite a tavolino si nasconde il lato oscuro dell'industria dell'entertainment e, più in generale, della società sudcoreana: un Paese che cerca in ogni modo di vendere all'estero un'immagine di sé moderna e progressista, ma che in realtà è ancora soffocato da una cultura marziale e aggressivamente moralista. Balzac

The creative collaboration between British comic legend Liam Sharp, known for his work on various comic series such as "Wonder Woman", "Spawn" and "Spider-Man", and the Japanese horror punk band Balzac resulted in an impressive version of the legendary "Skullman". The band Balzac made "Skullman" the symbol of their horror concept and integrated the sinister character into their music, album covers and merchandise. This was also the case on the cover of the album "Hatred: Destruction = Construction". None other than comic mastermind Liam Sharp (Marvel, DC, Image, among others) was responsible for the design. It shows "Skullman" in a particularly sinister version, surrounded by demons in the fog. The design of the "Skullman" statue is based on this depiction. Liam Sharp is known for his detailed and dynamic drawing style. From the boot buckle to the cruel claws, the statue accurately depicts the Nordic version of the Grim Reaper after his work is done. You can even see the fresh blood dripping from the sickle. In 1/12 scale, the statue is complemented by a high-quality cardboard diorama with a matching background, which further enhances the atmosphere and horror of the design. 100% Made in Hamburg, plastic-free packaging (except for the cardboard adhesive).
