esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

As both writer and artist, Archie Goodwin (d. 1998) got his start in comic strips and cartoons before moving to Warren Publishing’s Vampirella — and from there to Marvel, where he eventually succeeded Gerry Conway as editor in chief. He has been credited with saving Marvel from financial ruin, with Roy Thomas, by securing adaptation rights to the legendary Star Wars franchise, perceiving its potential long before later merchandisers. He also wrote comic-book adaptations of Alien, Blade Runner and other hit films. He created both Marvel’s Graphic Novel line and its Epic Comics imprint — where, as editor, he occasionally appeared in caricature as alien, elf or other. He also edited early English translations of the Akira series and the works of Moebius. At DC Comics, he guided the destinies of Batman and Starman; one of his most memorable bodies of work was his collaboration with Walter Simonson on the “Manhunter†backup feature in Detective Comics, which won five Shazam Awards.Following Golden Age work at Marvel predecessor Timely Comics — as well as at Fawcett, Hillman and others — Carmine Infantino (d. 2013) made history at DC Comics, helping usher in the industry’s Silver Age with the reintroduction of the Flash, within whose title he cocreated the Elongated Man and several members of the hero’s famed Rogues’ Gallery. His 1961 story “Flash of Two Worlds,†which literally reshaped the DC Universe by introducing the Earth-1/Earth-2 concept, won Infantino two of his eventual 12 Alley Awards. After serving as DC’s art director and publisher, Infantino returned to penciling on several titles; for Marvel, he provided notable runs on Nova, Spider-Woman and Star Wars, along with brief stints on Daredevil, Ghost Rider and Iron Man. He also drew Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man, the historic first Marvel/DC crossover.

***The Lunar Exclusive Edition includes: A high quality exclusive print of the sketch for the regular edition cover Acetate Sleeve Alex Ross, the award-winning and bestselling creator of Marvels, Kingdom Come, and Fantastic Four: Full Circle, takes readers through the Marvel Universe—but all is not as it seems Marvel Dimensions is legendary artist Alex Ross’ second book in the Marvel Arts series, following the national bestselling, critically acclaimed, and award-winning Fantastic Four: Full Circle. The story opens with a sweeping tour through the classic origins of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, and many others appear in dramatic, fully painted spreads that echo their earliest stories. A narrator describes each moment with confidence, guiding the reader through these touchstones of Marvel’s history. But as the story moves forward, the tone begins to shift. The voice behind the narration is not who the readers expect and carries a motive that slowly pushes the narrative somewhere darker and far more unpredictable. Once this change becomes clear, the book expands into something larger and more surprising. Storylines twist in on themselves, characters behave in unexpected ways, and events ripple across the Marvel Universe with growing tensions. Ross uses the structure of the book to create anticipation and pull the reader deeper into a mystery that keeps widening. Every new sequence reveals another layer, building toward a final act that reframes everything that came before it. A bonus 32-page comic book is included that is pivotal to the storyline. With Marvel Dimensions, Ross approaches the Marvel Universe from a new angle with new character invention that invites readers to question what they think and what they know. “All the stories offer top-notch storytelling while providing readers with something more to think about.” —Publishers WeeklySTARRED REVIEW *“An outstanding out-of-the box anthology from renowned comics veteran Kibuishi . . . Both a visual feast for the eyes and a healthy helping of thought for the soul. Superb.” —Kirkus ReviewsSeven clever stories answer one simple question: What’s in the box?Funny, fantastic, spooky, and suspenseful, each of these unique and beautifully illustrated short graphic works revolves around a central theme: a mysterious box and the marvels—or mayhem—that is hidden inside.Artists include middle school favorites Kazu Kibuishi, Raina Telgemeier (Smile), and Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy), as well as Jason Caffoe, Stu Livingston, Johane Matte, Rad Sechrist (all contributors to the groundbreaking comics anthology series Flight), and Emily Carroll.Award-winning artist Kazu Kibuishi’s selection creates a mixture of laughs and creeps (with some philosophy) as well as the kind of graphical triumphs expected from Kibuishi’s other collections. With gorgeously detailed full-color artwork, there is a spooky tale of a sinister doppelgänger invading a girl’s life by up-and-coming comics star Emily Carroll; Dave Roman and Raina Telgemeier’s comedy of wizarding errors and online bidding wars; and Rad Sechrist’s romp involving a teenage girl, an introduction to the basics of Shintoism, and a manic butter thief driving a grandma to the brink. So, don’t hesitate. Come and open the box. You’ll be amazed. You’ll be entertained. You’ll be scared. And then you’ll want to read each story over again! Edited by Kazu Kibuishi. (immagine)

Wendy Pini was born Wendy Fletcher in San Francisco. Growing up on an isolated ranch in Gilroy, California, Wendy's imagination was fueled by all forms of fantasy and mythology. At an early age she began spinning her own tales of elves, monkey-gods, aliens and sorcerers. While her artistic talents were influenced by of turn-of-the-century illustrators, film and TV animation, her storytelling abilities evolved from a love of Shakespeare, Japanese history and legend, modern fantasy and the epic poetry of the Ramayana. In 1977, a deeply personal project called ELFQUEST was born. As the first continuing fantasy/adventure graphic novel series in America to be co-created, written and illustrated by a woman, ELFQUEST became a phenomenon in the comics industry. Appealing to comics and sci-fi/fantasy fans alike, it attracted a unique and unprecedented audience, an equal mix of male and female readers. Over three million copies of the collected graphic novel volumes have been sold to date.Richard Pini was born in 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), receiving a degree in astronomy and astrophysics. Always fan of science fiction, at college he found new diversion in comic books, and it was in the letters pages of “The Silver Surfer†in 1969 that he chanced upon a letter written by one Wendy Fletcher. A correspondence began, spanning a period of four years. The two eventually married in 1972, and Wendy embarked upon a career as an illustrator for sci-fi magazines. Richard’s degree in astronomy from MIT led Richard to a position at Boston’s Hayden Planetarium as lecturer, photographer, script writer, and special effects technician. In 2019, both Wendy and Richard were inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame for their lifetime achievements.

For the first time in English comes the critically acclaimed manga from John Tarachine, the author of Witch of Thistle Castle, that's perfect for fans of BL Metamorphosis! Generations apart, Kai and Umiko share a spirit driven to make movies—and a struggle not to be typecast, whether by youth or age.Kai’s worn out from all the part-time jobs he’s been working because he won’t take his family’s money…but after a major talent agency gets in touch with him, he’s on the crest of a big decision. Is his greatest asset neither his dreams nor his determination, but his entrancing self…and should he start selling it to the public for whatever they think it’s worth?Meanwhile, a celebrity’s already on campus—Sora, the popular young Insta influencer, who stung Umiko at the arts festival by suggesting she’s just a well-off granny who’s looking for a pastime past her prime. Worse, he’s convinced that he’s destined for a brilliant directorial career himself…and he’s just enrolled in the same film school! But Umiko’s wondering if Sora only said aloud what many of the other students are already thinking about her. And despite his bad manners, perhaps Sora’s own sea isn’t as shallow as it first appears…

John Tarachine (a pen name) was born in 1989 in Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. While at art school, she tried her hand at filmmaking, but realized she was better suited to working alone and decided to pursue manga as a career. After graduating, she set out on a trip around the world, promising herself that she would get a real job if she didn’t make it as a manga artist by the time she was twenty-five. She narrowly met that personal deadline when she made her debut in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a tale of a man who travels to London to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. She followed this up with a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education before tackling fantasy in Witch of Thistle Castle. She came to feel that she was more interested in drawing shojo manga, however, and when an editor at the shojo magazine Mystery Bonita reached out to her about working together, the result was the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. She also draws BL manga under the name John Taratsumi. Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who splits her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated hundreds of short stories, novels, and manga, including the Eisner Award-winning titles Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi, as well as the critically acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. As an interpreter, she has worked with Japan’s most celebrated authors and artists, including Sayaka Murata, Inio Asano, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsume Ono. She can be found online at kaikatsu.ca, blogging about books at brainvsbook.com, or noodling about translation and manga on Blue Sky (@brainvsbook). The Credits Roll Into the Sea is the acclaimed translator’s first work for Dark Horse!

From the petting zoo to the high seas! In their third hilarious adventure, best friends Pigmund and Lizárdo dive into a water-tossed tale of hijinks, mystery, mayhem, and friendship! When Pigmund and Lizárdo broke out of the petting zoo and started a freelance pet business, they never imagined they’d end up as ship mascots on a fishing boat in the middle of the Right-Hand Ocean! That is, if you promise to never, ever pet them!In this all-new adventure, the Unpetables are rescued by Captain Aimee and her crew of misfit mascots after getting stranded at sea. But something fishy is going on aboard this fishing boat, and when they drift into the Triangle of Weirdness, things go from weird to weirder. Bait your hooks and get ready for a wild tale of mystery, missing persons, and monsters—and one very persistent maintenance man!
Dennis Messner grew up in rural Missouri writing and drawing stories about animal misfits and underdogs. But he bombed school art and received marks for exhibiting “little to no self-control.†Later, Dennis combined his love of misfits and his short attention span to create, storyboard, write, design, and/or produce animated projects and TV shows for studios such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney, and DreamWorks. He’s also illustrated a series of children’s books and had a short stint as a syndicated cartoonist. Dennis lives in Los Angeles and, when not doodling, is probably traveling, reading out-of-print manga, feeding a crow, or eating a potato.
