The world's first series of action figures created by Hasbro, G.I. Joe follows a group of heroes in their fight against Cobra, an evil organization plotting to take over the world. In this new line of 1/7 scale statues, the colorful characters of G.I. JOE are reborn as Kotobukiya's BISHOUJO! The first character to join the series is an agent from the global elite special unit known as the G.I. JOE team, Scarlett! The statue is based on original art by Shunya Yamashita, which was specially created as concept art for the BISHOUJO statue! A counter-intelligence expert who protects her allies from enemy schemes, Scarlett is proficient with a variety of weapons. Scarlett's signature red hair and two-piece bodysuit are recreated in stunning detail. While remaining faithful to the original G.I. JOE series, Scarlett's suit has also been upgraded to represent the advanced, high-tech equipment available to the elite G.I. JOE team, as is evident in the suit's unique and highly detailed texture. Additionally, like the original action figure, Scarlett comes with an XK-1 power crossbow. A mercenary who is proficient with any bladed weapon or firearm and yet petrified of death, Wade Wilson underwent a variety of changes when he was injected with an artificial version of Wolverine's healing factor that transformed him into one of the most dangerous heroes, Deadpool! Sculpted in an aggressive combat pose, this 1/6-scale rendition of the boisterous hero stands just over 12' tall. Deadpool stands atop a rusted catwalk base that evokes the atmosphere of a battle inside an abandoned factory plant. The statue also comes with an assortment of the hero's favorite weapons, with holsters for his katanas, three handguns, and the knife he keeps in the sheath on his right leg, as well as interchangeable hand parts allowing him to hold the weapons. The craftsmanship in this piece continues from the sculpting to the painting. Unlike other pieces which follow the pattern of a simple base coat with shading. ARTFX Premier re-evaluates the standards for figure painting. Each individual piece of the statue is layered with several types of paint, giving the finished product an unprecedented sense of beauty and depth. With these techniques in mind, Kotobukiya's craftsmen imagined what kind of materials may come out of the realm of Asgard to create the unique paint job on Thor's metal and leather armor, which transforms in color depending on the angle as it catches light. A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The next amazing Ani*Statue from Kotobukiya takes us to the world of 7th Dragon, a series of role-playing games for Nintendo DS from Sega. In this world alien creatures called 'dragons' have taken over the Earth and it's up to heroes from a variety of different classes to fight them and save humanity. The first Ani*Statue from the franchise is the cute and mysterious FORTUNER from the final sequel 7th Dragon III Code: VFD (coming to North America in summer, 2016)! Called the 'astrologer of the battlefield,' the Fortuner uses scythes and the forces of death in the fight against the dragons. This version of the character utilizes the Atlantis style from 12,000 years ago and the standard color scheme in the game's complex character creation matrix. Fortuner stalks her prey carefully, bent over at the waist with her hands outstretched behind her and one leg crossed in front of the other. She never takes her green eyes off of her enemy, staring it down with a penetrating gaze and a determined expression. The girl wears a complex outfit with a short frilly dress and multiple capes and sashes layered over it, all in the beautiful blue, purple, and white color scheme with black, white, and gray accents. Of particular note is the twisting and flowing motion of Fortuner's clothing as well as the sculpting detail calling out the different materials in it, and of course the adorable cat ears with fur that sit atop her head. Sculpted by Shou Kojima, the Atlantean Fortuner is just over 9 inches tall (1/7 scale) in her bent over pose as she stands on a unique display base emblazoned with a symbol from the game.
