esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
by (W) Jeffrey Brown
After the acclaimed indie film Save the Date and the bestselling all-ages humor book Darth Vader and Son, graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy, Unlikely) returns to the autobiographical work that first made his reputation. In A Matter of Life, Jeffrey Brown draws upon memories of three generations of Brown men: himself, his minister father, and his preschooler son Oscar. Weaving through time, passing through the quiet suburbs and colorful cities of the midwest, their stories slowly assemble into a kaleidoscopic answer to the big questions: matters of life and death, family and faith, and the search for something beyond oneself.
Jeffrey Brown is the best selling author and illustrator of the middle grade Jedi Academy series, as well as the Darth Vader and Son series. When he was a kid, Jeffrey always dreamed of growing up to draw comics and make books for a living—and now he’s living that dream! Jeffrey has written a number of autobiographical books for adults (Clumsy, Unlikely, and A Matter of Life, among others, all from Top Shelf Productions), humorous graphic novels about cats (Cat Getting Out of a Bag, Cats Are Weird, from Chronicle Books), and parodies like Incredible Change-Bots (and its two sequels, all also from Top Shelf). His most recent project has been 40,000 years in the making: Lucy & Andy Neanderthal! Lucy and Andy are a brother and sister living in the stone age, where they struggle to survive mammoths, cave bears, and their own sibling rivalry. Lucy & Andy Book Two: The Stone Cold Age is available now.

by (W) Eddie Campbell
Eddie Campbell’s Bacchus is a true epic, spanning a decade of work, over a thousand pages, and several millennia of alcohol consumption. In Bacchus, the visionary behind From Hell (with Alan Moore) and ALEC: The Years Have Pants presents his version of "an American-style comicbook," filtered through his own brilliant, whimsical, and wide-ranging sensibility. With a fine blend of action, comedy, suspense, and an ear for a great story, Bacchus brings the gods and myths of ancient Greece to modern life, as if they had never left. Nearly 600 pages, this deluxe volume collects the second half of the Bacchus saga with new notes and commentary by the author.
Publishers Weekly calls Eddie Campbell "one of the premier cartoonists of his generation." Campbell has been writing and drawing comics since 1974, and is best known for his collaborations with Alan Moore (From Hell, A Disease of Language) and Neil Gaiman (The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains), as well as for Alec, his tour-de-force autobiographical series that Booklist called "a high-water mark in the graphic novel's short history," and the 1200-page epic Bacchus. Forthcoming is Bizarre Romance (in collaboration with Audrey Niffenegger).

by (W) Nicole Claveloux (CT) Donald Nicholson-Smith; Daniel Clowes
Now in paperback, a collection of “darkly humorous, existential, erotic, trance inducing” (The New York Times) short stories by the lauded French comics artist Nicole Claveloux.Nicole Claveloux’s short stories—originally published in the late 1970s and never before collected in English—are among the most beautiful comics ever drawn: whimsical, intoxicating, with the freshness and splendor of dreams. In hallucinatory color or elegant black-and-white, she brings us into lands that are strange but oddly recognizable, filled with murderous grandmothers and lonely city dwellers, bad-tempered vegetables and walls that are surprisingly easy to fall through. In the title story, written with Edith Zha, a new houseplant becomes the first step in an epic journey of self-discovery and a witty fable of modern romance—complete with talking shrubbery, a wised-up genie, and one very depressed bird. This selection, designed and introduced by Daniel Clowes, presents the full achievement of an unforgettable, unjustly neglected master of French comics.
Nicole Claveloux has contributed to the French comics magazines Métal Hurlant (Heavy Metal) and Ah! Nana, and drew a popular comic strip called Grabote. Championed by Harlin Quist, she has also illustrated a number of successful chil- dren’s books, including an award-winning version of Alice in Wonderland. New York Review Comics will be publishing a new collection of her work, Dead Season and Other Stories, in 2022.Daniel Clowes is a cartoonist, illustrator, and screenwriter. In 1989 he created the influential comic book series Eightball, which includes the celebrated issues Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, Caricature, and Ghostworld. He lives in Oakland, California.Donald Nicholson-Smith has translated a number of books for both NYRB Classics and New York Review Comics, including Yvan Alagbé’s Yellow Negroes and Other Imaginary Creatures. by (W) Chris Reynolds (A) Seth (CT) Seth; Ed Park
A surreal vision of a post-alien-invasion Earth where human beings still have to deal with quotidian frustrations, ennui, and understanding their place in the world.Since the mid-1980s, the British cartoonist Chris Reynolds has been assembling a world all his own. On the surface, it seems much like ours: a place of cool afternoon shadows and gently rolling hills, half-empty trains and sleepy downtown streets. But the closer you look, the weirder it gets. After losing a mysterious intergalactic war, Earth is no longer in humanity’s control. Blandly friendly aliens lurk on the margins and seem especially interested in the mining industry. The very rules of time and space seem to have shifted: Mysterious figures suddenly appear in childhood photos, family members disappear forever without warning, power outages abound, and certain people gain the power of flight. A helmeted man named Jimmy is somehow causing local businesses to shutter and is being closely watched by the “trendy new police force,” Rational Control. The world is being remade, but in what image? This new collection, selected and designed by the acclaimed cartoonist Seth, includes short stories, a novella, and the full-length graphic novel Mauretania. It is the ideal guide to all the mystery and wonder of one of the most underappreciated cult classics in the history of comics. This NYRC edition is a hardcover with foil stamping, debossing, full-color endpapers, and extra-thick paper, and features new scans of the original artwork.
Chris Reynolds was born in Wales in 1960 and studied fine art at the North Staffordshire Polytechnic. He has worked as a filmmaker, publicist, and art teacher but now devotes his time to drawing comics. He lives in Poole in the United Kingdom.Seth is the cartoonist behind the comic book series Palookaville, and his comics have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Best American Comics, and McSweeney’s. His illustrations have appeared in numerous publications, including on the covers of The New Yorker, The Walrus, and Canadian Notes & Queries. He is also Lemony Snicket’s partner for the new young-adult series All the Wrong Questions. Seth lives in Guelph, Ontario, with his wife, Tania, and their two cats in an old house he has named Inkwell’s End.Ed Park is a founding editor of The Believer and a former editor of the Voice Literary Supplement and for the Poetry Foundation.
