esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

A star of French comics imagines America--its movie stars, its history, its fashion--in these tantalizing graphic short stories about everything from love to, yes, the actor Robert Mitchum.Blutch is one of the most inventive storytellers in comics, and nothing reveals it like Mitchum. Serialized and collected in the mid-90s and never before available in English, this is Blutch at his most wide-ranging: from Puritan fever dreams to an encounter with a shape-shifting Robert Mitchum, Blutch builds stories out of his dreams, visions of America, and anything else he can get his hands on. Drawn in his unmistakable line that veers in a moment from crude to elegant, blotchy to crisp, horrific to serene, these comics show Blutch searching for new artistic frontiers. What he finds is sometimes surprising, occasionally unsettling, and endlessly fascinating.
Blutch (Christian Hincker) is an award-winning, highly influential French cartoonist. He has published almost two dozen books since his 1988 comic debut in the legendary avant-garde magazine Fluide Glacial, including Le Petit Christian, So Long, Silver Screen, and Peplum (available from NYR Comics). His illustrations appear in Les Inrockuptibles, Libération, and The New Yorker.Matt Madden is a translator and cartoonist. He is the author of 99 Ways to Tell a Story: Exercises in Style, which is a comics adaptation of Raymond Queneau's Exercises in Style, and of two textbooks co-written with his wife, Jessica Abel, Drawing Words & Writing Pictures and Mastering Comics. Madden and Abel were series editors of The Best American Comics for six years. He translated Edmond Baudoin's graphic novel Piero for New York Review Books. He lives in Philadelphia.

by (W) Martin Vaughn-James (A) Seth (CT) Jeet Heer; Seth
Two surreal graphic novels about technology, corporatization, and alienation in the modern world by a cult-favorite comics innovator. In 1968, the British artist and writer Martin Vaughn-James emigrated to Canada. Over the next eight years, he proceeded to produce some of the most mesmerizing and inventive works in comics, light-years ahead of his contemporaries. Among them were Elephant and The Projector, linked graphic novels that guide the reader (and a bespectacled Everyman) through landscapes built out of both the everyday and the nightmarish. Jam-packed superhighways, plummeting horses, vast urban wastelands, colossal businessmen, demented cartoon animals, and interstellar oranges are just a small part of Vaughn-James’s prophetic vision of society’s turn away from the natural world to the artificial.Together for the first time in a single volume, designed and edited by Seth and with an introduction by Jeet Heer, Elephant and The Projector stand as a reminder that we have yet to catch up to Vaughn-James.
Martin Vaughn-James (1943–2009) was a British painter and cartoonist best known for his captivating, stylistically daring graphic novels—Elephant, The Projector, The Park, and The Cage—all published in the 1970s, when Vaughn-James lived in Canada. He contributed to numerous magazines during his lifetime and wrote two prose novels, Night Train and The Tomb of Zwaab. Seth is the cartoonist behind the comic book series Palookaville. His most recent graphic novel, Clyde Fans, was selected as one of the best books of 2019 by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Globe and Mail. Seth lives in Guelph, Ontario, with his wife, Tania, and their two cats in an old house he has named "Inkwell's End."Jeet Heer is a comics critic and the national affairs correspondent for The Nation. He is the author of In Love with Art: Françoise Mouly's Adventures in Comics with Art Spiegelman and Sweet Lechery: Reviews, Essays & Profiles. He divides his time between Toronto and Regina, Canada.

John Tarachine (a pen name) was born in 1989 in Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. While at art school, she tried her hand at filmmaking, but realized she was better suited to working alone and decided to pursue manga as a career. After graduating, she set out on a trip around the world, promising herself that she would get a real job if she didn’t make it as a manga artist by the time she was twenty-five. She narrowly met that personal deadline when she made her debut in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a tale of a man who travels to London to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. She followed this up with a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education before tackling fantasy in Witch of Thistle Castle. She came to feel that she was more interested in drawing shojo manga, however, and when an editor at the shojo magazine Mystery Bonita reached out to her about working together, the result was the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. She also draws BL manga under the name John Taratsumi. Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who splits her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated hundreds of short stories, novels, and manga, including the Eisner Award-winning titles Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi, as well as the critically acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. As an interpreter, she has worked with Japan’s most celebrated authors and artists, including Sayaka Murata, Inio Asano, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsume Ono. by (W) Julie Doucet
An all-new edition of groundbreaking, flagship D&Q author Julie Doucet’s glorious contribution to the graphic memoir canonIn 1991, pioneering cartoonist Julie Doucet packed up her life and moved to New York. Thirty-five years later, the diary she kept lives on as a classic of autobio and literary comics.Doucet takes readers through a chaotic yet deeply relatable time. Trouble crops up at every other turn through a toxic on-again-off-again relationship, her creative insecurities in a male-dominated art scene, her worsening epilepsy, and a tendency to self-medicate with booze and drugs. This unapologetic, no-holds-barred account of an artist’s day-to-day in her mid-20s captures the highs and lows of modern womanhood. New York’s 90s underground scene comes to life in strikingly detailed panels with messy uptown apartments, crowded punk clubs, and unmanicured, trash-lined city sidewalks in all its dingy glamour. Each and every panel of My New York Diary is jam-packed with the exquisitely blocky flourishes that cemented Doucet’s reputation and earned her the Grand Prix d’Angoulême in 2022.
Mature
Julie Doucet was born near Montreal in 1965 and is best known for her frank, funny, and sometimes shocking comic book series Dirty Plotte, which changed the landscape of alternative cartooning. In the 1990s, Doucet moved between New York, Seattle, Berlin, and Montreal, publishing the graphic novels My New York Diary, Lift Your Leg, My Fish is Dead!, My Most Secret Desire, and The Madame Paul Affair. In 2000, she quit comics to concentrate on other art forms. From these experiments emerged the collection of engravings and prints Long Time Relationship; her one-year visual journal, 365 Days; and sassy collages from fumetto comics, Carpet Sweeper Tales. Her post-comics artwork includes silkscreened artist's books, text-based collages, sculpture, and animation films. She published her most recent book, Time Zone J in 2022 and was the first woman cartoonist from Quebec to win the Grand Prix d’Angoulême that same year.
