Tom DeFalco’s earliest comic-book scripts were for Archie and DC; he soon moved to Marvel, where he wrote Avengers, Machine Man and other titles, also launching Dazzler, a hit series of the early ’80s. Nome: Jen. Misure: Perfettamente tarate sull'immaginario dei cromosomi XY (prova teologica dell'esistenza del Maligno e della feroce ironia del Demiurgo). Livello intellettivo: Intelligenza machiavellica. Carattere: Passionale, impulsivo, vendicativo. Missione principale: Godersi la vita devastando nel contempo quelle di tutti maschietti presenti nel raggio di 2 Km. Missione secondaria: Cambiare i connotati di Dean il Maiale. Abbiamo osservato il soggetto in azione nel corso degli eventi narrati all'interno del quarto volume della serie "Liberty Meadows" intitolato "Un cuore di ghiaccio". Ai fini di poter argomentare al meglio le nostre conclusioni, riportiamo qui di seguito una breve sinossi degli accadimenti. Frank, incapace di superare la propria atavica timidezza, accetta di sottoporsi a un trattamento testosteronico ideato da Ralph che, aiutato da Leslie, ricorre a un campione biologico ricavato da Dean il maiale. Le conseguenze saranno devastanti (per il povero ibrido Frankendeanie) ed esilaranti (per noi). Nel frattempo l'algida madre di Brandy piomba in città portandosi dietro Roger, una vecchia fiamma della figlia (e dimostrandosi ancora una volta incapace di farsi gli affaracci propri...). Siparietto comico offerto dall'impagabile e tenerissimo duo Oscar&Truman. Party di Natale di Al: ci sono tutti (tranne Brandy, rimasta bloccata col parentado). Frank è immusito e il soggetto Jen trova il modo di tirarlo un po' su, innescando una reazione a catena che avrà una ricaduta inaspettata sulla psiche del timido veterinario. Nel frattempo Khan il pesce gatto decide di far affiorare ancora una volta il suo brutto muso. Julius e i ragazzi si danno alla pesca sul ghiaccio ma rimangono bloccati nella tormenta. Frank si getta al salvataggio ma se la vede ancora una volta con il Tristo Mietitore. Per fortuna sopraggiunge Brandy. A questo punto abbiamo un affastellarsi di situazioni equivoche degne della migliore commedia sentimentale (il Macaco ha studiato il suo Shakespeare...): Frank ama Brandy ma esce con Jen; Brandy ama Frank ma esce con Roger; Jen (il nostro soggetto) ama divertirsi ed è priva di scrupoli; la Mucca esce di galera per buona condotta; i negozi di biancheria intima sono luoghi in cui si rischia la dignità e ... un momento... come sarebbe a dire... LA MUCCA ESCE PER BUONA CONDOTTA!!!???? Oddio! E ora chi glielo dice a Ralph e Leslie che l'avevano mandata in galera? Meglio stemperare la tensione con le gaie facezie di Oscar e Truman e con Dean che, in sovrappeso, chiede a Ralph di fargli una liposuzione. A seguire, secondo appuntamento di Frank e Jen che non riesce proprio a non fare la civetta (e la cosa finisce in rissa!). Per fortuna ci penserà l'annuale picnic al lago a rasserenare gli animi (e ad agitare le coronarie di Dean). Risultato: Frank decide di lasciare Jen. Ma Jen non è troppo d'accordo: medita vendetta e la mette in pratica (povero, piccolo Frank!). Da qui in poi gli eventi precipitano a rotta di collo verso un... MATRIMONIO??!!... fino a un finale aperto su cui è tutt'oggi in bilico il futuro del caro zio Cho (ehi, Macaco: se non ti decidi a rimetterti a fare strisce rischi di brutto! La pece è sul fuoco e a spennare una dozzina di galline noi non ci s'impiega nulla!!). Come si evince da quanto sopra, è oltremodo chiaro che avvicinare il soggetto Jen in questione nell'illusoria convinzione di poter gestire la relazione tenendo, come si dice, “il coltello dalla parte del manico”, è pura follia. Onde evitare spiacevoli conseguenze fisiche ed emotive si suggerisce un atteggiamento di cauta adulazione e remissiva accondiscendenza, pregando che l'interesse del soggetto nei nostri confronti decresca spontaneamente fino al disinteresse.
