However, Illyana rescued some of the mutants, including the young Pixie - and, sensing the girl's purity, crafted a plan to defeat her former mentor. Illyana used Pixie's innocent soul to create a bloodstone of her own, and allowing Pixie to create a soul dagger - a miniature version of Illyana's old weapon.
