esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

As the two realities converge, the SOS Brigade learns that the new member may have the ability to bring the two story 'timelines' together--and save the world in the process. This book was originally published as two separate volumes in Japan, but the U.S. version will feature both volumes for the price of one. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

In Los Angeles during the 1940s and 1950s, Disney artists popularized illustration for children both on the big screen and in the pages of the Golden Books, a series of affordably priced children's books. These stories distilled the visual language of Disney films and brought historic and contemporary tales to life through compelling and inventive works of art. The selection of material in this book by 7 different artists reflects the variety of stylistic approaches that defined animation and illustration at the Disney studio. The book begins with an introduction to the artistic milieu that characterized the Disney studio, and each of the 10 stories-Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, Peter and the Wolf, Once Upon a Wintertime, The Adventures of Mr. Toad, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan-is illustrated with complete original art and text. Biographies of the artists featured are included in the appendix. This hardcover anthology of vintage illustration will captivate adults and children alike. Yee, the New York Times bestselling author of Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Rise of Kyoshi and Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Shadow of Kyoshi, comes a thrilling chapter in the Chronicles of the Avatar series and a page-turning follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Dawn of Yangchen. Common enemies make for strange friends . . . Avatar Yangchen has succeeded in bringing a measure of stability to Bin-Er, but her successes have been limited to a single city, and rumors concerning Unanimity—a weapon capable of total obliteration—have led to increasing tensions among the Four Nations. Desperate to restore diplomacy, Yangchen attempts to de-escalate hostilities between heads of state. But in the wake of a brutal assassination and the freeing of Unanimity, Yangchen is forced to bring Kavik—the trusted former companion whose betrayal crushed her—back into her fold. As the Four Nations teeter on the brink of conflict and she begins to unravel the power-hungry Zongdu Chaisee’s true agenda, Yangchen is forced to measure the worth of humanity and how much can be sacrificed in the name of balance. A behind-the-scenes reveal of Steven Spielberg's upcoming 2011 motion capture 3-D film based on the universally beloved comic book series The Adventures of Tintin that will answer the inevitable question: how on earth did they do THAT? With forewards by both Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, this book is the ultimate authority on the film event of the year. Created by the Belgian artist Herg?, Tintin is a beloved comic strip character, a teenage reporter who travels the world with his dog Snowy doing good deeds and foiling bad guys. The character made his debut in 1929 in a Belgian newspaper and has been chronicled in dozens of illustrated books, translated into many languages, and has sold more than 200 million copies worldwide. Now Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming up to launch The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn in late 2011 (releases in most global markets October, 2011; releases in US December 23, 2011). This first of two movies brings to life the enormously popular books by Herg? in performance-captured 3-D form. The conceptual design and visual effects for the movie are being created by Weta Workshop, the multi-Academy Award winning company who helped create global blockbusters such as Avatar, The Lord of the Rings, District 9, King Kong, The Chronicles of Narnia and many others. The very same Weta artists who are working on the movie will be launching THE ART OF TINTIN book in both paper and digital format in late 2011. So readers will get the inside story telling how the movie progresses from the original works of Herg?, through the movie design process, to the final look on the big screen. Weta Workshop's artists have created the special make-up effects, physical characteristics, stunning landscapes, and most importantly, Tintin's dog Snowy. The film is to be shot with an atmospheric, film-noire aesthetic with sweeping European cityscapes and vistas, a veritable feast for the eyes. This book illuminates the creative design process, detailing interactions between Weta's artists, Peter Jackson, and Steven Spielberg. It will include hundreds of images from concept art and storyboards to photographs of the props and sculptures, as well as insightful remarks from the artists themselves. Many of the images included in this book have never been seen before, including work that was eventually cut or barely glimpsed in the finished film. THE ART OF TINTIN offers an unrivalled look into the creative minds and hands responsible for lifting the beloved figures of a comic book classic off the page and onto the big screen. Author: Weta Workshop is a multi-award winning conceptual design and physical manufacturing facility based out of Wellington, New Zealand, servicing the world's entertainment and wider creative industries. Weta Workshop is also a multi-disciplinary facility, with crew members expert in a diverse range of disciplines all housed under the one roof. These services include conceptual design and the manufacturing of weapons, armor and chainmail, specialist props, custom vehicles, specialty costumes, miniatures and models, special makeup and prosthetics, and public art installations or displays. The team at Weta enjoys engaging in projects holistically, from preliminary technical analysis and conceptual design through to manufacture across all departments and the final delivery of product and crew to set, anywhere in the world. Drawing on more than twenty years of filmmaking experience, five-time Oscar-winning design and special effects supervisor Richard Taylor is intimately involved in all projects from concept through to delivery. Best known for the company's design and effects work on award-winning film projects, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, The Chronicles of Narnia, Avatar, and District 9, Weta Workshop is not limited to film and television, offering services to creative industries worldwide. John Romita Sr is as synonymous with Marvel as is Stan Lee. Stan was definitely the writer and visionary of the Marvel Universe, but Jazzy John was the ultimate catcher to all of Stan's pitches. Arguably the most important contributor to Marvel canon with Jack Kirby, and arguably the definitive Spider-Man artist, John Romita has left his mark creating, defining and/or designing some of Marvel's most, well, marvelous characters. From being (in our humble opinion) the definitive Spider-Man artist to helping design many of Marvel's major characters from Wolverine and the Punisher to Spider-Woman, The Kingpin and so many more. And, though it was Stan Lee and Steve Ditko who co-created Spider-Man and Peter Parker, and helped us love the boy with the problems we all grew up with, it was Jazzy John who allowed Peter to grow up and have the same problems many had growing up, and glamorized Peter Parker and rounded out his stable of characters from Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborne, and who also gave us the unbelievable entrance by Mary Jane Watson, showing us just how Peter had hit the jackpot! And John Romita Jr. has also created a rich body of work that few can follow in his feet. Having outgrown the shadow of his father early in his career, John Romita Jr. has shown the world why he is 'Mr. Marvel'. From his early days working with Bob Layton on the Iron Man issues featuring the controversial issues of Tony Stark's alcoholism, to his jump to stardom in the early '90's on the Uncanny X-Men (almost a decade after his first stint on the Uncanny X-Men with Chris Claremont), to his unbelievable work on Daredevil: Man Without Fear with Frank Miller and Al Williamson, John proved that he was one of only a few artists who can shine working with a master such as Frank Miller. Moving in to the new millennium, John's work on Thor was nothing short of amazing, as well as working on Daredevil with Ann Nocenti and Al Williamson. But nothing has been more tailor made for John Jr's art than Marvel's flagship title - Spider-Man! His return on Peter Parker, Spider-Man proved that he was Marvel's best choice for a Spider-Man artist, and when Joe Michael Straczynski took hold of Marvel's flagship title, it was John Jr's art that made the great stories shine as well as they did! One thing that's kept John's art fresh is his ability to move from character to character. It definitely is bitter sweet to see John run around the Marvel Universe on characters such as The Eternals (with Neil Gaiman), proving that once again, John Jr. is the artists artist who can tackle such great projects, and even on his run on the World War Hulk (yes, Hulk does indeed Smash!), one is mesmerized by his incredible artwork. What's amazing is, that as of this writing, John Romita Jr. will be returning to Amazing Spider-Man #568, and this fan, Nick Barrucci, President of Dynamic Forces, feels the excitement and energy to his return. These are the things that we live for in comics. It's rare to know when a series is going to be great because a great artist is working on it. We are fortunate to be on the ground floor, again, but the anticipation is something that will only be quenched with the first read of a series that will be great. The Romitas are one of the few royal families in comics. If you haven't had a chance to fully appreciate their work, here's your chance. It's a fun ride. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have in putting this book together! With an introduction by Alex Ross and an afterword by Stan 'The Man' Lee, this hard cover book is perfect for every Spider-Man fan young and old! (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror

edited by Gary Phillips & Christopher Chambers Expanding on the concept behind Byron Preiss's Weird Heroes from the 1970s, George R. R. Martin's Wild Card series, and Michael Chabon's McSweeney's Mammoth Treasury of Thrilling Tales, The Darker Mask collects original prose stories recalling the derring-do of the beings we call Superheroes and the worlds they fight to save. But unique to The Darker Mask stories is that these plots and characters color a literary universe outside of what has been predominantly white, idiosyncratic, and male in previous homages to pulp. This is the stuff of urban legends, new mythos, and extraordinary folks who might live in a soon-to-be-gentrified ghetto, the dreary rust-belt of the city, or in another dimension. The Darker Mask offers an eclectic mix of popular fiction writers exploring worlds gritty, visceral, and fantastic from writers including Walter Mosley, L. A. Banks, Tananarive Due and Stephen Barnes, Ann Nocenti, and more. (immagine) Categoria: Books: novel/sci fi/horror
