esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
The Penguin Classics Marvel Collection presents the origin stories, seminal tales, and characters of the Marvel Universe to explore Marvel's transformative and timeless influence on an entire genre of fantasy Collects X-Men #1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 38, 41, 42, 44, 45, and 46. It is impossible to imagine American popular culture without Marvel Comics. For decades, Marvel has published groundbreaking visual narratives that sustain attention on multiple levels: as metaphors for the experience of difference and otherness; as meditations on the fluid nature of identity; and as high-water marks in the artistic tradition of American cartooning, to name a few. The seeds of a pop-cultural phenomenon were sown with the launch of the first X-Men comic in 1963, at the height of 'the Marvel Revolution,' under the creative team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The title was bookended by some of the best Super Hero comics of that era; the first issue established a creative formula that continues to inspire contemporary creators, while the final issues remain acclaimed for the groundbreaking artwork of Neal Adams. This collection gathers several key tales from the original run of the classic X-Men series. A foreword by Rainbow Rowell and scholarly introductions and apparatus by Ben Saunders offer further insight into the enduring significance of the X-Men and classic Marvel comics. More horror and suspense for Classic Horror Comics Volume 8! Starting with this little gem: Front Page is a Pre-Code anthology from Harvey that contains the origin and first appearance of the Man in Black. This was the only issue of the series. Prize Mystery stories with an added cash incentive for the lucky 1950s reader if they can solve a two-page mystery involving murder. Ironically, solutions to the prize mysteries were to be announced in the issue #4, but, alas it never happened. Man in Black - the faceless occult avenger tells strange stories, sometimes intervening in person, other times merely letting ironic fate unfold. Reproduced completely from cover to cover as they should be - just like the original comic! So if your mom tells you that you're restricted to just one comic book this week, then this baby is for you, no question! So don't miss the chance to buy this little horror! Synopsis: COMIC MEDIA : Dynamite (1953 Series) Issues #6 - #9 January 1954 - September 1954 CHARLTON : Johnny Dynamite (1955 Series) #10 June 1955 Special Notes: Variant Covers If collated need the ratio, /Free or ordering Criteria Johnny Dynamite created by Pete Morisi was a hard-boiled private detective, known as 'The Wild Man from Chicago.' Good friends with the D.A. but readily accepted by the underworld - he smoked cigarettes constantly, cursed frequently and had a bad habit of getting shot and beaten by his enemies. But always gave as good as he got - he was an experience and persistent detective taking his cases very personally and killed many of his early foes, claiming they were reaching for a weapon. Myra Benz, who had shot him in the eye, was brazenly killed without any true justification beyond his own sense of justice. The other main artist across Comic Media titles was Don Heck, who in 1955 would be recruited by Stan Lee to Atlas Comics, later to become Marvel Comics. Where he became one of the architects of what became known as 'The Marvel Age of Comics,' along with Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and Dick Ayers. So combined Pete and Don make this 1950's five-comic set, today's winner but be warned, stock is limited! How can you go wrong when the first comic of a 24-book series kicks off with an eight-pager from Wallace Wood ('The Curse of the Sea Witch')? True, the work in these books won't win a Pulitzer but, that's more a reflection on the judges than the material. And that's only for starters. Elsewhere there are tales from Joe Orlando, Walter Johnson, Ed Goldfarb, A.C. Hollingsworth, Bill Fraccio, Lou Cameron, John D'Agostino, Tony Tallarico, Harry Harrison and Hy Fleishman and a whole host of other wacked-out-of-their-gourd luminaries. Synopsis: AVON : EERIE COMICS #1 January 1947 It was January 1947 that the first real, indisputable horror comic came along - EERIE COMICS #1, published by Avon. It had a striking cover that was, well… eerie, depicting a strange-looking man with a knife on the steps of some sort of ruin, approaching a bound woman - a theme that was to be repeated countless times in the future . . . Whet your appetite on these horrors inside including 'The Eyes of the Tiger' by Bob Fujitani featuring a pet tiger who gets his first taste for blood - no surprises there then? 'Dead Man's Tale' by Jon Small gives us the story of a bottle that gave Myron Morgan wealth and how he died when it was destroyed. 'The Man-Eating Lizards' by Joe Kubert, when a plane goes down in the ocean, the surviving crew members find themselves on an island of giant, man-eating lizards. 'The Strange Case of Henpecked Harry' by Fred Kida, tells how Harry Horton plots the death of his wife, only to be driven mad by the guilt. It's hard to point to a particular source or inspiration, such as radio or the pulps, for any of these stories as they were not adaptations and didn't come from any existing series - yet here they are, together as probably the world's first true horror comic!
