Shirow Masamune was born in 1961 in Kobe, Japan and attended Osaka University of Arts, where his fellow classmates included Hideaki Anno, the future creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Rob Guillory is an award-winning cartoonist most known for his eight-year run on Image Comics’ New York Times Bestselling Chew. The book went on to achieve much success, winning two Harvey Awards (including Best New Talent for Guillory), two Eisner Awards, as well as being translated into a dozen or so languages. Sam was the character designer and storyboard artist for the multiple award winning animated short film Red Tape, the film won Best Animated Short at the Burbank International Film Festival and WorldFest Houston among others. Sam’s artistic contributions include a variety of animated and video game projects, most recently the VR shooter Swarm 1 & 2 and Bloody Hollow from Electi Studio, the American gothic horror miniatures game. When he’s not at the drawing board, Sam is developing new creator-owned projects for future book series.

He is creative director of Ignition Press and the host of the video podcast Curious Haunts. Jason A. Hurley: has been in comic book retail for over two decades, but The Beauty was his first foray into making his own. In addition to comic books, he loves pro wrestling, bad horror movies, Freddie Mercury, hummingbirds, his parents, and pizza. While he’s never actually tried it, he also thinks curling looks like a hell of a lot of fun. He’s lived in Joplin, Missouri, for most of his life, and never plans to leave.
