Secondo volume della collana che propone una delle più belle serie a fumetti dedicate ai racconti bellici. Un progetto diretto da Harvey Kurtzman, il creatore di Mad, che era molto esigente con i suoi autori, sovvertendo le regole della casa editrice EC Comics che lasciava molto liberi i suoi disegnatori. Kurtzman invece, da grande perfezionista che era, imbastiva sceneggiature complesse e chiedeva a disegnatori del calibro di Alex Toth e Wally Wood di dare il massimo. I risultati sono sotto gli occhi di tutti. Frontline Combat con le sue storie di guerra, fortemente antimilitariste, costituisce una delle pietre angolari del fumetto di tutti i tempi.
